I also thought it was 8oz combined of rice & beans for like $2.99 but I believe it rang up as individual 8oz containers. My total for the plate (3 tacos) & sides came to ~$16 without a tip or drink. The chicken tacos were SO bland. I tried adding more lime, the grilled onions, radishes, both the red and green salsas, and even rice and beans but nothing could rescue the flat flavor of nothingness every time I bit into my tacos. My red salsa that came with my plate was genuinely lame, it had hints of Tabasco sauce? Like they were trying to make it so spicy without any actual depth or flavor. I expected more from this place. I did try my friends steak from his taco and it was a bit more flavorful, so perhaps I got the wrong meat. Their employees were very nice and service wasn't too long, restaurant clean but limited seating! I would only return here to try the California burrito. I can find similar prices and great quality elsewhere.

The birria tacos were also pretty delicious a little soggy but that's to be expected with how much cheese they put, with big chucks of meat. The horchata reminded me of a churro from Disneyland. It was so refreshing and not too sweet...absolutely perfect! We really wanted to get dessert but were stuffed by the end of our meal. While I was waiting for my burrito (around 1:15 PM, just past the lunch rush), I noticed a steady stream of customers coming in for takeout along with multiple DoorDash pickups. That alone told me this place is doing something right. When my burrito was ready, I was pleasantly surprised that they actually brought it out to me. The burrito itself was a great size, packed with flavor, and incredibly filling. I left feeling completely satisfied. I've seen people mention that the dining room is limited, and while it is on the smaller side, there's still plenty of seating for dine-in. They are promoted as Mexican Street Food. I was pleasantly impressed with photo op wall that reads, 'I can't make everyone happy. I'm not a taco.' lol The three tacos I tried - corn steak taco, chicken flour taco and a shrimp taco plus guacamole. The shrimp taco was the winner by a landslide. I took my meal to-go. From the doubled up corn tortillas, to the tender well cooked meat, cilantro and their wonderful sautéed onions these Street style Taco's are as authentic as anything you would get in Mexico. The gratis house chips and Salsa were equally tasty and a nice complement to the Taco's all being washed down with a sugar cane based Mexican coke. The total bill came in at a very reasonable cost of $12 which is a great value in today's economy and a great deal by any standard. Relative to staff and facility, this appears to be a small family run business where the restaurant itself is located in a small strip mall at the corner of Franklin and Square Lake Rd with an equally small footprint for the restaurant. This is a very unpretentious business (think hole in a wall but in a nice way) with a limited number of dining tables and small staff. Having said that, I had no problem in getting seated and getting my order taken and food brought out in fairly quick order! I have been on a kick for a while now trying to find the best taco joint in the the northern Oakland county area and have to say this is as good as I have come across up to now and am a big fan of this business. After about 15 minutes, we got the sizzling plates. The food was so good! The rice was cooked to perfection, the beans were seasoned well and topped with cheese, all the toppings were cut up in a way to eat them easily. Overall, everything was fresh and tasty.
