Came here with a group of 10 30 year old men. A group of 23 year olds of similar party size sat down 10 minutes after us. They finished their meal before we even got our food. The service was outstandingly poor. Also for a tavern you think the would have more on draft than stella and budlight, but they don't. Saving grace is that the food is good, like really good. I ordered my burger medium rare and it came out burnt to a crisp. That's okay though, because it was still an 8/10 burger. Unless you hate things that make you happy get the onion rings. best ever. Beware the patio if it's windy. Our umbrellas lifted out of the table and almost went flying. read more

We've been coming to the Tack Room for about 11/2 years. The first few times the meals were wonderful. The shrimp I. The Shrimp Cocktail was large and meaty. Ordered it a couple of weeks ago and the shrimp was watery, obviously frozen. The beef Shrimp dip was a favorite but this evening it was mostly gristle. Instead of sliced beef it was a cheap piece of beef on a bun. It was truly inedible. What's going on you guys! We love the atmosphere but the food will not bring us back fortunately. read more

Very cool old school place for a meal. Went there with my and a buddy and we had the Rib Eye French Dip, Chicken Sandwich and Pulled Pork Sandwich. Threw in the Whiskey Onion Rings and a1/2 Wedge Salad. All very good. We all said we would go back. Also ordered an Old Fashioned and their Margarita. Drinks were ok. The Margarita was very sour and improved with a shot of Gran Marnier and the Old Fashioned seemed pretty weak. OK though. We finished off with their Bread Pudding and the Cheesecake. Both very good. Service was fantastic and a very casual place. We ate indoors as it was well over a 100. They had misters and huge fans outside as well. Can't wait to head back when it cools off and enjoy the outdoor dining as well. Looks like a favorite for the old timers which is always a good sign. read more

We had good service on a Thursday afternoon. The margaritas were decent for $12. The wedge salad was good. We each got a half and it was fresh and plenty. Reverted to childhood and had chicken fingers with a tasty ranch comfort food. We previously went to Red Robin, but the place smelled musty and the menu was sticky so we left. read more

Here now. Friday, August 2, 2019 7 PM. It's 113° here in Indio, CA right now but this place has a great vibe and was nice and comfortable inside. Nice environment but the room itself is very loud acoustically. They have a huge outdoor patio but this time of year, you would be crazy to want to sit out there. Food is good here and reasonably priced and the service good. They had an excellent band playing tonight called Andy's Gang. They are great! My wife and I ordered a chicken sandwich it was delicious and excellent quality. I like that the bun they use is a bakery artisan type bread. Delicious. We also ordered a pitcher of 805 beer and we like that on the inside of the pitcher they have a chill stick device that keeps the beer cold while it's in the pitcher. Great idea and out here in the desert where it's high temps, makes a lot of sense to do whatever you can to keep beverages ice cold. See my photos below. read more

Fans and misters made outside dining very comfortable. Extremely busy, we arrived at 4:45 and there were a dozen people waiting ahead of us for the opening at 5. They ended up stealing 50+. Staff busy, friendly, but overwhelmed. Food is excellent and very reasonable. Happy hour prices from 5-6 are almost unbelievable for the quality and huge size. No longer a hidden treasure, worth the wait. read more

Drove all the way out there, got there at 1:46pm according to their hours on Yelp they state they're open. "New Summer Hours" posted on the front door, opens at 3pm. Get with the times guys.. it's 2021, update your hours of operations online. Won't be returning. read more

We have dinner here so often it's very close to our home, we just love it.. we love the food, the ambience the service... Special big shout out last night, there with my family for our celebration finally of our 54th anniversary... Two days ago... The place was so busy but it always is but I have to say our service was fabulous, thank you Jeremiah for making it that much better you handled everything great and thank you to the tag room for the wonderful desserts if you ever go there make sure you try the bread pudding I know it sounds like it wouldn't be much but it's absolutely delicious.. what can I say going again next week for dinner with some friends... Last night we discovered the Rack Room Tavern - it was suggested by neighbors of ours in LaQuinta. Great hidden spot for a casual, fun dinner. Sit in the patio, enjoy the live music on Saturday night, and order up a wood-fired pizza to enjoy under all the cute Edison string-twinkle lights. Good family spot. Great service, though we did have to wait about 20 min for a table, but worth it. Fun equestrian-themed dining spot, lots of locals and visitors alike. read more

The Tack Room Tavern is at once a great venue for drinks, better-than-just-bar food, karaoke and live music. Indoors or out, you're sure to like the ambiance. Whether you like being surrounded by REAL WOOD fixtures and polo memorabilia, or sitting under date palms gazing at the stars through stringed lights, your eyes are sure to be pleased with the lighting levels and visual stimulus. HOWEVER - CAVEAT EMPTOR I cannot give The Tack Room Tavern more than three stars, because during sports season, the crowd in attendance for televised sports are so loud, unruly and drunk, that one can barely navigate the room or the outside seating area to be seated or exit - and forget about having a nice conversation or hearing the band. I am happy for the Tack Room that they generate a lot of business during the season, and that their employees have a secure source of income, but I must limit my visits there to the off-season and part of the shoulder season to retain my sanity. read more

We went to the Tack Room Tavern for the 2nd time since they've reopened. What a disappointment!!! We went to "Happy Hour"--what a joke...no food is on HH and we were told the beer/drink we ordered were HH. The bill came and they WERE NOT on HH. Poor service. We were never asked if all was ok until the busgirl cleared our plates and she asked--she whould be the server. The blue cheese was so watered down it didn't have any flavor and was just plain runny. We paid an upcharge to have onion rings with a burger. The burger was ok but the onion rings were not crispy and they were soggy. The favorite items from the old menu are no longer served and we are told by the help-"we hear that often". THEN CHANGE IT!!! They used to have the best onion rings, drinks and food. NO MORE!!!! I guess that's why the place was empty!!!! It is so disappointing and I hope the management HEARS this and makes changes or I predict they won't be business long. TOO BAD. read more

We've enjoyed the Tack Room for years, but on our recent visit the food and drinks were really subpar. We sat inside, so the service was great and much better than outside. When the weather is good, the patio is so nice, but expect to take your time. My husband got his usual French dip. The meat was easily a third of what it was six months ago. Really Skimpy. And he said the Bloody Mary was the worst he'd ever had. What happened? Please bring it back. This is a local restaurant, but felt like a tourist trap. read more

We sat for 15 minutes and multiple servers looked straight at us and never even offered a drinks order or acknowledged us. Eventually we set a timer and after a further 10 minutes, we simply got up and walked out. There was no service and will not be returning even though we are year round residents. Business must be good if you can afford to ignore your customers! read more

We ordered 3 appetizers and two glasses of wine. After realizing that very few people were NOT following the recommended social distancing or mask wearing, we asked for our check, paid our bill, spoke to management and left. Besides the fact that Covid safe guidelines are posted at the entry, few followed protocols. Even serving staff took their masks off when talking to diners. Other servers walking to a big group and shaking hands. All I could think of was that these same folks may be serving my food. I didn't trust the food or the environment. When I asked Management about the sign posted in the entry, she stated that the rules have changed. So why have the sign or why not update it? Laziness? That's a bad sign too! No pun intended. We had been patiently waiting for them to reopen but were very disappointed on our first visit. As locals, we've visited the place for 10 yrs. Gone on their 'new' & very limited menu are lot of the TR favorites. I know sometimes you have to tweak or update menu choices but this is drastic. Why fix what isn't broken??? We ordered the supposed TR burger (always a staple in the past) and were not thrilled: 1. I don't believe it is really a 1/3 burger anymore 2. The taste was just ehhhh 3. Cheap/over-seasoned fries. The new management & menu change may be okay through the winter because of snowbird activity, but it will drive away the locals who keep them in business the rest of the year. When you spend $50 for two burgers & 3 beers, you can easily find another local restaurant with better quality burgers. It's too bad our favorite neighborhood Tack Room Tavern with dependable food is no longer the same. read more

Came here a couple months ago and had a great time. They had an awesome live band playing some blues, not something I get to enjoy that often. Drinks were excellent, food was good, and the venue itself had a nice large enclosed patio where the live music was. We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband today. Our waitress was amazing, checked with us frequently and overall made our dinner meal very enjoyable. My husband had filet and I had baked salmon. We both enjoyed our desserts (cheesecake and bread pudding). This place is a definite go to for delicious food and great service. read more

I called a few weeks before my birthday to schedule a reservation for my guests. I was told that they don't take reservations for the weekend and that I can email the manager. I left an email quickly after my call and never even received a response! So anyway, I took the loss and considered showing up a few hours before this dinner so I could claim seating for my party... I called to make sure I would get an estimated wait time.. the lady told me they were BOOKED WITH RESERVATIONS so she wasnt sure Id get a table anytime soon. I was left to tell all my guests that I will have to quickly find another place for us to get together for my bday.. and no luck so far. Horribly disappointed. We had lunch today with a large party of 8 in the outside patio. For the most part we loved it. The French dipped sandwich was the best I've ever had. Pulled pork was very flavorful. The bacon was delicious. Here are the areas for improvement. We were served drinks in plastic cups while others got glass. Should be same for everyone. Mac and cheese was so bad that we returned it. Too milky. Not cheesy. Server was overwhelmed by too many tables. Slow bringing drinks. We had to ask for appetizer plates and silverware. Need larger selection of sodas. read more
