Had the WORST service yesterday. Went there with my family for a nice Sunday afternoon dinner and our waitress Alexis was AWFUL! She was so rude the entire time. She gave the nastiest attitude and was rolling her eyes and every small request( refill please, dressing) the cheese bread was burnt black so we just wanted to let her know and she snapped at my father saying thats just how it is(we've never had it like that before) She FORGOT to put in the pizza order and when we asked went to "check on it" and it would be another 15 min. Weve had pizzas before from there its never taken 45 min to get. By the time it came everyone was done with their meals. Then ontop of that there was an 20% gratuity charge for $30! For 6 people. Her service did not deserve that tip. When we asked about it she said its policy. We go there a-lot and have never received that gratuity charge. When we asked to speak to a manager of course one wasn't available. The food was decent but the service was absolutely horrible. They lost regular customers last night. read more

Oooof. This one hurt. I don't think I have ever given a 1 star but this was probably one of the worst meals I have had in a while. The chicken piccata looked like it was heated up from the microwave on weird bland pasta noodles. The capers and outside of the chicken was super mushy and gross. It was served with bread which was burnt and cold. Drinks were strong so that was the plus. My boyfriend ended up having intense stomach problems post chicken. Definitely wouldn't eat here again. This is an incredible place. The leather saddle stools, live musicians that routinely entertain are superb. The food is hardy, and good bar-eats, and is akin to a pub in the UK - yet with old western decor. Having the nachos with steak, fried beans, jalapeños and sour cream etc is a good choice for the plenty-o' good beers on tap. The solid wood everywhere will hold your memories well until the next return to the Polo grounds just outside the front and back doors. Most of the menu items at Tack Room Tavern sit between $10.00 and $15.00, which is reasonable given the portion sizes and the included sides. My California Chicken Sandwich was $12.00, which, while a little bit high, wasn't unreasonable. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? I'll stop for just a moment here to address my ultimate pet peeve, which is restaurants putting any and all words relating to 'Kobe' beef on their menu. Tack Room Tavern has, proudly displayed, a '10 Goal' Kobe Burger atop their menu, and you can be absolutely certain it has nothing to do with real Japanese Kobe beef, which is of course unavailable anywhere in the United States outside of three restaurants. Seeing the word 'Kobe' on a menu is often my first sign to run away and not look back, but I endured my chicken sandwich here, and it not surprisingly disappointed. While the piece of chicken itself was fine, the peripherals were weak, the fries standard, and the whole thing virtually no different than what I could easily whip up at home. No Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Tack Room Tavern is fine if all you're looking for is a beer and some people to hang out with, but that's about it. No Star Granted. read more

Our first visit to to tack room after living in the desert four years. We wanted to go to a happy hour local bar near us and we found the perfect one. The happy hour menu was great and drinks were fantastic. Their website talked about their awesome mixologist. I am not much of a liquor drinker but I do love a good mojito. I ordered off menu a strawberry mint mojito and I must say it was the best I had in the desert so far. As we were there other bartenders were selling the drink to other patrons. I went back again and had the Club sandwich, which was quite good and tasted fresh. I went there tonight and ordered the "Prime Rib Beef Dip" sandwich for $17. There was no "prime rib". It was a quarter inch thick piece of chuck steak? My dissatisfaction was great. Ok, call it' a steak sandwich. Get some nice sliced roast beef and call it a "French" dip or beef dip. We had a nice meal here in their big covered patio with plentiful outdoor seating. We were lucky to get a table around the perimeter so we weren't too close to the other tables or foot traffic. The food was all great. I highly recommend the artichoke dip. Also the homemade pasta was delish! They were out of a lot of the listed beers, especially the microbrews which was a bit disappointing, but we still found some good options. The wait staff was very friendly and professional, but overworked so we didn't get checked in on much, and one of our app orders was missed, which we later noticed we were charged for.
