The overall experience left me with lasting physical, emotional, and financial consequences. Equally disappointing was the professionalism of the office, especially office manager Johana. Communication was frustrating, customer service was poor, and I was left feeling like I was just another bill instead of a patient. When I called the office to address my concerns, Johana's handling of the conversation was, in my experience, unprofessional. During the call, she abruptly hung up on me while I was trying to discuss my concerns. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Heritage Oral Surgery or Dr. Brent Ramsey. I strongly encourage anyone considering treatment there to do extensive research, read reviews carefully, and obtain a second opinion before making a decision. There are plenty of qualified oral surgeons available, and in my opinion, your health and safety are too important to settle for an experience like the one I had. During my procedure, I was uncomfortable with what I perceived to be an unprofessional conversation in the treatment room by Ramsey himself. In my experience, there was a discussion about other people that I did not think was appropriate during a surgical procedure. It made me question the professionalism of the practice. Patients should expect their provider's full attention and discretion during treatment. Lastly, I was also disappointed by the billing practices. Patients are charged an additional 3% when paying by credit card, and I was surprised to see a separate charge for local anesthesia. In my opinion, these extra fees only added to an already frustrating experience and left me feeling that the focus was more on collecting additional charges than on patient care. Pathetic. Without reservation, I recommend seeking care elsewhere.

Or, they poke you in the gums with a sharp instrument and say - WHOA you're gums bleed, you need a special deep cleaning that your insurance will pay for! Huh. A sharp dental instrument made me bleed? What a racket. When either of those two things happen I'm not coming back to your office. Nothing of the sort happened to us. First, the x-rays at the dentist can sometimes be the hardest part! I really appreciated the dental assistant's way of handling my occasional issue - she just calmly moved on to the next area (which required a different bite), and then went back to the problem areas later. This definitely kept me from getting flustered and it was no problem when she went back. It had been a year (COVID) since we had been to the dentist. They could have told me anything and I might have believed it. But we both were cleaned up and polished by Dr. Phil. No cavities. No pressure to do anything unnecessary. Good advice about braces, too! Also, the cleaning was that little water pressure deal, no scraping. Thank the lort. Fast and pain free. I felt my heart in my stomach when the day/hour finally arrived. I got to the office and was greeted by the friendly staff. The girls are so sweet and check you in quickly. Staff in the back office are just as sweet and understanding of any irrational fears (as my own lol). I knew I wasn't seeing the same dentist as I had previously so that added to the nerves. The two girls responsible for me that day did a great job of keeping me calm and walking me through the whole process. The doctor came in and introduced himself. He also made sure to acknowledge my feelings and walked me through the whole procedure while making sure I was never uncomfortable. Dr. Michael Ortega has a magical hand. Not once did I feel any pain at all. Not when he injected the anesthesia, nor during the actual root canal nor thereafter. I was so appreciative of him and the tech who molded my crown that same day so I wouldn't have to come back. Her color matching skills are impeccable! Now you can't even tell I have a crown.
