The Merrillville restaurant was not busy, except for the drive thru. We went in and was greeted cheerfully and took our orders. We didn't have to wait long, and the restaurant was very clean. The food itself was much tastier than some other locations I have been to. The ingredients were very fresh and they didn't lack in quantity of the components in my tacos and quesadilla. The staff weren't exceptionally friendly, but they were very efficient and polite. My family also is very picky, so we tend to customize almost everything we order from Taco Bell. To our surprise, they got everything right, which is a rarity at Taco Bell! We visited this location pretty close to when they closed and they weren't very busy so we thought the drive thru would move pretty quickly. That wasn't really the case, which is the reason for the deduction in stars. Just dropped by for lunch. One word, disgusting!!! The place was filthy... dirty tables, floor was so dirty I slipped, food all over the tray return stand, no a/c! Where do I begin... I ordered a Mountain Dew kickstart with my order. After I pay she hands me a red drink. I said I had a kickstart, aren't those orange? She said no, that's a kickstart. Lied right to my face. I hadn't received my food yet so I didn't argue any further about the Gatorade she just gave me. Then we get our food and my wife's food is missing. No big deal, I'll just go in and ask them for the missing food. Signs on the windows say "dining room open. come in!" All of the doors are locked. So I get back in my car and get in the drive thru line which is about 6 cars long. I get to the speaker and tell the lady what happened. She didn't apologize, just said the food will be ready when I get to the window. I said can I park and you bring it out to me? She said no you have to wait in the drive thru line (for a second time). I frequent this Taco Bell often when coming back from Valparaiso. The staff is pretty nice, but the last time I went, the food was cold, and they were out of baha blast. Hopefully I won't have this issue the next time I go. read more

So I gave a 5 star but now that I see this Taco Bell has prices higher than the other local Taco Bells I had to give a lower rating. Usually the burritos are part of the $2 menu but here there is no $2 menu and my veggie burrito costs $2.50 here while it costs just $2 at the Taco Bell in Shereville. Also the cinnabon delights are higher too. Great customer service but all franchises should adopt an identical cost scale especially being so close to other same franchises. read more

We have been there several times and they always forget to give us something and/or they make something wrong. Tonight was no different , the only thing that was, was the terrible attitude the cashier had when my husband went up there to get the order fixed correctly. He was never rude with her and he never raised his voice. She basically called him a lier, ripped her gloves off, and took off half way out of the kitchen area saying she was going to look before turning back around! Which I would have been perfectly fine with her looking but her whole attitude was outrageous. read more

i went in and got 2 orders of the new nacho grilled cheese fries and i have been to another taco bell before but this time they didn't put melted cheese on top so i kindly asked for a remake and one of the older employees was like "i don't know what u want me to do about that" and walked away i sat there for 5 minutes waiting for someone else to talk to and i just said "can i please get a remake?" and one of the older employees said "why do i have to make this again?" while remaking my order with a attitude she put my bag down on the counter and said nothing it was remade very messy like they just threw it all in there. read more

I'm a bit torn on this TB. Food has always been good and the employees are pretty nice and friendly. I swear to god every time I go in the dining room though the drink machine is broken. Every drink is always flat. I know with Corona they get your drink for you so that's probably a good thing. This might seem like a weird thing to bring up but flat Baja Blast is a big dealio. I've been in here a few times where the dining room is a bit messy but I'm gonna give em a break on that. I mean look at the area your gonna get some pigs and they're usually pretty busy I think with the mall just being down the street and the mall TB having ridiculous prices I'm sure everyone comes here. The parking lot around here has tons of potholes. I'm not gonna knock them on this cause I'm pretty sure it's probably the responsibility of the guy who owns the abandoned HH Gregg but just be aware while navigating to the TB. Overall it's a good experience. The area brings it down more than anything but I cant hold them responsible for that. read more

I placed my order via their app. I pulled up to the drive through lane at around 5PM. As I was entering the drive through lane there were a bunch of Taco Bell employees outside yelling and screaming at each other and calling each other bitches and such! They were almost in a fight. As I pulled up to the order screen the employee said that their order entry was down and that I would have to wait about 10 minutes. WTF? On 2/20/2021 I stopped at this location to get a meal and use restroom, about. before hopping on Interstate. for the long drive home. It was cold and about 11:30 am local time, the parking lot was full, not to mention freezing cold outside. I get my coat, glove and mask on to take the that freezing cold walk across the parking lot only to find the doors locked and a small note on door to claiming on to be open for drive through and deliveries. I wasn't to happy to have to walk back to my car empty handed. Walking carefully back to car as parking lot was iced as if it wasn't treated for the weather. As I go closer to my car, I slipped on the ice falling on both knees, hitting my head and cutting my hand. As I laid there trying to get my Barings I had to crawl to a spot that was free of ice to get back up. As I stated earlier, I need to use their restroom and that is why I stopped, so when I fell so hard it caused me to urinate on myself! Once I got into my car I notice there were many people in the dining room. I was confused as the doors were locked. I drove around to speak to manager only to be told the manager wasn't there. I asked who was in the dining room and was told a district manager who I then asked to speak with. At first, a woman came to window, who identified herself as the assistant manager, stating the man I wanted to speak to was there. I told her I didn't know who she was speaking of, but wanted to speak to the district manager sitting in dinning room. Next another woman came to window, the district manager, so I let her know I fell hitting my head and falling hard on both knees in the parking lot. The only thing she said was, " we are getting the lot plowed". Not "oh I'm sorry, are you ok?, do you need help?" I was so upset with her response I called Cooperate Office once I drove around to the parking lot. I have yet to hear from owner or that District Manager's superior!! Food is average for a fast food place. One complaint is you cannot see the menu through the drive thru at all. It's turned at a weird position so you can barely read it and the words on the menu are too small. You cannot read anything on the $1 menu portion... it's like they don't want you to see it.
