TL;DR: A clean, friendly sports bar with actual food and drink specials, secret EDM/tequila speakeasy in the back, and parking that will test your skills and patience. 10/10 would risk it again. Take a seat, I've got a story to tell: I have no idea how this place isn't already swarming with people wearing vintage Cowboys jerseys and arguing about brisket. It's like someone said, "What if we made a chill, good-looking sports bar with great food, live music, and a tequila dungeon rave in the back?" and then actually did it. Let's start with location: It's in the Design District, nestled between a UPS store and some bougie eateries that serve things like "deconstructed nachos" This place? No pretense. Just vibes. The front is a cool, unassuming sports bar with TVs, a solid beer selection, and food that's actually better than it needs to be. I'm not saying the burger cured my seasonal depression, but I did smile with my whole face after the first bite. But wait..there's a twist. Go toward the back and you'll stumble upon a themed bar/speakeasy that opens on weekends only. Think tequila meets house music meets, "how is this even legal?" It's like Narnia, if Narnia served mezcal shots and played Diplo remixes. Pro tips: * Taco Tuesdays: Dollar tacos that don't taste like regret. * Thursday combo: Burger, fries, and a beer for $10. Alexander Hamilton would be proud. * Staff is actually attentive and friendly, no one here is mad that you exist. There's a gentleman that is deaf, be nice, he's super cool! The only con? The parking situation is more stressful than a group project in college. Street parking is your best bet, but if you have to use the lot, prepare to reenact a 37-point turn while strangers silently judge you. If you're looking for a place where you can watch the game, make a new bar friend, and maybe end the night dancing in a surprise tequila lounge, this is your spot. Just don't tell too many people. I like being able to get a table. ;P Follow their Instagram for their specials and updates.

Visiting from NC and we enjoyed this place tremendously! Such a vibe and the decor was very pretty and made the ambiance even better. It was not as packed as we expected it to be and we were able to find a table closer to the back of the place. They did have a dance floor towards the entrance but it was a bit small though. So there was a bunch of bumping into different people. Everyone was super friendly and efficient. Our waitress did take a while with our drinks but ehhh, it can happen so we didn't complain. We went on a friday around 11pm and I believe it was tropical night? They played a bunch of salsa, Merengue and Bachata with a few Reggaeton songs here and there. Drinks were great. Ordered the Watermelon Paloma and it was super strong and tasted delicious! We also ordered a few glasses of Brut (Prosecco) and def hit the spot also. Before we left we got complementary watermelon shots, OMG they were sooooooo good! Definitely dangerous though so be careful if you order those. They can definitely sneak up on you. They do serve food but we did not order any so cant comment on that. Towards the end we saw that they offer hookah and were bummed because we would've enjoyed that if we would've known when we first arrived. The bathrooms were gross though. Floor was wet , tissue paper all on the floor and trash was overflowing. Other than that we enjoyed our time here and will be back if we are ever in the area.

Enjoying one of the creative spirits

No. But what has us coming back is their consistency and attention to detail. The space is gorgeous and each room brings a different vibe to the dining experience. We were sat in the darkest of the rooms that was very romantic, and thankfully the music wasn't too loud. When we were seated we found a frame on the table holding a message congratulations us on our anniversary, with our names included. It was very sweet! Our server was prompt, attentive, and very charming. She asked us questions about ourselves and also gave great recommendations throughout the night. The drinks were good! However, the Passionate Kiss started to taste very chemical forward the longer it sat (I'm a slow drinker) so I only finished half of it. Not sure if it was because of the print on the foam originally or what, but it wasn't pleasant. I got the scallops and loved them, especially since I was able to try their orzo with it that normally comes with the salmon instead. The scallops were tender and the flavor was rich and well balanced with the rest of the plate. My boyfriend loved his chops and devoured everything. He also got the Potatoes Au Gratin and couldn't get enough. They were very rich and had great flavor. I had previously seen reviews from others saying the potatoes and other dishes were bland but that was not our experience. The rolls were one of the best parts. I wish I could whip butter like that at home. Towards the end they brought us a couple of glasses of Prosecco to cheers with, and a complimentary dessert (the Samoa sundae). We also ordered the Chocolate Decadence which was incredibly good. The goal is to come back next year, and plenty of times before that as well. Thanks to the Evelyn team for such a great dinner!

Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match the experience for us. To be fair, several friends highly recommended the restaurant and spoke very highly of the food, so this may have just been an off night. Still, first impressions matter. I ordered the salmon cooked medium, but it arrived slightly overcooked. My husband requested a medium steak, but it came out medium rare in the center while somehow being medium well on the outside. The meatballs felt like they were missing something flavor-wise, though the calamari was good. The sides -- mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes -- were also a bit underwhelming. My daughter's lobster pasta was just okay as well. On a positive note, the service was solid and the Old Hollywood cocktail was perfection. I'm open to giving Evelyn another try because the atmosphere really is beautiful, but my husband has officially retired from future visits.

The munchies they offer you are toasted Texas Pecans, and Corn Nuts! Delicious to the core! Thanks to our bartender, Ruel! I assume EVERYTHING on their cocktail Bible is a hit, just mine was. Pricey, yes. I had 2, and they were worth it! This effortlessly chic bar, located inside the Mansion on Turtle Creek Hotel, is a real hit with guests, tourists, and locals! Excellent service! A must stop! And it's really busy during happy hour and peak hours! You'll thank me later..... Cheers, Yelpers!

The hotel property is like four legs under the table - a great location, a great hotel experience, a great restaurant experience, and a entertainment experience (The Mansion Bar). At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.

When we walked in, the hostesses greeted us and seated us at the table we had reserved in the Leopard Room. Initially, we were placed at a small half table along the wall. We asked if it was possible to move, and they happily accommodated us. That particular table felt a bit awkward for conversation since you can barely face the person across from you. It might work better for someone sitting alone and people watching rather than having a full conversation. Service throughout the night was great. The staff checked in regularly without being intrusive and made sure we always had what we needed. For drinks, I would say they were just okay. They were not bad, but they also were not particularly memorable. Given the speakeasy concept, I expected a bit more creativity in both flavor and presentation. We ordered the Melting Clock Elixir, Persistence of Berries, Cotton Candy Cloud, and the Surrealist 75. As the night went on, the space became much more crowded and louder once the DJ started playing. If you are hoping to have a relaxed conversation and catch up with friends, this might not be the best spot later in the evening. From what I saw, the Library Room seems to have a nicer atmosphere for that. The Leopard Room leans more toward a lounge or club-like environment as the night progresses.

Nobody is probably great if you're looking for a late night party vibe but not so great if you're looking to have a conversation with close friends. The one thing I will also add is that the smell here is a little off. I'm not sure why but maybe it has something to do the carpet floors? It reminds me of a low end bar that hasn't been cleaned up yet -- that is it the case here, it is clean, just smells a little off!
