I have never been one of those people who hates going to the dentist. Actually, I look forward to it! The receptionists are wonderful and they actually take time to connect with you on a personal level instead of treating you like just a number standing in a line. My hygienist, Katie, is gentle but thorough. She makes sure to go the extra mile in letting me know what habits will help my teeth and notices the changes I make with each visit. I do not see Dr. Boyle every visit, I think it's just when I have X-rays, but he is always attentive and listens to my concerns. I have been blessed with fairly uncomplicated teeth, but my roots are really short so it's nice to have a doctor that watches them carefully to make sure we catch any shifting in early stages. The office is a bit small but they schedule their patients effectively so that there is never a long with before you are seen. I think most times I barely sit down before I am called back to be seen. The exam rooms are clean and the walls are painted with gorgeous murals, different in each room. They always have something on the tvs to distract you, which I think really helps kids from being afraid.

Very small but do good work

My favorite…read moredentist retired and it has been a couple of years of seeing new dentists trying to find the right one. I think I have it! Every aspect of the customer service was warm and calm and cheerful. I also took my son, who is 9 and was worried about everything - he was treated kindly and respectfully. In the past, I've seen dentists that find all kind of issues that were conveniently covered by insurance. Or, they poke you in the gums with a sharp instrument and say - WHOA you're gums bleed, you need a special deep cleaning that your insurance will pay for! Huh. A sharp dental instrument made me bleed? What a racket. When either of those two things happen I'm not coming back to your office. Nothing of the sort happened to us. First, the x-rays at the dentist can sometimes be the hardest part! I really appreciated the dental assistant's way of handling my occasional issue - she just calmly moved on to the next area (which required a different bite), and then went back to the problem areas later. This definitely kept me from getting flustered and it was no problem when she went back. It had been a year (COVID) since we had been to the dentist. They could have told me anything and I might have believed it. But we both were cleaned up and polished by Dr. Phil. No cavities. No pressure to do anything unnecessary. Good advice about braces, too! Also, the cleaning was that little water pressure deal, no scraping. Thank the lort. Fast and pain free. Naturally, everything was very clean, everyone was masked and gowned and there was hand sanitizer everywhere, etc. It is a nice office in general. Cool that you get x-rays and treatment all in one room. We will be back and I will be recommending Lancaster Dental to others.

The dental staff were professional, respectful, and just had great energy. Made me feel like I was speaking with my neighbors, that's how comfortable I was. There's picture frames posted on the walls of completed puzzles which are beautiful that a staff member shared Dr. Lee completes with his family. Dr. Lee seems very down to earth, was thorough, took my x rays and digital pictures of my teeth so when he was explaining the horrendous tragedy going on with my teeth, he was able to show me with the x rays and pictures. It really made me understand what he was seeing, and reflects how thorough he is. You can tell he is knowledgeable AND he cares about your dental health. His tone of voice is very calming and fatherly so you can't help but feel at ease. When they were filling my cavities, I didn't feel the needle numbing my gums which was almost magical and I literally fell asleep while they were working on my teeth. It was my first visit and I will be returning. Thanks Dr Lee and staff!

Two times now I've gone in for my appointment and was seen an hour to an hour and a half PAST my appointment time- resulting in services that I need to get done them not having time for. Now I have to go back for a third visit just to get done the original tooth that I came in for in April. A woman was there about 15 minutes after I got there sometime before 10 AM. She had a doctor appointment at noon somewhere else and after an hour of waiting for her appointment which was at 10:30. She asked if she should reschedule because she wouldn't make her second appointment. I'm not sure who is in charge of the scheduling, but they need to be let go. Over booking an understaffed office is not helping your team or your patient care. The amount of time collectively I've spent waiting in that office I could've driven to my old dentist in Orange County. Got the work done and came back home I understand your time is valuable, but so is the time of the patients who take off work, arranged, childcare, or schedule other appointments in their day. An hour to 2 hours to be seen as crazy work- only to be told " there's not enough time to do the thing you came in here for we're gonna have to reschedule you"

The weeks leading up to it were filled with nothing but friends and family alike telling me they were sorry I needed it as it's a horrible procedure but that I'd be happy to have it done after the fact. I felt my heart in my stomach when the day/hour finally arrived. I got to the office and was greeted by the friendly staff. The girls are so sweet and check you in quickly. Staff in the back office are just as sweet and understanding of any irrational fears (as my own lol). I knew I wasn't seeing the same dentist as I had previously so that added to the nerves. The two girls responsible for me that day did a great job of keeping me calm and walking me through the whole process. The doctor came in and introduced himself. He also made sure to acknowledge my feelings and walked me through the whole procedure while making sure I was never uncomfortable. Dr. Michael Ortega has a magical hand. Not once did I feel any pain at all. Not when he injected the anesthesia, nor during the actual root canal nor thereafter. I was so appreciative of him and the tech who molded my crown that same day so I wouldn't have to come back. Her color matching skills are impeccable! Now you can't even tell I have a crown. I went home that day feeling like a million bucks and no longer fear the dentist. Thank you Lancaster Modern for the amazing job you do at taking care of your patients.
