Went in to buy a I phone case and two staff folks doing nothing other than having a personal conversation between themselves didn't offer to help. if it was my store, I'd fire the both of them. I thought this was a corporate location and made a major mistake in having phones activated here. They slammed the account with services we didn't request or authorize. Clueless about the plan we wanted so they fed us a line of garbage and did what they wanted. It took several hours on the phone with T-Mobile and a trip to the store you should go to, the corporate location in Birmingham, to unravel the mess they created. read more

I've been a customer of this store ever since I moved to Royal Oak in 2012. Yesterday I took my mother in to buy a new phone outright with cash. We explained we were there to get a new phone for her and I was really surprised at the rudeness of the gentleman who assisted us. He started helping another customer who came in after us. Greeting a customer, yes. But putting their transaction before ours without a single word is unacceptable. Beware of the store, I asked for one phone line. When I saw my first bill was more than expected I called the store to ask why. I was told that T-Mobile had added extra charges. This was not true. The store added a second phone line and two tablets to my account. I had to spend a half an hour with the T-Mobile rep to get these things removed. I must preface this with...I am a nice person, I believe in karma, and I try my absolutely best to stay calm and polite when faced with a customer service issue. However, I'm convinced there is a special place in hell for most cell phone sales people...this place is no exception. I have no idea why karma has decided to bite me in the ass via my phone in the past week, but it has. Here is my tale of woe... On Wednesday (1/21/2015), my Galaxy SIII that has been my noble sidekick for 2+ years decided turning on was no longer an option. Seeing as I operate a small business and do not have a house phone, I needed a replacement ASAP. I went to this store because it was near the salon I had a hair appointment at that afternoon, this location is by far not the closest to my house. I know little about current phone technology, and wanted to stick with Samsung because that's what I know. The display of phones was not really working (they claimed there was a power outage earlier), so I ended up picking the only Samsung that was in working order (a Note 4). I was promptly told that I would get "$100 in free accessories" by Brian and Lawrence, the sales people. I was skeptical, but he rushed me into picking a case, SD card, and screen protector because "it's free" and I should "pick whatever" I wanted. Brian proceeds to do normal phone activating stuff, and isn't particularly friendly. He was annoyed that I had 2-step authorization set up on my Gmail account, saying that was "stupid" and "caused a lot of problems" for activating phones. Whatever, I like to be as secure as possible. He tells me how much the phone will be per month (since they apparently work like cars now), and I say okay. Then I'm on my merry way, glad I'm done with Captain Unfriendly (Brian). Fast forward to the next day, my fiance checks our account online, and charges are showing for the "free" accessories in the amount of almost $5/month. Uhm...$5 per month isn't free. It's $5 per month for insanely overpriced accessories, of which I can get the exact same shit on Amazon or Monoprice for MUCH less. Also at this point, I've tried using the camera on the phone multiple times, and it will not focus to take a picture. Enter much frustration, between getting deceived out of $100 by Brian, and spending $750 on a device that doesn't work properly. We didn't have time to address the issue until Sunday. Sunday rolls around, we go to the store, and luckily Brian wasn't working...because if he was, I probably wouldn't have been able to keep my cool. Many moons ago, I worked retail, and saw numerous people get fired for using similar unethical sales techniques. Being taken advantage of just gets me fired up. An unfriendly woman helped me this time. She was able to return the accessories (with the exception of the $35 screen protector). However, her attitude toward the whole situation was that it was my fault for agreeing to pay the monthly amount, therefore I deserved to be charged for accessories. It wasn't Brian's fault that he said the $100 in accessories would be FREE, and then LIED about it. I REPEAT: ADDING SOMETHING TO A MONTHLY BILL IS NOT FREE. *ahem* Sorry...anyway. As far as my defective phone went, she factory reset it and the (motherf***ing) camera immediately started working again. I am skeptical, but she isn't willing to exchange the phone since it was working. We leave, and drive the 40 minutes home. Sure enough, I get home, and the camera starts acting up again with the same exact problem. Here I am, days later, trying to deal with another T-Mobile store (the one in Waterford, spoiler alert: they're owned by the same umbrella of assholes as the Berkley store) just to return or exchange my stupid phone. THIS IS MY NIGHTMARE. read more

I wouldn't give this store or company one star if I had a choice. I went in a few weeks ago and got a written quote of $300 down for 3 new iPhones and $200 a month. Once we decided to go ahead, we went into the store where they STARTED the process of switching our service over. Then the amount down changed to $700! After hearing the $700 price tags to switch service (this took 2 1/2 HOURS of our time while they took other customers instead of finalizing our program). We decided we weren't going to switch at this time. This was NOT what I was quoted. They took the $35 screen protector off my daughters phone and didn't replace it. NOW we have received a bill for $12 for NOT going with their service are THEY SERIOUS? This is NOT ever going to be paid and I'll be going into the store, getting a FREE screen protector to replace the one they removed and getting this bill credited! I have never had a problem with T Mobile until now, but I am extremely disappointed in my last few interactions with this store. My son's phone broke so I came in to replace it. I explained to the sales rep that my budget was maxed out and that I didn't want my bill to go up and to explain my options. He sold us on a phone with a lower monthly payment than the broken phone and told me my bill would be lower! I left happy. Never did he explain how much was remaining on the lease of the broken phone or that I would still be paying the lease on the broken phone as well. A month later, my bill is higher because I'm now paying leases on 2 phones for my son. I called the store and they told me who helped me and that I would have to discuss it with him. I go in at the time they say he will be there and a rep who looks very familiar denies responsibility and then says I could have had the phone fixed cheaply by his cousin and then I could have kept it or traded it in. Pretty much ANY of that information, even the fact that if still be paying off the other lease/how much was remaining, would have been helpful at my first visit before I signed onto another leased phone. I feel totally taken advantage of and will be looking for a new provider. It's ridiculous after not being given accurate information in the first place, they would hold on to a 175 remaining balance on a phone over keeping a customer. Very poor customer service. read more

What a nightmare! These guys are complete scammers. I know that cell phone sales people always try to push the extras, however, this place will just lie to you and tell you they are free...that is until you see your bill. The manager does next to nothing to take accountability for his sales people being unclear or flat out lying to customers. One of the new phones we left the store with, was malfunctioning after 2 hours of use, everyone on plan got a data overage text within 20 minutes of leaving store. This place is garbage, I would go to a corporate store if I could do it over. read more

I have a business account with 8 lines and they charged me more than ordering over the phone and had my phone shipped to the wrong address after EXPLICITLY making sure it went to the correct address. Called to get help they told me to call T-Mobile myself! I'll never go to this store again! Call T-Mobile and order over the phone it's a lot quicker and they don't make mistakes read more

This store was awesome. I had terrible experiences with the TMOBILE in Hazel Pk. The salesperson handled my exchange easily and I didn't even buy the phone from them. I bought a few accessories to go with the phone. They showed me the types of accesories and weren't pushy. I'm going here from now on. They made that Note 7 experience a breeze in comparison. read more

Zero stars if I could. They are nothing but crooks. I took my GS5 phone in that I had been having issues with for the past couple of weeks with constant video steaming problems to see if there was anything they could do. I was simply told that a lot of people bring in the same phone with similar issues. Well, before then, I had never had an issue and assumed it was something on T-Mobile's end. Keep in mind my wife also has the same exact phone on a shared account with me and had also been having similar problems. He said it was an internal issue in my phone and that if I wanted, I could buy a new 500 dollar phone. Oh, but it was free up front. How convenient. No thanks. I later found out that the issue had nothing to do with my phone and that was due to a new feature that T-Mobile had recently added called Data Binge that helps to save data by limiting your HD video streaming to only 480p if that's something that you can use and have a limited data supply which I don't. All you have to do switch off the option on your online account. Really? Seriously? That's all this was? Good thing I know a little bit more about stuff like this. Someone else might have been more easily fooled. He didn't even bother looking into something of this manner under my account when I'm sure he clearly knows about it. All this guy cared about was selling me a new phone for 500 dollars. What a rip-off. Don't go to these people. Stick to calling T-Mobile customer service themselves if you have phone issues, they won't actually rip you off like these people would. read more
