HIGH QUALITY MEATS! I love their ribeye ends! They're tender and delicious!…read more The service is amazing. They were so helpful and taught me how to order steaks properly. For my first time order, they were friendly and adjustable. It's very clean inside and I they have all the meats available through a glass.

The half hour drive won't deter me one bit from coming back. And that's half an hour both ways. :-D…read more All the parking spaces in the front were full but along the building to the right there were a lot more spaces. Nice and wide too. This place might be bigger than you think, like it was for me. Even though it was Memorial Day weekend, on a Saturday no less, the place was absolutely packed but it was still super clean and all items were neatly arranged as well. I picked out one each of Prime Ribeye, Prime NY Strip and Prime Filet. Didn't cook them till Sunday night and they cooked up super flavorful, juicy and tender. They even have prepared food to go here and after getting my meat order the butcher was kind enough to offer me samples of the Ranch Chicken Wings, Habanero Wings, and the Birria. All of them were really good but the Birria melted in my mouth. I think I just looked at the butcher and said Wow, waited a bit, then said Wow two more times. Forget the local restaurants. If I'm ever in the area looking for a place to eat, I wouldn't hesitate to come in here and get that food-to-go. PS. Even the driver that blocked me from getting over to the exit, forcing me to the next exit, which made me drive miles out of my way, couldn't erase how good this place is. And those food samples were just the icing on the cake. Speaking of icing, I gotta track down some cake now. :-P

After eating at several Argentinian restaurants recently, I've been on a chimichurri kick. I have…read moretried chimichurri sauces from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but they aren't really very authentic. A friend recommended seeing what El Gaucho might have, so I visited the next day. The market is easy to spot with a big street sign out front. There are only two parking spots in front, one is a handicapped space. There's plenty of parking around the back though. When you walk in, you will see the main market with lots of items and brands I've never seen before. Slightly to the right is their deli counter with lots of meats, cheeses, and other miscellaneous items. To the right of the entrance is a dining area, and another counter where you can order sandwiches, empanadas, pizza, French fries, and drinks. I was laser focused on getting the chimichurri and leaving since I was short on time. It is in plastic bottles in plain view on on top of the deli counter. I purchased the regular variety, but they also have a spicy version. I could already tell this was going to be way better than the other two sauces I tried. I've had it on a steak, and on my breakfast scrambled eggs, and it's in a whole different league from the grocery versions I tried. It looks just like a restaurant chimichurri, oil based with lots of herbs and spices. I just had a nice filet mignon with chimichurri at a good Argentinan restaurant last week, and this chimichurri is about 90% as good. I moved it from the plastic bottle it comes in to a glass jar which will hopefully help preserve it longer, and store it in the refrigerator. I now have no reason to look elsewhere for chimichurri. My friend visits here periodically and says the sandwiches are excellent. I'll have to return again to try one, get more chimichurri, and explore the market and deli to see what other goodies they have.

There is also a small diner where you can enjoy the delicious foods or some wine and beer while you sit and discuss who is the most legendary footballer (soccer). This place used to be one of my favorite meat markets, which makes this experience even more…read moredisappointing. Today we decided to give them another chance instead of doing our usual one-hour drive to buy quality meat. Unfortunately, it was a mistake. We purchased about 5 pounds of picaña, priced at $13 per pound, expecting a premium cut from a market that promotes itself as one of the best around. What we received was mostly fat. A proper picaña should have a fat cap, but this was excessive -- large portions were simply not usable meat. For the price we paid, the quality was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the store is advertising meat specials at $9 per pound, but once you're there, you're told that picaña is "no longer part of the special," even though it's still being promoted in a way that suggests otherwise. That felt misleading. At this point, we would much rather continue making the one-hour drive to purchase quality meat elsewhere because we only buy the best and expect honesty and consistency when paying premium prices. Sadly, this visit confirmed that standards have gone downhill. We won't be returning.

Picked the prime filet mignon since I wanted something more lean and she gave me the perfect cut. I also picked some lemon peppercorn butter to top my steak with. Displayed in a shiny cold case that is expertly manned by a friendly, informative staff, there is every cut of meat...they even have quail if you ask! They also have a deli where you can order huge, hearty, delicious sandwiches (you always want it on ciabatta since white & wheat bread won't be able to handle all the oil & vinegar, pesto, mustard) to go! These are $14 sandwiches but worth it! Our sequence of events: We ordered #4 and #6 Shopped for dinner (ribeyes, filets, asparagus, red bliss potatoes, garlic bread) Picked up our takeout sandwiches Impulsively picked up 2 bags of chips that were near the front Paid for everything at the register Finally got home to enjoy all the delicious foods we got from the Butchery!
