This was our third time dining at the Framingham location. We have lived in the area long enough to…read moresee three restaurants come and go from this spot. Even though the space housed other ethnic restaurants since then, the decor and interior feel reminiscent of the old Iguana Cantina. The servers are friendly and quick to help. A bottomless basket of complimentary warm chips are thick and tasty and served with a plate of refried beans as well as a bowl of sneakily spicy salsa. I ordered the Loco Burrito on this visit and was pleased with the flavor of the carne asada beef diced up inside. This burrito was stuffed with meat, black beans, and rice and was topped with a sprinkling of cotija. I usually love a super cheesy burrito but this felt lighter on a hot summer day. After downing lots of chips and a delicious fountain Diet Coke (IYKYK), I only had room for half of my burrito. My teenage son happily finished the rest for me the next day. This restaurant is quiet and unassuming- and never feels busy. I hope y'all try it and love it so that they stick around!

We stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday and were surprised to find the restaurant so empty. I opted for a Corona, and the drink, with its tajin covered rim and trio of seasoned shrimp, was a refreshing start to the meal. The Chile Verde, served with either corn or flour tortillas, is a plentiful portion...easily enough to make 3 tacos. The pork was salty, tender, and flavorful, and the creamy beans were a nice complement. My family also enjoyed the Carne Asada and large Loco Burrito. Despite an empty dining room, the atmosphere was upbeat with friendly and attentive staff, colorful decor and Mexican tunes at the perfect volume on the radio.

The food was shockingly excellent and margaritas - while not the best I've ever had, decent and even better for the $7 price point. Margarita had just enough alcohol to make you feel real nice. I got the tacos (chicken and Barbacoa on a corn tortilla) and they were great. Tasted super authentic and loaded with cilantro and onions. The guacamole on the side was average but the salsa was good and had nice chunks of onions and peppers in it. My friends loved their enchiladas (enchilada de pollo with salsa verde), and expressed that the rice was nicely salted and beans were Smokey. One said she had one enchilada and was full and still had two more to go! Also heard the place is BUMPING late night on Saturday's so will need to check it out.

Fresh ingredients, nice sauces, and a tasty margarita made an early evening dinner perfect. Street parking was pretty easy at the end of the business day right after they opened. Downtown Framingham can be a traffic nightmare, but we zipped right in and right out. And the prices were so reasonable. Almost cheap eats!

We love going to Mexico City Taqueria. For her persuasive essay in first grade, my daughter chose…read moreto write about why Mexico City Taqueria is the best restaurant. I'm posting this review on behalf of my first grader. Note that she simply calls the restaurant "Mexico" because she doesn't know the full name. "In my opinion Mexico is the best restaurant. One reason I like Mexico is that there is funny skeletons in the entrance. It is funny. Another reason I like Mexico is because it is fun to wait. You can play iSpy or a card game. Also, I like their cheese quesadilla. For example the cheese quesadilla is cheesy. Now you know why Mexico is the best. Do you want to go?" We love going here. The food is great and atmosphere happy and colorful. And they are always kind to my kids. Thank you for many great evenings.

Very disappointed. We stopped here on our way home, thinking it might be busy on a Saturday at 5:45…read morebut we were 1/3 parties in there. The restaurant is relatively clean and decorated like a typical Mexican restaurant. Service was still pretty slow considering there were only 3 groups but atleast they were friendly. We finished our chips and they never came back to see if we wanted more. My husband and I both ordered burritos and should have read it more carefully it was literally just a burrito, dry as could be with no sides, no guacamole, no sour cream. They were just rice, beans, and meat. My husband's had very little meat in it and mine had a lot of inedible pieces of steak. Honestly chipotle has much better burritos. She never came back to ask if we were all set or needed anything. The margaritas were just okay. I ordered a side of refried beans that came in a broken bowl with a plastic spoon? Not sure if they are just really stingy on their prices (no chip refill, extra $ for sour cream), or what was going on but definitely won't be going back here.
