Although it was noted that another server was wearing what could be an offensive tshirt and I was glad she was not our server. The food was fine. Everything was served hot and then portions sufficient. The skillet could have used ground sausage instead of cut-up links and both orders of potatoes could be seasoned but we handled that with salt and pepper and hot sauce. Very nice clean place i went in through the back door scared a worker accidentally the kitchen was very clean like extremely clean. Then i waled up front and sat at the bar as i am only one person staff was friendly service was prompt and i have nothing but good things to say about my experience eating breakfast there . Fresh food and all importantly always fresh coffee, and relatively inexpensive in this day and age. Breakfast always good and coneys are very good also. Service is MUCH improved they get to you quickly and the wait time has improved since Covid and pre Covid times. Restaurant was busy when I arrived. We were not greeted or acknowledged for a few minutes. My group decided to sit down at a clean table because no one was helping us. Once we sat down, waitresses ignored us for over 10 minutes. After a while, they finally brought us menus... but not enough for every person at the table. After asking for another menu we were never brought it. We also didn't get the correct number of silverware. The food tasted good. The gyro came with very little taziki sauce and we asked for another side of it. It never came... I could tell our waitress was new. She was overall kind. The food was ok. Nothing special, way overpriced. The service seemed to be good at first but then went to non-existent. The waitress seemed to be either trying to rush us out of the restaurant or as soon as she laid the bill on our table she was done with us. We weren't there lingering, or for a long time, and the place was mostly empty. But, after the meal we sat and hung out for about 30 minutes, the entire time I waved, spoke up, etc., but could not get our waitress, or any waitress for that matter to acknowledge. Literally the worst service I have ever received. I am not exaggerating when I say that it took us 10 minutes to even get a menu and over a half hour to get our breakfast. We had to flag down another waitress to get water and coffee refills, which was a chore in itself. Once we got our food, the waitress didn't check back with us to see how things tasted or if we needed anything else. We asked a question about the food the waitress was supposed to ask of the kitchen. We were wholly unsurprised when that question went completely unanswered. My food was fine, but my friend's eggs were overcooked (we're talking brown scrambled eggs) and the toast only had a few splotches of butter on it. Honestly, I am not even sure what method they used to butter it, because it sure wasn't a knife. Throughout the entire experience, our mostly absent waitress was completely unapologetic. The food was very good but the service was terrible. It took 45 minutes for eggs and a burger. They said it was because the burger took longer. Seems like bs to me. I give the food a 4 out of 5 but the service gets a 2. So average out a 3. They couldn't handle a packed house and I might return if it was more empty. We've always enjoyed our meals here, typically breakfasts. Note new hours (since I don't know when) 7-3 Sun-Mon. How it is that I never ordered their Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. I can't even explain. SO good. Jim and I usually split a big breakfast so we both get some of everything! He got the All-American (lots of breakfast meats and hash browns to share) and I ordered the 3 Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. These come drizzled with white icing :-) We are full and happy. The breakfast here is ok. Staff is great. What bugs me is the toast has faux butter-oil squirted on it; my advice is order toast dry & ask for butter on the side. I don't order omelets anymore because they end up overcooked (maybe should sauté veggies first?). They are cooked on the griddle, instead of an omelet pan so its really just scrambled eggs. Pros: It didn't make me sick. I dined with my favorite person. Cons: Odd layout, television playing, no abiance, my girlfriend's meal was messed up, awful, demented and lackluster french fries. My J&D hash/omlet was ok (it had spinach)! but just not a lot of love in the food. I'm also pretty sure my girlfriend's aftorementioned meal, a "veggie pita" arrived at the lady's table next to us, where she remarked, "There's no meat in this sandwich!" I'm pretty sure that then went into the kitchen and came right back based on the timing. The veggie pita was simply a regular pita minus the meat. I have been here a few time because it is in my neighborhood & I'm an optimist. Went today after church with family & found enough things wrong that I cannot recommend this establishment. Despite a warm morning, the restaurant's air conditioning was not on (or not working) causing quite a discomforting atmosphere. While the food is good, the delivery of all the meals was spread out over 5 minutes or so. Toast was missing and syrup for the pancakes had to be requested. Coffee refills also had to be requested. With such service, even the tasty Greek Omelette will keep me from returning anytime soon. read more

My husband and I went here for a late lunch on a Thursday. My experience is compared to Spartan Coney Island in Frandor. Decor is by far better than that of Sparty in Frandor. Could stand to be maintained better. Service was very friendly, but took a while to get things we needed. Food was good. The fries were awesome! Cooked perfectly. I got the olive burger. It's a frozen patty, but wasn't horrible. I wish they put more of the olive mayo topping on it. My husband got chili cheese fries and biscuit and gravy. The chili cheese fries were nothing spectacular. A LOT of chili and the cheese wiz was ok. The biscuit and gravy compared to Spartan Coney Island was by far better. It was nice and thick, had flavor to it, and nice chunks of sausage. My kids got grilled cheese which was fine, and chicken fingers which were over cooked. Barely had any meat. Contrary to other posts we had a very good experience at T&D. It got off to a slow start, we waited 5 min for menus and coffee. I was actually looking for somewhere else to go when the most delightful server came over. The receipt says her name is Kendall. Big smile, super friendly, we immediately liked her! She got us coffee and water right away and took our order as we knew what we wanted. We both had omelets that were just what you would expect. Good portion of hash browns came with it. Order came quickly and was just right. Ok, the butter on the toast looks like squeeze butter but it was good. I would definitely return for another Saturday breakfast. read more

I always love coney, so I was happy to give this a try while I was in town. This is actually for two visiits. The first visit was for breakfast after a long Friday night out with friends. Not all of us were in good shape. I was though so i was happy to eat. The omlettes are large and stuffed with goodies. I walked away stuffed and happy. The others in our group gave similar reviews. The second visit was for lunch. I never even opened the menu because our server informed us the special was two coney dogs and fries. It was cheap, I believe like six or seven dollars, not exactly sure. The coney sauce was good. The dogs were solid, and the fries were tasty. Overall a very good experience. read more

I would honestly give this place an extremely disappointing rating. I have visited this place often but I do not visit because their food is excellent. I visit because I am a single man who enjoys visiting with one of their servers. This young man was always friendly, remembered what I ordered and would chat about my life, my family, daily life and sports. He knows my name and cared about me. I loved to watch him move around the restaurant and talk to all of the other elderly people and people who were alone. He was the best server hands down in the area. I will never go back there. The way they treated him is to their detriment. He brought them business. He brought joy to so many who have been so lonely . Especially during the pandemic. Something I've noticed on Yelp! is that when an average place gets one or two stars, it's almost always from someone out of state--and I mean FAR from Michigan. Just an observation. This isn't splashy dining. It's a diner, in the old "Villegas" spot. Even has the same dining room furniture & decor. Villegas was expensive, high end dining (for the Lansing area anyway). This is the polar opposite. It's decent food--I've only had dinner here once, but I'll go back again. I had the gyro platter and a cup of tomato Florentine soup. It was tasty and worth the price. My husband had the fish platter (i.e., fish & chips)--also decent, not superb, but good. We shared a piece of turtle cheesecake. I think the soup and the cheesecake were from a vendor like GFS, but that's ok--for me, it's the taste that counts. Friends invited us to breakfast here and I was skeptical after reading most of the reviews, considering how they varied. It's a seat yourself kind of place. It was loud, so if you are hoping to have a quite breakfast, this isn't for you. I am pleased to say we all loved the food! The corn beef has omelet was the best. I liked the fact that there weren't many potatoes in it and the Swiss cheese was gooey. They serve large portions and very quick. Hubby loved the country skillet. The waffles are huge and have a sweet taste. About the only complaint I had was our waitress.....she only appeared once to our table after we ordered, dropping off the food. I did try to get her attention to tell her about a problem, but he were in the far back of the restaurant and she just didn't bother to come over. Worst dining experience we've had in a long time. First time here and we will never return. There were 5 of us eating, two adults and three kids. Waitress waited 15 minutes to take our drink order. We were there at dinner and when we walked in, there were two other tables besides us. A gentleman walked in ten minutes after us and his drink order was taken before ours, as he sat down! At the 25 minute mark as we are ready to leave, our orders are taken. When the food got there, It was DISGUSTING. My bacon was clearly made earlier that morning, It was dry and crumbly. The waitress waited 7 minutes to bring the youngest at the table his food (he's 3 and by now crying) and when It was served It was so hot, It burned my husband's hands breaking It up into small bite size pieces. Took the waitress being asked twice for ketchup. She never asked how our food tasted. Probably knew It was garbage. My husband's olive burger was supposed to be cooked medium and was burned. Literally. The bun was soggy and flat like someone had pushed It flat with their hand. My sausage gravy literally tasted as if It had been too close to something that got sprayed with cleaner.
