Sure, they have house cured hams, kielbases, kabanosy, cheeses etc but you really come here for the incredible homemade baked goods. All the baking here is done on premises, and superb. Standouts are the cherry, and poppy cheesecakes, coffee cake, and fruit/apricot filled rugaliky ( rugelach), apple cake and of course the babkas and assorted Polish cookies ( chocolate, poppy, linzer). If you see the potato babkas grab it! They only make it occasionally and it is savory with shredded potatoes, onions and bacon bits. I am not kidding, prices here are less than half what all those crummy commercial New Brooklyn cafés now charge. I stop here on the way to my Moms out on Long Island or The City and bring cookies and cakes for our office parties. My mom and employees are very pleased and ask "where did you get this?" Ended up getting some rugelach that were fresh from the oven. The rugelach were a hit in the office. The staff really liked them. My coworker who was kosher really liked them too. A bunch of people just kept eating them throughout the day. The rugelach were delicious. The chocolate was good. The pastry wasn't too sweet. The vanilla ones were great too, but I really liked the chocolate ones the best. They have a dress code that they post in front of the store before you go in. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes, cover your knees, and shoulders. It shouldn't be a problem in the winter though. If you want some good baked goods, Sander's is a great option. If you're like me and wanting to pick up some kosher pastries, I would check which certification your friend/coworker accept as there are many they may or may not eat.
