I went here the other day for a manicure prior to going to a wedding in Truckee. There was no one inside when I went and I was able to be taken right away. My nail tech was nice and very efficient. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of my gel nails already chipped and it has only been 3 days. Also on their website it said the gel manicure was $40 and they charged me $45 instead. One other thing to note is they only accept cash for tips. read more

Expensive and disappointing. This was my third time giving this place a chance, and unfortunately the quality still hasn't improved. The gel work was thick and clumpy and polish was left on my skin. The attention to detail just isn't there. I went back the next day to fix a gel bubble that had already popped, and instead of being helpful, I was met with attitude. After only one week, my hard gel nails popped off like press-ons. Very disappointed. I can't recommend this salon. read more

Unfortunately I wasn't happy with my nails. I did a dip manicure because of my nails thinning, but the gentleman who helped me did not evenly dip my nails, nor did he clean the sides or file the powder down enough to leave them smooth. He also didn't clean my cuticles and instead painted over them. read more

I'm disappointed with my experience. I chose a gel color and was told I needed something brighter, the tech didn't approve of my pale pink choice. Then I was shown a menu to choose a pedicure option. After I chose my pedicure ($55 option) and the pedicure was complete, I was told it was an additional $15 because I chose gel. I wish I was told that when I selected the $55 option. I may have chosen a cheaper package as I am on a budget. I opted to tip with cash and put the rest on my card because I hadn't brought enough in cash for both. I signed off on a $70 payment and I have been charged more than that on my card. I can go to Sassy Nail for a gel pedicure for $55, with a hot stone massage included and the product looks way better. I love Sassy Nail and will only go there from now on. Their staff is friendlier and the pedicure turns out much better. read more

When I asked to make my big toe nail straight/even she laughed and said my nail was too short. It wasn't/isn't. On the pink & white french manicure she did the white too shallow. I asked to have it thicker. She did not want to do that. Not enough top coat was applied, so less than a week later it is chipping off and it is gel. (!) Worst of all I got the corner of my mouth skin ripped off in a lip wax. Yet she missed waxing the center of my lip. I begin to wonder how many of the people working there are actually licensed. None of the services done were done well. There was still rough skin along cuticle & sides of fingers & toes. Massage was unenthusiastic. There are only a few options in Truckee. I will drive to Reno for services. read more

Convenient place to do your nails while on vacation on Tahoe, but work completed was a bit sloppy and not thoroughly done. Surprisingly enough, my gel manicures lasted for almost three weeks without chipping, just overall application could've been a bit more accurate. read more

I'm new to dip but either they didn't put enough coats or their powders are bad. The nail color is see through and inconsistent. Looks amateur and unfinished and I didn't notice it until I walked outside. However the Gel pedicure and rest of service to remove old acrylic and shape the nails was good. read more

This place is absolutely terrifying. It smells like a toxic chemicals with all of the acrylic dust and zero ventilation. My gel pedicure didn't cure properly and peeled 2 hours after we got home. The acrylic nails my daughters got peeled off in 2 days. Run, don't walk from this place. read more

Donna and the others are magnificen. My nails are always beautiful when Donna does them. Rose does an excellent pedicure. Donna waxes my whole face , leaves it so smooth. I have been going to Linda nails for 14+ years. In my opinion they are the best nail salon in town. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Linda's Nails and Spa. I walked in for a quick pedicure, and they had me sit and wait for 20 minutes without any updates. When I finally asked how much longer it would be, they told me I'd have to wait an additional 15 minutes because they had a reservation at noon. I understand that appointments take priority, but the way they handled it felt really unwelcoming. If they're not willing to accommodate walk-ins, they should just say so upfront instead of wasting people's time. It was clear that walk-ins are not a priority for them, and I won't be coming back. read more

I recently got engaged and wanted to get my nails done before showing off my ring and taking photos. Unfortunately I had just cut my nails down to stubs the night before! I went in and they gave me beautiful nails and did a great job. I was afraid they might be a little long but they did a great job and were very nice and I figured I'd be fine. Fast forward to a week of struggling to get my contacts in and out and I knew they needed to be shorter. I called and they had me come in that day and shortened, reshaped, and did another coating of gel for free! I tried to insist on paying but settled on a tip instead. There is zero care and pride in their work. It's a Wham! Bam and cut your nails and don't care about the shape and it's like on some nail polish and it doesn't matter if it's bubbled or touching the skin... Just get it done and charge a price for it... The place is not particularly delightful to be in or clean or restful... Just one of those if you are desperate, need a pedicure... You're gonna get worse than the basics... What a bummer... read more

Just... no. I'm local and I've been here 3 times when 'the other place' is too busy or closed. I went once for a pedi which was not the worst, but was definitely too sloppy for someone to charge money for. I went once for gel mani which had streaks, lumps, baldish spots and a super rude manicurist who blamed me. And I went once for pedi / leg wax. I was literally yelled at when I asked to have the pedi before the leg wax, then lightly burned during the leg wax and told (again) it was my fault for wanting the pedi first. Rude. Sloppy. And honestly just downright mean. read more

After multiple visits to Linda's nails, hoping that it would get better, I've come to the conclusion that this is an unredeemable third-rate place. Examples: 1. Filth. A thick coat of dust and grime covers most surfaces. More importantly, metal tools used on customers are not necessarily clean, sometimes visibly dirty. 2. Deficient customer service. Examples: I made an appointment w a specific nail tech and arrived five minutes early, only to have her take a walk-in. I asked to pay in advance, to protect my nails, and was refused. I asked to have excess polish on my skin removed, and was refused. I asked to have the excess lotion on my finger nails removed before the base coat was applied, and was refused. 3. Quality. Every manicure and pedicure I've received at Linda's has begun chipping or peeling within one or two days. Polish is also applied unevenly, so the color is inconsistent across the nail. Enough hoping things will improve. This much evidence demonstrates that Linda's is a thoroughly bad choice. read more

I spent more than 2 hours for French manicure and pedicure. The pedicure is amateur at best, the manicure already chipped in less than 1 day! The guy was trying to get the French manicure lines smooth but wasn't able, another lady was able to do a better job, but the products they use are obviously not the greatest quality. If you want gel, go elsewhere... perhaps for simple normal polish they would do a good job. Two stars because they were nice, were able to fit me in, and tried to fix it. read more

Noticed a lot of red flags in here yesterday, not all the nail techs have a license on the wall and that was a big concern for me but I decided to give it a chance anyways I thought maybe they're getting new frames or new licenses in the mail but I wish I didn't give it a chance. I left with a full set of acrylic nails that I wish I had never payed for, they are thick and lumpy and quite frankly look like a child did my nails. It had knocked down my confidence as I feel I look like an eagle with talens than a pretty girl with nails. I have been to this place before around Xmas time in years prior to COVID and I loved it because the mani and pedi lasted for a long time. However, I went on Friday 12/23/22 to get my nails done with my niece and system in law. On 12/26/22 the nail polish of two nails were fading and two other ones broke. My niece and I got dip powder, her dip powder was done by one of the ladies there with long black hair. My dip powder was done by the guy and isn't good. My sister in law got acrylics done by the guy and they are good. We all got gel pedicure and they are good as well. This place is not bad but the quality ... I felt it was down. Also they just do things on you without telling you if there is extra price, nor do they offer you add ons... they just do it. For instance my sister in law got the hot wax on her feet which makes your feet feel more smooth and I didn't, nor did I get offered to do it. read more

Visiting from out of town and needed a manicure prior to family members wedding. Basic French gel nails is not a large request to ask for... the expected outcome was 1) way more expensive than other salons in the area, and 2) an atrocious result with uneven lines that certainly deserves a refund or another manicure, on the house. I went in for a mani/pedi this morning and am not impressed. During the gel removal process she caught my skin several times, to the point of bleeding. She also left hints of the old polish and some dirt under my nails. All of which I couldn't see until I was in better light. It was $60 for a basic mani/pedi with no new polish plus $10 to remove gel plus $2 credit card fee. If I'm paying $10 to remove polish shouldn't you take off at least $10 if I'm not getting new polish? Won't return. read more

I walked in to Linda's without an appointment, and they helped me right away even though they were busy. I got an acrylic fill to fix the poorly-done fill I had gotten elsewhere, and the gentleman who helped me did a wonderful job! I chose almond, and the shape was perfect. They have a great color selection, everyone is friendly, and the prices can't be beat. read more

My boyfriend got a haircut with Le the barber and we are extremely pleased. He was funny, providing great conversation and very meticulous about his artistry. My stylist never introduced herself, so while she was nice enough, I don't even know her name (and she isn't listed on the website, either). I got a simple shampoo & blowout, and during the shampoo she used the hottest water I've had in a salon. She did not ask me if the temperature was okay, if I had a preference, or check in with me at all -- and I'm the kind of person who likes a super hot shower, so I was surprised by how hot the water was even to me (it was fine for me, but I know that is way beyond lots of people's heat tolerance level). I am sure she would have changed the temperature if asked, but never in my life has a stylist just not checked in on that during a wash. The blowout itself really did come out nice, but I was also surprised by how old the salon is. I think me and my stylist were the only people under like 60 years old in there, so it may be more geared towards an elderly demographic. I am glad I got the stylist I did, because I have never felt so disrespected in a hair salon before (by the other staff) and am honestly still in shock with how little regard the employees had for a customer. Some of them were sitting down and waiting for timers, so it's not like no one was available to greet me, either. Not to mention, I had to wait more than 15 minutes after my appointment time to be acknowledged -- it's not asking a lot to simply be informed if they are running behind. Especially since the man next to me was given that courtesy and respect! I would never go back and would not recommend it, despite the fact that my hair did come out nice at the end of the day. It was just such a bad experience overall, though my stylist really did seem sweet (she is the sole reason I gave 2 stars and not 1), unlike the rest of the staff. The salon itself is also tiny, crowded, hot (they seemingly have no A/C and just kept the door open), and not well ventilated. Save your time and money -- there are lots of other great options in town.

He didn't think to bring flip flops because he thought those were provided and he ended up having to walk around the locker room and hot tub room barefoot. Not a deal breaker, obviously, but he was kinda bummed. Just a note about the ladies locker room layout and the lockers. The door opens right into the locker space where one would typically change clothes. So, when the door opens, anyone outside the door could see in. The layout of the hallway keeps the opposite gender from being near the ladies entrance and vice versa and also creates a low foot traffic pattern which seems intentional. However most locker areas I have used have a turn or a wall that blocks the changing area from view of the entrance. There is a bathroom and two showers to change in, however if the facilities are ever really busy this could get a bit crowded. Also, the lockers may have a way to be locked but I wasn't told how to do that. Overall these hiccups didn't take away from the 5 star experience. I'll definitely continue to recommend.

Had a wax here the other day and I'm not sure if the wax wasn't hot enough or too hot, an extra layer of skin also came off with wax, have a small abrasion from it. Love here locally, would not recommend. Staff were all extremely friendly when I walked in, they took me back immediately. read more

The studio is super dusty/dirty with lots of chipping paint, old magazines, clutter, a tell tale sign of how much someone cares about their buisness. The wash basin is crammed in a corner which is chipping and has black marks on the wall from dirty shoes and feet that get pressed up against it, no one bothered to paint it or wash the dirty black spot on the wall? Maybe the $150 could go towards some paint or some windex. You couldn't pay me to come back here.
