Today was my lucky day. I needed a small, nice hostess gift and didn't have any phenomenal ideas. Fortunately, the TJ Maxx in Orange was well merchandised. As I darted into the store and began my usual quick lap around the home decor merchandise, I came across some fabulous end caps. Immediately, the lightbulb went off and I ended up purchasing the perfect gift. The store had a amazing variety of reasonably priced original baskets and colorful seasonal pillows. Stopped at TJ Maxx while shopping in Orange, CT. This store was a little disheveled but the selection was good. There was an ample selection of skincare and makeup but I just really didn't need anything. I was looking for a Longchamp bag but didn't see any. They might only be at the Runway stores and this isn't one of those. In any event I'd return if in the area. read more

Racial profiling at it's best. I went this afternoon to purchase a few items. As I was about to go to the checkout lane, I wanted to make sure I didn't forget anything else I needed so I placed the items on the bench near the checkout lane to check my phone where I had my list. By the way, I was in work attire and heels... well, this white employee dressed in all black calls for "backup" to check out the "suspicious" activity. I then proceeded to the check out to purchase my items and the white lady on the phone says, "ok, she's at the register" then walks away like it was nothing. She was "just doing her job." I wonder if she would have called for back up if I were an older white lady? Or a white teenager? Or a black man with dreads? I find is funny that white people are so quick to judge because of the notion that black people are thieves. Here's a newsflash for you... some of us are hardworking, honest, and have more important things to do that steal at TJ Maxx #byefelicia I suggest you check out the TJMaxx in North Haven and stop by the Target and Chick-fil-A while you're at it. read more

The lady at the register accused me of stealing my sons hat. She was extremely rude. Do not recommend this place

working there is absolutely terrible. they treat their employees like worthless slaves and add too much pressure on them. the store is constantly a mess and overstocked with barely any room for shoppers or employees to maneuver. managers and supervisor/coordinators take no responsibility for their own actions and blame those who are under them for their wrongdoings and they are powerless against that. one of the employees was in tears and no regard was given. absolutely terrible place to work and shop. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

I have never reviewed on Yelp but I had such a horrible experience at this TJ Maxx in Orange, CT. The manager was extremely rude. I went to purchase a children's romper that was in the clearance section. It looked to originally have been a 2-pack but was on a hanger by itself. (Presumably why it was in the clearance section). There were 3 other identical rompers that were also hanging as singles on hangers in the clearance, so I thought nothing of it. There were no price tags on any of the 4 single rompers so I brought one to the checkout to purchase. The cashier called the manager to run a price check and she rolled her eyes and ran over to the children's section. As she rushed by I informed her I found it in clearance in hopes that would help her find a price on a similar item. She did not listen. She came back and had found the 3 other rompers and said she would not sell the single romper to me because it was supposed to be a 2-pack. I replied asking if she would rather miss the sale than sell the single romper to me. The manager rudely replied "YES!" I replied that most likely the rompers are in clearance because they are missing the other half to the pack. She wouldn't make eye contact with me at all. I was so frustrated at this point that I said I'd like to just cancel my entire purchase (I had about 15 other items already scanned and in the shopping bag). She said "GREAT!!!" with a fake, creepy smile. I have never been treated like such from a manager in all my life. I am a loyal TJ Maxx customer and am appalled at what happened at this store. It's so frustrating that the manager in charge was the rude and immature person to speak with and there was no one else above her that I could resolve the issue with. This is a recently opened location and corporate should consider reviewing this manager ASAP as she should not be the primary decision maker. Since when is customer service not their main priority? If you shop here just cross your fingers your won't cross paths with the female manager. read more

Compared to other TJ Maxx's I've been to this is not my favorite location. I've been here many times and I don't really ever find anything cute to buy. I haven't figured out what day they bring in new merchandise. Their shoe department is not the best either. The location itself it a bit outdated. They should do a bit of remodeling and make the location a little bit more exciting. For now, I'll keep shopping at the Marshall's in Milford instead. read more

This TJMaxx location does not have a Home Goods section, so it's one of the smaller stores. However, I pretty much went there on the right day. Everything was organized by color and size. Alot of the sales associates were putting out new merchandise and organizing the different departments. The jewelry department is always something to look through because they have almost every kind of jewelry or watch for everyone at the right and almost all the time a more affordable price. I love perusing though the many aisles for a great deal. It's really important not to miss the clearance sections in each department because you'll never know what great deals you can find. It could be the dress that you've been thinking about last month that you didn't purchase, the vase that you thought might be too big for the living room, the studded loafers from last season that you can still rock this season. For those who are on a budget or just like to keep more money in your wallet, TJMaxx is the place to go to be fashionable. This particular location can be easily overlooked since it is in a huge plaza next to the gigantic DSW and behind Applebees. However, since there's only a few of each item at the store if you don't act quick and head to the register fast, then you might have missed a bargain. read more
