Staying in Palm Dessert and wanted try something different and the Tack-room Tavern delivered. Located on the Empire Polo Club Grounds, location was amazing. Great polo horse decor! Ordered the Cobb Salad tower and it was a beautiful presentation and was fresh and authentic, nothing out of a can here! My wife ordered the Rib Eyed French dip sandwich and it was done perfectly, best steak to $ value I have seen! Steak was perfectly cooked and the au jus was salty to perfection....all served with a French fry o-ring combo! I also recommend the house Margarita! If you are staying in the greater Palm Springs area this place is definitely worth the trip! read more

Patio was awesome. Ambiance was relaxed. The cover band was great too. Very diverse repertoire that appealed to all. We stopped by aft church to say hello to some family, so all we had were appetizers. Nachos were decent. Potato skins were delicious! It was happy hour so we got our grub half off. Terrible. If you are other than white don't even bother coming. Everyone and their dogs, literally, were helped before our party. The hostess was rude. There was no acknowledgment whatsoever and when we asked the waiting time we got the remark "some time still". It was 5 of us. Party's larger than us came into after and were tended to right away. Looking for a place to crash and watch the rest of the Seahawks game, we wound up here since our closest choice was SRO. We were in for a surprise. Hidden away, we never would have thought to go here. Glad we did. We watched the loss but enjoyed the food. I had a Kobe burger with homemade chips. The burger was a mile high so I ate the tomato and bacon on the side. It still was tall. How was it? A good burger nicely done. The chips really made it for me. I love crunchy ones on the thick side and these were done to perfection. The facility was clean. Service efficient. Prices moderately high. Quality of food good. So disappointed --we had heard such good things about this place. Food was cold when served and just so so. I will say the wings were some of the best Ive had but unfortunately out of the four meals we ordered, the appetizers were the only thing that was good (and warm). Onion rings cold---ribs cold-mac and cheese cold and mushy. And the service was horrible. The only time we saw our waitress was when she took the order and brought the check. Couldn't get a drink refill or any additional bbq sauce (which was good) because the ribs were very dry, because she never came over to ask us if we needed anything or how everything was. This place is amazing, we were hoping to find a place for a good old fashion cheeseburger and we hit the jackpot with this place. Our server was wonderful we believe he may be the owner. My all time favorite place to go whether it's for a drink, some good wings, dinner or even just a slice of pizza! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are fun and friendly. They have music and entertainment most nights. The patio area is beautiful, you do have to check in to be seated though. It's not open seating as most people think, and sometimes the wait is a little long but for the ambiance it is worth it! The patio is dog friendly and child friendly. They have a nice open dance floor for those who want to shake a little something. For these desert "winter" evenings/nights they have plenty of heaters and fire pits to keep you nice a cozy. If you're just going for a drink I'd recommend the Mr. Pickles, or the Coachella Cooler. You're looking at about $9-12 for drink but you won't be disappointed. This place is a gem and would always recommend to friends who are visiting. 10/10 in my book. read more

Not overly impressed, but good food. On a Wednesday night at 5pm the place is beginning to fill up. We got sat immediately next to the entrance. Please don't sit here. The front door slams, so there's a continuous slam of the door, such a pain. We ordered drinks, which came fast. The Mr. Pickle came with a spear in the drink. The drink was awesome, and potent. If youre a Bloody Mary guy, this is your drink. The beers are cold, and the martini is chilled and crisp. We ordered a couple apps, and got them in 7-minutes, an exceptable time. The quality spinach and artichoke dip, mini corn dogs worked well. Hot, crunchy, 2-sauces were a good match. My disappointment was it took 20-minutes for them to make 2-salads and a 1/2 rack of ribs. Which were fall off the bone, covered in BBQ sauce, and outstanding. The wedge was the size of Miami, and was cold, crisp, plenty of blue cheese crumbles, and bacon bits. The Caesar was the same, a very quality salad. Considering most drinks and apps were happy hour price, the three of us got out at $70. A cheap date for a mid week dinner. I'd go back, just don't expect the entrees to come out with an acceptable margin. The staff is very friendly. The service folks clearing plates and drinks are very efficient. Came for dinner Sunday night because I saw a picture of Pozole on here and it looked so good. I didn't see it on the menu so I asked about it. Its only served on Saturday! Bummer. I was craving it. Ended up ordering a cheese burger and onion rings. Don't watch time as too how long it took, just know when it showed up the burger was almost cold. The onion rings appeared dead cold greasy. My hamburger was more of a disappointment as the main meal. I'll say this though, it was cooked 'perfectly' medium rare. I told my server, she informed me they were swamped and she'd be glad to get me a new one. I have a hard time throwing food away so I told her I'd just like to replace the onion rings with a side salad with Blue cheese. When the salad arrived I took a bite and it was ranch, not blue cheese, damn strike 3, cold burger and onion rings, salad with wrong dressing. I don't blame her and she really tried to make things right. I might give it another try if I'm in the area but there are so many choices in this area to try first. read more

Don't go however at Polo season. *(December- February)...the management fawns over the polo players and assorted staff and totally ignores the locals and anyone who doesn't play polo. Four of us had dinner after the art show. Out of the way place with lots of outdoor seating. Came here for my birthday with my family. The food is amazing but service is HORRIBLE. I'm not sure if this lady just doesn't know how to do her job but half our families food came out and 25 mins later the other half came. Then 2 of the meals were missing part of the actual meal. When addressing the server about these things she was nothing but rude. The whole time she would talk she also would pull her mask down made us feel very uncomfortable. The busser was a better help then our server was. Lastly she started taking plates that we were not finished with. Only reason I gave two stars was because the food is good. Been coming here at least twice a week for over a year. Monday night I brought some friends from out of town. The service was horrific. My steak which has been consistantly great was incredibly overcooked. When I finally got the waiter and showed him, his answer was "I wrote down rare." And he left. It took so long for them to toast the bread on my wife's club sandwich that we all were done eating when it arrived. Don't know what kind of show they're running but it needs some work. First time visit to the Tack Room. PROS: Was able to see the World Series, game 2. The salsa was good (chips and salsa appetizer) The chicken sandwich was very good. The chocolate cake dessert was good. CONS: We followed the hostess to our booth. had to squeeze in between a table and a booth to get there. Ordered a Cadillac Margarita ($10) and there were 2 bugs in it. The waiter corrected it but did not offer to comp it The guacamole (chips and salsa appetizer) was browning and not very tasty. The appetizer shrimp cocktail was tasteless. The cocktail sauce was spicy hot! (horseradish?) The dressing on my side salad was bleu cheese. It was watered down and tasteless.
