The worst experience I've ever had with a company. and their local store. We've been loyal T-Mobile customers for over 10 years, but I was charged for a SIM card and service that was immediately canceled in-store because the SIM card was incompatible with my phone. Despite the cancellation, and proof of cancellation. I later received a $117.37 bill from a collection agency. When I contacted T-Mobile customer support, they referred me to the Davis store where the purchase was made. The Davis store then directed me to the Woodland location, but they were not willing to help resolve the issue. I drove to Woodland, they told me that the Davis store needs to take care of this, and called the Davis store themselves- again, the Davis store was not willing to help, they told us there is currently no manager and they can't help. I called T-Mobile's help line again to ask if I could receive a credit if I paid the collection agency. The representative acknowledged that none of this was my fault, but still said they couldn't do anything to resolve the issue. "That it was out of their hand now!" I have a receipt for the cancelled SIM card order. I believe this is unethical, irresponsible customer treatment by the Davis store, T-Mobile, and possibly illegal. read more

I recently bought a iPhone 14 at the store. Rude staff ill-informed staff. They set me up on a payment plan for the phone. I said I wanted to pay for the phone they said I couldn't and put me on a payment plan anyway. They said that the phone would come to the store and I would pick it up and they would contact me. It did not come to the store. It came to my house. I was gone away so I had to go back and wait for it because UPS had tried twice before to deliver it. I was promised a 350 payment for my old iPhone 12 and now T-Mobile is saying only 250 I will never ever buy a phone from T-Mobile again if I'm going to buy an iPhone or if you're going to buy an iPhone buy it directly from Apple. read more

The free phone offer seems like a great deal. We traded in one iPhone XS for iPhone 15pro. The Samsung 22s for the iPhone 15 pros. The deal is supposed to be $999.99 spread over 24 months. However, T-Mobile have these unexplainable charges, it ends up not saving on "promotions for new phone!!" The Samsung costs less than the iPhone. However, THE monthly credit for the line with the iPhone IS LESS THAN the equipment charge. So we are paying rather than getting the iPhone for free???!!!! Be very careful and read your bill. Customer service wastes over two hours every time I call. Every single representative are overseas. Every time I call, each rep says something different for the same unexplainable charge!!! The manager (Dan) was not just unhelpful for a simple inquiry, but was over-the-top rude, aggressively condescending and seemed to be on acting out some bizarre "power trip" that had us leaving the store in minutes. Their manager is definitely underpaid for the amount of work that they do, but the service and experience could not have been better. If you have nothing to do for the next two decades, come to this store. Employees will "check you in" and tell you there's a 10-15 wait, then proceed to help the same 3 customers for the next hour. If you want your TMobile Tuesdays perks, they refuse to give it to you without a sales pitch. So, a 30 second visit becomes an hour long wait for a sales rep to pitch things you don't need or want. The sign on their door says they they open at 9am and their Yelp page also says their store opens at 9am. So I show up at 9am, try the door and it's locked. I look inside and I see a group of about 3 employees blasting music and just watching me try the door. They showed no desire to come let me know what was going on. They were content just joking around inside. Another customer shows up and we're both confused. The employees made no move to go outside to talk to us, they just kept holding up 10 fingers to us as if me and the other customer standing outside would understand what that meant. The employee finally came outside after I waved him over and told us that they would open at 10am because their system was down. Terrible customer service. We walked in and were barely greeted. We waited for 45 before anyone even "checked" us in and this only happened because we asked. The 3 employees were UN knowledgeable, seemed very annoyed and clearly could not multitask. They continued to go back and forth and ask each other questions the entire time we were there. It was unclear as to who was in charge. I totally understand that they're with customers but one would think they would break away to see what we needed but that didn't happen. After 60 minutes of us waiting 2 customers that had been there since we walked in began debating on a phone color. This would have been the perfect time for the associate to break away and ask us if we needed anything but this didn't happen. Who has time for this? From time to time, it seems Joe K and I will end up at a T-Mobile store for some reason or another. Since T-Mobile is our cell phone carrier, going to one of the many conveniently located stores gives me peace of mind to be able to talk to someone in person to answer questions, trouble shoot a glitch, or just pay the phone bill. We happened to be shopping around downtown Davis and decided to visit this location. The bill was due and finding them open on a Sunday afternoon was kind of a life saver. But besides being convenient, the nice young man who helped us was very knowledgeable on our interest in making a future purchase on some other upgraded technology. It's sometimes hard for me to accept that as I have gotten older, how little I know or keep up on all the latest gadgets and how difficult it is for me to learn how to use them. But they seemed to be understanding and patient as we asked probably silly questions. I came to the end of my seven day T-Mobile test drive and returned the phone to the Davis store. On entering the store two employees cheerfully greeted me and quickly began the process of returning the phone. I had a lot of questions and both of them were very knowledgeable about the plans and service. They spent more than a half hour with me answering my newbie questions about smart phones. I may soon be switching from Verizon's dumb phone plan to T-Mobile's smartphone service due to the test drive and the staff at this store. I had earlier in the week stopped at the Woodland store and was told that to get service in Alaska during a vacation I would have to get a European sim card. When I told the woman that Alaska was in the United States, she still insisted that I would need a European sim card in order to make calls. The Davis store staff when asked the same question assured me that even though the service in Alaska is not provided by T-Mobile, since it is part of the United States, there is no charge for roaming calls or data. T-Mobile would have lost a sale had I relied just on the Woodland store staff's knowledge of the product. read more

I would leave ZERO stars if I could. HORRIBLE customer service. I went there twice within the past month, to ask about switching from a prepaid plan to a postpaid one. One of the girls at the counter was not only extremely unhelpful and rude but also either highly incompetent or a scammer. Both times she tried to sell me the Magenta MAX plan ($85/mo) when I actually was keen to get the Magenta for $70/mo. I told her I needed to switch due to an upcoming trip to Europe, in order to be able to use my phone oversea. She outright lied about international charges, claiming that when abroad with Magenta I would pay $3/minute per call, while Magenta MAX would only charge 75 cents/minutes. I was sure this was not the case because I had done a side-by-side comparisons of the two plans online, and when I told her so she said "online they don't give this kind of information but I remember this off the top of her head". She also told me that unlimited data was going to last only two weeks abroad on Magenta, while with Magenta MAX I would have unlimited data for up to 3 months. And I could go on about other false information she gave me, as well as the extremely condescending attitude. I then went to the Woodland store, and of course completely different story. Great customer service, very helpful. The $3/min vs $0.75/min charges while abroad, as well as the unlimited data and texts info I was given in the Davis store, was total bs. Plus they did the plan switch for me, including providing a new SIM, which otherwise I would have to get online and receive by mail next week. Do yourselves a favor, travel 15 more min and go to the T-mobile Woodland store if you don't want to be scammed. read more

I called in about a billing issue - the previous person who had helped me at this T-Mobile location told me that my accessories would be free through a promotion. This turned out to not be the case; a change in my phone plan simply "credited" me for the charges incurred by financing these items (UE Boom 2, Powerbeats headphones, phone case, glass screen protector, and portable charger - all amounting to over $400 in financed items). I was initially quite upset because I felt I'd been misled. Lacy took the time to look over my past billing statements, explain the charges and credits, and called me back to follow up about these charges. I feel as I have been scammed. I have been bait-and-switched -- either as a result of questionable practices for commissions or incompetence to their own corporate policies. Please disregard all of the kind words that I have left for T-Mobile. As stated in my original review, I came here asking for a promotion that offered 2 free lines on my T-Mobile account. What nobody told me was that because my account was under a corporate discount, I was ineligible for the said promotion. I was told to wait 2 billing cycles before any credit would be applied and changes would be reflected so no red flags were raised when my bill nearly doubled. In the past 4 months, employees in-store and via customer support repeatedly claimed that the lines would be free. I had purchased their SIM cards and even a new tablet to use with one of the free lines. It turns out that this had not been the case and I am SOOL. Went in trying to buy an iPhone 6 for the full price for a prepaid plan I already have. Given that this is a "Branded" store they were not selling the phones to customers using prepaid. The staff didn't seem to have any authority to work with me and the overall experience was utterly frustrating and absurd. That T-Mobile would allow some its stores the ability to turn away a fully paying customer does not seem right. In any event, I went to the T-Mobile store in West Sac by the Ikea and they took care of me! I told them I had a prepaid plan expecting them to stonewall me, but the guy looked at me and said "we have you covered". I was out of the store with my fully paid iPhone 6 in hand within 10 minutes. They even had the exact color, GB capacity and phone size that I wanted. Even though I live in Davis I will be skipping this store and make use of the store by Ikea. Too bad really, but what can you do. The customer service in Davis, in terms of building rapport and being attentive to customers, was not bad per se, but compared to what I experienced 15 minutes away in West Sac the Davis location is sorely lacking. read more

I recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile. At the store, Alfonso helped me out. Logistics-wise, I got what I needed to be complete, but I felt my visit was way longer than needed. All of the employees were just TOO talkative. When I want something done, I don't talk about my personal life and I want stuff to be straight to the point. I'm all about good customer service and making the customer feel welcome, but I don't want to be standing there listening to a bunch of dudes shoot the shit and talk about their personal lives while I wait for the logistics of switching phones to be completed. This was around 5-6 pm so I was already extremely hungry during the whole process. Not to mention, I really disliked the use of car salesman tactics to try to get me to purchase more features on my phone. I literally said I only want the most basic of features, but I had to listen to a lengthy explanation of other features that I was already gonna say "no" to. It took like 1.5 hours to complete everything. Seriously, why can't phone stores have informative pamphlets anymore? When phone employees write down all of their logistical information on pieces of scratch paper, in illegible handwriting, expecting me to follow with all the definitions, it just looks extremely tacky and unprofessional. I'm not one to be swayed with these tactics--I will only agree to making payments if I know EXACTLY where all the numbers are coming from and why they're being charged. I came back earlier today to discuss some other logistics, and there was a female employee who helped me (didn't catch her name). So helpful and straight to the point. No shady salesperson tactics and no unnecessary discussion about personal life. Literally was out the door in 10 minutes. Employees should be more like her! Came in on a Sunday afternoon to start my own line after my S4 died on me. I was immediately greeted by Ed, who kindly answered all of my questions and guided me through the whole process. Brandon also gave me very valuable input on the different phones, explaining the little differences between the Plus and 6S (I ended up going with the 6s due to my very tiny hands). They also went over plans, charges, cases, giving me price estimates and honest phone reviews and recommendations. I walked out very pleased with the amazing service and my new *working* phone. I've been to other T-Mobile locations before and none compare to the service I received here.
