Was happy I stumbled on this place! Been wanting to try/find a nice hookah spot. The ambience here is definitely modern and nice as compared to some other hookah spots. Was served by Yamer when I visited and she was super polite and helpful! As i don't do hookah often she walked me through the menu and gave me some good recommendations. So I had the opportunity to try TABAC + in my neighborhood little Italy and it did not disappoint! The drinks were so good although I do have to make sure everybody is aware that these were mocktails . The presentation is just beautiful and I love a good mocktail. They do not serve alcohol. The coffee drinks were also really delicious and beautifully presented. We had a few dishes of food and that was also very good. Had some hookah which haven't done hookah in a long time, but it was definitely a vibe. I feel like this is a great addition to the neighborhood here in Little Italy we need something that's open late night With some great food and good vibes. Can't wait to party here after the party if you haven't tried TABAC + go and try it now. This place is total chaos on a busy night. Reservations don't mean anything here. There online system will let you make reservations and when you show up you will 45 mins to 1 hour past reservation time if you are lucky. Why not just be transparent and tell the customers that we are at capacity and running super behind when they get there so one can decide if they want to go somewhere else or not?? They keep saying 5 mins, 10 mins, etc lingering you along and before you know it you are 1 hour past your reservation time waiting outside. You see other groups go in who seem to know someone there. Transparency and communication would save a lot of headache. Only reason I'm not giving 1 star the place is cool spot when you do finally get a table. read more

I've been coming to Tabac+ for a while now, and it's easily one of my favorite spots in San Diego. I live in Irvine and still make the drive down at least twice a month--that should say enough on its own. Mohammad runs a solid place, and the service is always on point. Ansar and Alihan usually take care of me and they're consistently attentive without being overbearing. You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. The hookah is excellent--high quality Ros hookahs and a lot of flavor options. Everything is always clean, smooth, and prepared right. I usually sit in the cigar section, and they always bring an ashtray, cutter, and lighter without me having to ask, which I appreciate. Drinks are great too. Good mocktails, solid coffee and tea options, and the desserts are a must. The knafeh is my go-to and never disappoints. This is a busy establishment and there is a bit of line in the evening on Friday and Saturday night. Definitely make a reservation. If you want hookah, you need to select the outdoor patio. If you don't want smoke, the indoor seating is really nice and comfortable. Overall, this place does things the right way. It is a high-end experience and they pay special attention to the details. had a terrible experience at Tabac+ in San Diego. I made a reservation for a party of four at 10:30 PM to celebrate my friend's birthday. Even though we had a confirmed reservation, we were still asked to wait in line and ended up waiting for over an hour without ever being seated. What made the situation worse was that the staff kept taking new reservations and letting walk-ins in while many of us with reservations were still waiting. It just doesn't make sense--why keep accepting more reservations if you can't seat the ones you already have? The whole experience felt unorganized and inconsiderate, especially on a night that was supposed to be special. Definitely not what I expected from a place like this. read more

The texture felt like hardened ground meat than actual pieces of meat. This restaurant had the audacity to contact google and have my original review removed because it didn't have enough detail! Well here is the detail for u, have respect for the public and have better quality food. This establishment is a hookah place for people to.hang out, it has no business serving food. If google decides to remove my review again, then Google is not a reputable company if it just simply removes legitimate reviews of restraunts because the owner doesn't like it. I am not the only person that disliked the lamb chops. Check out other reviews regarding their lamb chops, practically inedible. THIS is not a serious restaurant. Tabac+ is such an authentic Turkish experience that you don't get very often in San Diego. The renovation from what was previously Carruth Cellars, is beautiful, intentional and very luxurious. The menu featured some really delicious traditional dishes. We ordered Mezze Palette, Tulum Garden, Dolmas, the truffle chicken, and finished with the Helga w Turkish ice cream. Their labneh tzatziki was some of the best I've ever had. Super light and fluffy. The Cig Kofte were actually vegetarian even though they looked and tasted like meat, but really yummy! The Helga was very rich, dense, and a pistachio lovers dream. For drinks we ordered the Mentha Limonata which was very refreshing and reminded me of a mojito. We also ordered the chai tea latte which was too sweet for me, I'd recommend getting it half sweet if you like a more earthy chai. read more

I hate to leave a bad review, but the food was terrible. The beef entree looked like little breakfast sausages and they were so hard and overcooked, barely edible, but I was starving. Then the lettuce in the salad was old and red, which was lovely. Moving onto dessert, the kunafe was burnt and the Dubai dessert was okay- basically like a chocolate mousse pudding with crushed pistachios- nothing exciting. I was so underwhelmed and wished we had gone somewhere else. The ambience was really nice though and it seems like a chill place for hookah only- although I cannot attest to their hookah because my party didn't order any. read more
