The selection of food is wonderful. The restaurant is very big, clean and pleasant. The wait staff was help and quick to clean.

The buffet was immaculate. I wasn't sure what to expect because I haven't visited a buffet style restaurant since the pandemic. I tried to taste a variety of items and overall it wasn't bad. Some dishes were too salty but not unbearable. I thought that all was well until I got got home and everything I ate came out! Needless to say I won't return. The kids and I love coming here for the sushi! I personally love the hibachi because I can choose what I want and conteo Lynette sauce. It can get really crowded especially on the weekend so I recommended going as early as they open or during the week. read more

The buffet was okay, standard stuff. The sushi, however, was great! Good pricing and good service. Give it a try if you are in the area.

For the price, this place met my expectations. I wasn't blown away. But, I did have some tasty sushi rolls. We went mid-afternoon on a Thursday, so it was off hours. They weren't busy, but the entire buffet was well stocked with a variety of Chinese and Japanese food. I tried the crab rangoon, salmon, cheese mussels, fried scallops, and a variety of sushi. I tend to prefer cooked sushi (ie. crab) and just loved the options. There were California rolls, Philadelphia rolls, and specialty rolls. Nothing was labeled, so you had to eyeball it. I had a couple of really delish specialty rolls. I didn't like the fried scallops (overcooked) and the salmon (also overcooked), but did really enjoy the cheese muscles and crab rangoon. There was a hibachi station too, but they were closed for most of our visit. I tried a some of the desserts and liked the coconut macaroons. The mousse was a little waxy, but we did enjoy everything else. They cleared plates quickly and at $15 per person for lunch, it was a great deal. There are a couple of very good restaurants with some traditional dishes that soar above the typical buffet or take out places - New Sichuan and Sampan. The food here is that of the average Chinese buffet - few items that are truly bad, and even fewer that are really good. This buffet remains about variety and quantity , and quality is the victim. Unless you are solely looking for quantity, you are better served at one of the better take out places like Mr Lus, or a trip to Bermuda Run for a sit down at Jade Garden. read more

We were having a Chinese buffet craving after a busy Friday and had two hungry kids to feed. A quick search on Yelp and we found the buffet option in the area. Tin Tin is nicely located near the busy Hanes Mall area. There was ample parking even on a Friday night and the restaurant is attractive from the outside. We were seated immediately. While the table and chairs were comfortable, I was disappointed in how close the chairs were together, with the backs of adjacent tables touching and leaving no room to slide back or for someone to get by. When it comes to quality of the food, we've got to be honest here: nobody goes to a buffet expecting top notch stuff right? It's the nature of the beast, they're not cooking it all to order, it's going to be made cheaper to make a profit, and it's going to sit on a warmer for a while. If you come here with reasonable buffet expectations, Tin Tin will meet them. For the most part the food was good, seemed fresh, and I saw them regularly topping things off. Some things like Beef & Broccoli or General Tso's were overly saucy and a bit bland. The fried things like egg rolls and crab Rangoon were good for a buffet, still a bit crispy, but with that hint of stale where you can tell it was an hour ago they came out of the fryer. Compared to other buffets, I was impressed with the variety. The option for a hibachi bar where you pick your ingredients and they cook them was surprising. I was equally impressed with a fairly broad sushi selection, and almost all of the pieces I tried were tasty and fresh. There was a fairly large dessert selection though to be honest most of the pieces I sampled were unimpressive or had odd tastes. For the price ($75 for 2 adults and 2 kids on a Friday night) it's not the cheapest dinner but honestly you'll spend about the same at a sit down restaurant these days. The kids loved the variety and experience. I felt the value for the price was good. And it met my relatively low expectations. Don't take my 3 star review to mean they're bad, but rather that I think they're perfectly average. I'd go back. read more

Half the food there was cold and tasteless. The sign says it closes at 9:30 but they passed the bill to me at 8:53 and basically ushered me to the door. I wasn't finished eating but when I was getting the last plate they allowed me to have I was being watched in a weird way. Just go to golden corral or another Chinese buffet if you want buffet food. The cleanest Asian buffet I've ever visited (and I like those spots). Tin Tin is a great spot for lunch and dinner and is seriously nice... The COVID precautions are definitely in place. While I appreciate the effort, I doubt the plastic gloves you have to wear at the buffet do much. But, I'm not a scientist and it's easy enough to wear some gloves. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves at the buffet and I watched them enforce it. The variety here is solid! It's a big buffet. You'll find something you like. They have a great selection of your traditional Asian buffet items, sushi (good sushi), deserts, some American food, hibachi, you name it. I can't say any of it is "the best I've had," but it's consistently and good and the big variety is a win. I've honestly never left here less than stuffed. You could actually eat really healthy here if you chose. They have great salads and fruits and healthier meat options. Personally, I go in for all the chickens...general tso, honey, wings, teriyaki, on a stick, pepper, and on and on. It's a value win! There used to be a place in Pineville, North Carolina called Tin tin when this restaurant first opened I thought that's what we were getting. I soon learned that it just used the seriously lack quality of food. I ate there today and I found that the sushi selection for lunch was lacking. The hibachi meat was almost inedible. It was cooked so badly tough to chew. The food wasn't even warm. The one glimmer of hope for this establishment was its desserts. I have no complaints at all about the selection and choice of desserts, but I do have to ask why you were charged a dollar for ice cream when you're already charging your premium price for your subpar food. That's the only reason why you're getting two stars and not one. read more

It's a very clean buffet. Food items on the buffet look pretty good but the flavors are mediocre to poor. Front of the house staff was on top of things and doing a pretty good job. Open until 930 supposedly but by 745 they basically weren't making anything fresh. You were stuck with whatever was already out there. I got the last two pieces of nigiri tuna and it was obvious there would be no more. Based on the trays that were there, I would guess they put out a fresh set of sushi when they open and never replenish it if you're there on a weeknight. The "habachi" grill is set up like a Mongolian barbecue where you can pick your own veggies, meats, and noodles and have them cook it fresh. This was the best thing available. Would be nice if they sliced the meat thinner though so it wouldn't be quite so tough. read more

My experience at Tin Tin was pre-COVID, which at this point feels a little bit like another lifetime, but I did notice they have reopened in the last few weeks. I have not been in since then, so I don't know what the format is, but I can speak to the food. If that hasn't changed a whole lot since the before-fore times, then its probably just alright. It's really hard to find a good Chinese buffet. Just the nature of the beast. The variety of stuff is what is appealing of course for a flat rate, but usually what you get is not the best version of the dish. Things inevitably aren't as fresh as you'd want, and it affects the flavor. Other things are being done simply as cheaply as possible. In my experience, the best buffets are smaller ones not these mega ones, and my favorite in this area is indeed a small, lunch only, one. If you're alright living in the world presented above, which is kind of what you ought to expect, Tin Tin is totally fine. Usually if a big buffet meets this expectation, I would give it a four. In Tin-Tin's case, I did not enjoy the food as much even placed against the lowered bar, so I have to place it just a step down. It wasn't bad, but there also wasn't anything I ate that made me think "Hey, this is a bright spot." which I can usually find even at other big buffets. read more

I thought the food was good and the servers were very nice. The inside of the restaurant is pretty, however it seems there aren't booths or are a limited amount. The staff at tintin buffet was way to attentive standing right next to us and listening to our conversations as well as continuing to ask our children how old they were. The food was also not the best and after everyone had stomach aches. The server also asked us what we wanted to drink before we even got to the table and sat down. The buffet was also really confusing and crowded because there were no signs on were to go and where it started and all of the waiters were yelling across the restaurant. The bill was also split completely wrong and the waiters gave themselves a $20 dollar tip on the bill. The outside and inside of the restaurant was also pretty dirty. The Chinese food tastes similar to your standard Chinese food takeout, and the sushi quality is surprisingly decent, which makes the buffet price worth it since it's all-you-can-eat. The Chinese food is solid. The sushi consists nigiri (salmon, tuna) and specialty rolls. The hibachi bar is self-serve, so you gather the raw ingredients on a plate and hand it to the chef. Ice cream is also available here, but they come prepackaged in little styrofoam cups. Make sure you come with an empty stomach to maximize the amount of food you can eat! WORTH IT? MAYBE, if you're looking for a buffet to satisfy your Chinese food, hibachi, and sushi cravings, then look no further! (Overall 6/10) The Friday and weekend adult buffet is fairly expensive and will set you back $18, which is understandable given the COVID situation on restaurants. just when we thought we couldn't find a good chinese restaurant........we ended up here........this is the worst ever.....we ordered hot tea to go with our meal....they brought out two styrofoam cups with tea bags hanging out.......soup served with styrofoam bowls.......the food looked liked last weeks leftovers and was basically cold........awful!!!! the waitress asked if everything was all right........i told her our food was cold......she shrugged her shoulders...... you can't make this stuff up......when she brought our bill i asked if she applied a senior discount......she rudely asked "how old are you?" when i told her 72.....she gave me a dirty look and gave us a three dollar discount........both meals together weren't worth 3 dollars......pass on this place.........your better off going hungry..... read more

Just feel that the quality of food has been sub-par the last few times that I have been here. Especially the sushi bar offerings. Granted it was during their lunch time hours, but still... Most of the rolls that were presented were made with imitation crab inside. No nigiri. I saw one small roll that offered a slender slice of salmon, but it had cream cheese inside; which I'm not really a fan. Lots of rolls with cream cheese! No soy sauce on the tables, so you need to know it is offered on the sauce bar. The hot plates were fair for buffet. Service was quick and great for drinks and to clear our table of plates. It was pretty crowded! Overall they have a great variety but the sushi is not "authentic" sushi with great quality fish, but will hit the spot if you are truly craving. They also have some seafood and BBQ dishes, Chinese dim sum dishes, and American and BBQ dishes. There is a hibachi grill towards the back. For desserts, they have cupcakes, cakes, donuts, and single serving ice cream in the back freezer. Overall, they hit the checkmarks minimum needed to be a buffet.
