Joel Hansen did a food challenge here, so when we drove past, we had to stop and get some food. It was so packed with people, so bring your patience. We ordered tacos. They had 6 different tacos so we ordered one of each. They had condiments cart which made it convenient to choose your own toppings. The tacos were really tasty; probably one of the best we ever had. The meat was so delicious and they give you plenty of it in each taco (see picture). It's very crowded here, but they are very efficient and we had our food in hand very quickly. Enjoy! Despite this place being extremely busy on a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was very clean.the Servers were cleaning tables immediately after people were done eating the condiment area was constantly fully stocked and cleaned frequently and their not skimpy on none of the toppings they all were fresh. I really like that . I ordered a $12.99 Carne Asada burrito with cheese and no beans the burrito well seasoned and packed full with Carne Asada we also ordered the Tuesday Special 4 Tacos $12.00 we ordered 2 Carne Asada and 2 Pollo Taco with a cold refreshment. Casual AUTHENTIC Mexican spot with GREAT PORTIONS + PRICE! Got recommended this from a Phoenix local friend prior to my visit. It's such a casual authentic Mexican taco spot. So glad I stopped by. You could tell the staff was likely all or mostly had Mexican heritage, and the locale played authentic Mexican music. The quality of the food is great! Super tasty and the portion size was really good for the affordable price- I was impressed! This was the most economical item that I tried during my visit to Arizona ( Phoenix/Scottsdale/Grand Canyon/Sedona). Kindly requested to package the tortillas separate from the filling as we were a bit rushed to get to the airport and would eat it there. This is the best taco place in Arizona! They are quick and the food is always fresh. I have tried many things but lately I like to order the family meal which is a pound of meat that comes with 15 tortillas. We order the carne asada and eat it for a couple days. The inside of the restaurant is always packed. Rightfully so! When you order tacos they come with meat on a tortilla and you get to add your own toppings. The red hot sauce is my favorite! i ordered 2 carne asada tacos and 1 el pastor. THEY CLOSE AT 4pm The food at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The carne asada tacos were also not up to par, as they were fatty and filled with gristle. In fact, I was so disappointed with my second bite that I ended up throwing the rest of the tacos away. To make matters worse, when I went to order more tacos at 3:45pm, the staff told me they were closed at 4pm and turned me away. What can one say really that hasn't been said. There's a reason this place is alway super busy. But line moves fairly fast. Only been there twice, late night, after Suns games. It's essentially little Mexico there, seriously, I feel like I'm in Mexicali minus the terrible emissions air quality. No español? No problemo! They speak excelente English. Be prepared to be a little assertive getting your condiments like awesome limes, peppers, salsa etc at the salsa station, because everyone around you certainly is, it's not for the weak or frail, that's for sure. Hooray! Finally got to try the famous Taco Boy's. Tried their carne asada tacos, and oh my... the meat is so fresh and flavorful, and their salsa bar is something! All their salsa tasted so fresh and good, perfect for eating with tacos and even chips! Meat was a bit salty to me as I eat my food kinda bland, but it was pretty good. I could just eat their meat! Came here for the first time and being from Southern California I keep my bar high when it comes to tacos. The carne asada was good but the al pastor was not the best tasting taco I've had. They could do better with the al pastor. However, the thripas were divine :) they were not chewy and the were tender and had a light crisp to them which triggered a childhood memory for me. The beans are great -- also very flavorful. There is a salsa bar, and I didn't need anything on my tacos except a little lime because the meat was so good. The burritos looked amazing (what my brother got). I absolutely want to come back here. My only complaint -- we got a side of beans, and it came on a plate with foil on top. It was busy at 6:30pm on a Sunday; however, the line to order was short and I received my order in about 5 minutes. Add your own diced onions and cilantro on top of your tacos; however, their pico also has diced jalapenos, but they weren't very spicy. But it's not too hard to park down the street and walk over. You can smell the barbecued meat before you even come inside. Ah, so good. I ordered the Al Pastor and Chicken, hubs got carne asada. We were helped right away and served fast. The order takers at the front take your order and then someone else rings you up. The toppings bar has pickled onions and cucumbers (not pickled) to refresh your palate. Salsa's were all delicious. They kept the bar full and fresh looking. On this day, their AC had broke. But it wasn't miserably hot yet outside, so it was not a total inconvenience. You could tell they were trying to fix it. There were options to sit outside too.
