I visited AlpineGold Spa this past week and was very happy with the services I received! First, the location is perfect! The studio is super cute and right in downtown Truckee. I got a brow tint and wax as well as a lash lift and I let Merritt know it was my first time getting a lash lift. She was super personable and made me feel super comfortable. My lashes turned out amazing and I was super happy with my brows as well. Next time I am in Truckee I'll be sure to stop by for another service! I booked online an express dermaplane facial. It was perfect. Merritt is extremely friendly and welcoming. We started on time n never felt rushed. So, I see this being a 5 star place once all the kinks in the new nail offering is worked out. The color selection could be a bit broader in both gel and non-gel options. But I also like funky colors so there is that. At current, there are comfy chairs, a relaxed and quiet atmosphere with a view of downtown from the window, and a pleasant vibe. They are using basins for water so the risk of getting funky toes is really low. The downside, however, is that the water goes cool fast and since the nail specialist has to carry the basin to and from... it isn't super full. You know, cuz water is heavy! Our nail specialist, Holly, was WONDERFUL. Super sweet, talented, and was great with my daughter! My almost 11 year old is a bit nervous with new people touch her at all but she warmed up to Holly super quickly. Holly did a great job on both of our nails but didn't have nail art tools with her. In the grand scheme of things, not a big deal. It was just a little bit of a disappointment since we do pedicures so infrequently now and we like a little nail art when we do go. I will return again and update the review when we go. I expect everything to be ironed out and this to reach 5 stars for sure. read more

I had a fantastic DiamondGlow by SkinMedica with owner Merrritt! The studio is so cute and relaxing with a great downtown location. My skin has been incredibly dry and finicky since moving to the mountains but Merritt helped revive it. She used great products, listened to my concerns, and helped me achieve the results I was looking for, all in an luxurious spa setting. Will be going back 1000%. Great place for locals or someone who is on vacation and wants to treat themselves. 5 stars! read more

I came in for an airbrush tan. Pro: Nice customer service, clean, great location, nice decor. Cons: I have had spray tans from 10+ locations and this one had the strongest scent I've ever experienced. It was so strong that the scent woke up at 1:30am, and after 30 sleepless mins I had to take a shower at 2am. The feeling was also sticky and unpleasant. I was definitely unable to go about my evening because I was so uncomfortable. Lastly, for the next 5 days I was had stains/dark coloration on my chest, hands, feet, and ribs. It was pretty embarrassing to be in a bathing suit. Conclusion: if the owner changed the tanning product I would go back read more

On a recent trip to Truckee, I found this gem of a place and had the most incredible facial of my life. I generally have good skin but had some dry patches lately and just needed to feel rejuvenated and pampered in general and wow, the amazing Merritt (owner and the BEST aesthetician Ive ever had) customized the 90 minute facial to my needs, made me feel like I was on a much needed vacation from life, and my skin just glowed afterwards. It was so worth it and I now want to go back to Truckee JUST to have another one! As women we tend to out ourselves last, I'm so glad I took the time for this and bonus - Merritt has a fantastic array of candles, Alo Yoga activewear and various products that she personally recommends - I bought a body oil that contains CBD and it is an absolute gamechanger! Nice facial and convenient cozy location. Appreciated not being "up-sold" to buy a bunch of new products. The cons: I wish during the 15-20 min lying alone time while mask was sitting over entire face including eyes, that an arm, hand, foot massage was done to better fill that lengthy "dark dead time." I've gotten my eyebrows done and a Brazilian wax here about 4 times now and have left every appointment completely satisfied. Merritt is incredibly sweet and a great conversationalist. Her shop is clean, chic, and warm. You can tell she put a lot of thought into the products she sells and the ambiance she wants to customers to walk into. My girls and I were heading up to Tahoe for a few days and I was on the hunt for a place to get our nails done without having to go into Squaw or one of the big resorts to get the job done. Boy am I glad I looked. This place immediately caught my eye and it did not disappoint. Tucked away upstairs from the main street of downtown Truckee the space is light and bright with beautiful views of the town and mountains in the distance. Holly is super sweet and took great care of us. While one of person was getting a mani the other two relaxed in comfy chairs in their cozy lounge. I also perused the boutique which is packed with unique spa items and locally made treasures. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area to try some other things on their spa menu! read more

I haven't done anything for myself in a long time since having my baby who is now 16 mo. My eyebrows definitely were showing their lack of attention. I had no idea how to shape or tend to my wild brows but Merritt came to my rescue! Not only was she able to shape my caterpillar brows, but she also taught me how to fill in and where I need to let hairs grow in to better shape them. My new FAVORITE spa! I've had two wonderful experiences here. I had a relaxing facial right after they opened and I will definitely be going back for another.
