Ding Tea Williams Taiwanese Tea House I strutted into Ding Tea feeling calm and meek, Walked out emotionally supported by tea. One sip in and I whispered, "Excuse me, sir," Because my taste buds had just been promoted at work. This isn't tea that waves politely and leaves, This tea grabs your hand and says, Sit. Believe. I've had tea before lies. All lies. Those were leaf-flavored regrets in disguise. Milk tea so smooth it should have its own podcast, Coffee strong enough to bring your childhood back. I ordered thinking, "Yeah, this'll be fine," Next thing I know, I'm staring at the cup like it owes me an explanation. The pearls? Perfect. Not gummy, not sad, Each one bouncing like it knows it's elite-class. I chewed thoughtfully, nodded like a food critic, Then realized I looked ridiculous and kept chewing. The menu is huge, mildly intimidating, Like it knows you're not emotionally ready. You'll say, "I'll try something safe," with a grin, And Ding Tea will politely ruin that plan. Service is fast but never rushed, No chaos, no sighs, no judgmental huff. They let you take your time, make your choice, Even if you panic and forget how words work. So listen carefully, tea novices and pros: If you think you've "had tea," Ding Tea says, adorable. Come curious, leave changed, slightly caffeinated, And fully aware your old tea life was overrated. Five stars. Ding Tea Williams. Enter thirsty. Exit humbled.

I'm a fan of Ding Tea! They're near my doctor's office so I usually stop by after for a sweet treat. This visit I went for their Dalgona coffee milk tea with boba. It was great, nice coffee flavor, good texture on the boba. You can adjust sweetness and ice level. Staff is friendly and drinks come out quick. They cost $6-7 ish. The interior is beautiful, clean and spacious for the small footprint, with a beautiful mural on the far wall.

Great spot for bubble tea! Conveniently located and large menu. Clean space and chill vibe, great for studying or catching up with friends. Service was quick and the large variety on the menu is great for trying new things. Highly recommend.

Passing through, almost home, & we were all in need of a pick me up. The place is beautiful, the owners are wonderful, & the teas are all quality and elegantly crafted. Blended so well, the flavors are fresh and the 'real thing', nothing made out of powder type of tea! I had the taro milk tea. So good! If i am out there again, Ill definitely stop for another tea of theirs for my way back up north.

We walked here from our temporary home. Lots of options to select from. My guy got the jasmine tea with mango and honey. I got fruit tea peach and mango. We liked it! The service was regular and the place has a nice vibe.

This place is good and it's the only ding tea you can get the crème brûlée mashed taro drink. This is the only thing my partner and I get and I've even having it for 2 years straight ever since we've moved to PNW. I don't know why the other ding teas don't do special flavors. Luckily this one has a whole menu of them and they're all really fun

Came to Portland for a vacation and needed a boba fix. So glad I found this place - it's way better than some of the spots in San Francisco. Very modern feel and there are so many combinations to explore. I tried the Hokkaido Black Milk Tea per the server's recommendation. It has a caramel taste but also the depth of a dark tea. I got half sweet with incredibly chewy golden boba. Super yum! I only wish the cup was bigger because it was filled up more than halfway with ice.

This is my fav place to go for milk tea! The service is fast, the boba is consistently fresh, and the indoor seating is nice for studying or catching up with friends.

This is probably one of the best places to go to in Portland if you are really into boba teas. (I should add that I'm not a big boba fan, but my kid and her beau are, and the boyfriend used to live nearby and go here regularly. He said that the teas here are very customizable, and he likes that). We visited here recently for the boyfriend to get his "usual" custom boba drink. I was immediately impressed by how large this shop was, and how open and clean. The interior shop pallet is very pastel-y, with soft baby blues and pinks. I guess there were some new employees working when we visited, as my kid's beau's drink took a long time to make, and he said they were a bit "confused" how to make his usual concoction. But he said they eventually "figured it out". And he was pleased with his drink. As usual.

The Feng Shui here in on point: crisp lines, open spaces, ambient natural light; clean, organized, elegant. The tea (and service!) is pretty good, too! A slightly overwhelming selection of fresh, flavored and milk teas, juices, tea, lattes, and coffee, all of which can be modified by level of sweetness, and the addition of boba, tapiocas and other jellies, seeds, and foams (cheese foam?! wut?!) based on your preference. We walked out with a matcha milk tea for myself, and a Thai Tea with boba for my wife, all for less than $10 bucks. In the world of customizable, consumable craft concoctions, I'd frequent this place over any Starbucks, any day of the week. There's nothing about our experience here that I would Ding them for; they executed their mission to a Tea! Sounds like a five-star experience all around, Williams!

Ding duplicate ~ expected consistency with same menu, same quality & taste. Good boba chew. Adjustable sweetness level is a must and more tea than milk is recommended. Pastel pleasing storefront with a few tables to sip at. Service is bit DINGly with one person working the front and others stanDING talking about nothing.

We love Ding Tea, it's our favorite boba tea shop in town! Great service. They always do a complimentary split of a large boba into two smaller sizes for us

I love bubble just as much as the next person, but my all-time milk-based bubble tea has hands down got to be a good taro bubble tea. I don't know of many places that put Real mashed taro bits in taro bubble tea and are Generous with their taro, but the fact that Ding Tea Williams does makes this place a 6 out of 5. All the boba were nice and bouncy and chewy. And golden boba? Thumbs up. The sugar-level was just right. My girls' lychee tea was super light and refreshing. You've got to take a visit party people

Ask the Community - Ding Tea Williams

What brand jams and syrups are used? Is it Bossen?

The jams and syrups (and teas and creamer) are all proprietary Ding Tea products, shipped to the US from Ding Tea headquarters in Taiwan. Most of the toppings are as well, although some are made in-house and a few are sourced from third-party…

How much sugar (approx) does a large slightly sweet (30%) milk tea with boba have?

A large slightly sweet milk tea has approximately 14 grams of sugar in it. This is a mixture of fructose added to the drink, sugar from any flavoring, and sugar from the boba.

Are all of the topping gluten free? I know some types of licorice/gummies use either wheat or malt, but I'm sure about the specialty Boba jellies.

Hi Katherine! All of the toppings for the drinks are gluten free.

Anyone know what type of milk is used in the signature milk tea (half and half, non dairy creamer, whole milk)?

Great question! All of the milk teas are made with a non-dairy creamer. It has no lactose but does have a small amount of sodium caseinate in it. It may not be suitable for those that have a casein allergy (depending on sensitivity) or are strictly…

The space feels cozy, welcoming, and full of personality. I especially loved the little post-it wall where customers can leave behind anything they want a small detail that makes the café feel even more personal and community-driven. What I ordered: Soft Cream Matcha One of the creamiest matchas I've ever had! The soft cream was incredibly fluffy and smooth, while the matcha itself was bold enough to come through with every sip and also had a coconuty essence to it. It had just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the matcha. If you love a rich, creamy matcha, this is definitely one to try. Es-Yen A classic Thai-style iced coffee made with condensed milk. This was strong, sweet, and definitely had that much-needed wake-me-up effect! The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. The owners were so sweet and welcoming, taking the time to give me recommendations and making sure everyone was taken care of even during a busy rush. Until next time, Portland!
