It's a very clean, comforting, and cozy space. You can tell the staff are so kind. I loved all the classic dishes - xian jian baos (aka pan-fried baos) were crispy and the best I've ever had (even compared to the bay area), beef noodle soup, and sesame noodles. It's exactly what you would hope for with these dishes and exceeded my expectations from a small mom and pop restaurant like this. I also loved the won ton noodle soup - the wontons had great flavor and tasted like it was home-made (in the best way) with enough shrimp to make me happy. Their menu included a number of different kinds of teas, which I would have loved to try. It would be great for someone who enjoys tea. We sat through the prime dinner time on a weeknight and the tables were eventually filled but did not notice any wait for anyone who came by. We found free street parking about a half a block away and waited for Jade Rabbit to open at 11am. We didn't have reservations, but we're seated immediately. The decor was great! Some items were not available and our server recited the list that included chow funn. Shucks! She came back later and said that the chow funn was, in fact, available... yay! The Puto Pao Bunny Bao had an unusual flavor - maybe the brown sugar can be omitted because the black garlic and vegan pork might be fine without it? My wife kept complaining to me about not enough wontons and meat. The Saipan congee didn't come with very many ingredients. The food was itself was pretty good. The portion was not. Service was good. The boss lady seemed to know all her customers, and knew her customer's usual orders. It's a good place. It's not the 626 or even Richmond (Vancouver). It might be the best in the area.
