I am very disappointed in the unacceptable food I was given today at our Taco Bueno Restaurant. This is the only Taco Bruno in at least a 30 mile radius, and one would think it would have high standards in serving the food that is advertised, especially when they are competing with other taco establishments such as Taco Bell and Taco Mayo. We live 17 miles from the Taco Bueno and we go out of our way to eat there because we enjoy their food. But not today. If this was something minor, I would overlook it, but we were cheated out of a full meal. The tacos I received had a smidgen on taco meat and couldn't even fill the bottom of the taco and it was filled with lettuce and tomatoes, thinking it would hide the minimum scoop of taco meat I received on all of my tacos. If I put all of the taco meat from all six tacos, it would have only filled one taco decently. Unacceptable. Additionally, our bean burritos were practically empty! One third of the burrito had nothing in it; it was just a tortilla. Again, I took photos to send to show visual proof of this complaint. For us to pay almost $30 to feed my family of four and get these skimpy scoops of taco meat in my taco and a practically empty bean burrito that left my family still hungry is truly unacceptable and I am very disappointed and upset. We have been patrons of Taco Bueno for several years, choosing them over the other competitive taco establishments, but tonight's meal was truly disappointing to say the least. I know my almost $30 meal will not put a bucket in this corporation, but if you strive for customer satisfaction like you preach on your commercials nationwide, then the management of this particular store has a lot to learn to teach their staff quality food control. read more

All Taco Buenos in Lubbock are closed. They were here when we moved here in 2011 but not managed well. They left for about 5 years and came back with one location. It was mismanaged as well and did not last. read more

When they was on 38 th we ate there twice a week at least , since they moved to 82 nd its been the worst tb I've ever been in. The attitude the food, burritos with a smear of beens folded so thin they are like envelopes, not a party burrito but a regular one , went in to complain an a couple of chuckle heads was standing there that made the food grinning from ear to ear , I made the comment they were thin as an envelope and they laughed with glee an said , dats dem mail burritos will fit in yo mailslot ahaha ! I asked to see manager a guy said wasn't none here , he would fix it . On our first visit, I was surprised at the bad reviews. Our experience was great. The staff was exceptional and super friendly and the food was fabulous. Fast forward 10 days and we took my mom shopping to get her out of the house and stopped in. The person at the counter did not greet us at all, and in fact, seemed very annoyed that we had walked in tbh. I don't care so much about that as I just assume they might be having a bad day. We all do, right? ‍ But he ended up being straight up rude. Alas, we were there for lunch, not his stellar company, so we got our food and went to a table. Everything was ok tasty except the chips which were stale and chewy, and the food was lukewarm. We ate and then left. Then about a week or so later, my nieces wanted to go to Spirit Halloween and then to Taco Bueno to eat. We were hesitant based on the previous visit, but went ahead with it as the first visit went so well. Omg it was the worst food I think we've ever gotten. It was about 35 minutes after they opened, so we figured it would be fresh and hot, we were the only customers, and there were maybe 9 staff behind the counter and cook area. Nothing could be further from the truth! The chips were worse than the second visit. They were not only stale and chewy, but tasted like they were days old. Everything was cold. EVERYTHING. I'm not exaggerating. They had been open for 40 minutes by the time we received our food, so it should've been fresh and hot - if one considers most restaurants bring staff in about an hour prior to opening for prep. The "guacamole" and refried beans had to have been from the day before as they were on our plate like a hard baseball. Who the heck would think it's ok to serve this? We threw our food away and left. The staff saw and didn't even bother asking if something were wrong, although it was obvious that there was. We went thru drive thru on 12-27-23 around 5:20 ish and the girl was incredibly rude. She asked if we needed a receipt and I said please and she got a worse attitude. I asked her at beginning if I could please get some pico for my two muchacos and when we got order-there wasn't any so we got her attention and was very nice and said we didn't get any pico-she never said a word and it was obvious she had a major attitude and came back with one but we didn't say anything and just left. Got home and this is what muchacos looked like! Almost 10.00 for the trash!!! I wish Management would review footage and see how this girl is representing their business!! I LOVED THE ONE ON 38TH. Cannot believe after nearly 50 years it closed. This one is so far away. Good food. Fresh. But with qdoba near I always end up there. Dumb move to put this right next to a teensy Mexican place Regulars will remember this is a good substitute for a taco bell. Salsa bar. Fresh food daily. Really good food. If it were only closer. me and my friend came in today 8/4/24. at first the lady was nice and polite with us. when we got our cups to get our drinks they didn't have the lids for our size cups so i had to go up and ask for the lids. and the lady talked to me like I didn't know where the lids were at, until I told her they didn't have the lid size we needed until she finally got them for us. then they didn't even call our food order out they just sat it there. once we got in the car the we checked the food, the tortilla wasnt cooked, it was very easily damaged, rubbery, and it looked it was just thrown in there. very disappointing because I was just here two days ago and the street tacos were really good then. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! Waited 20+ minutes for 3 things and the staff wouldn't even update us. They just kept walking around acting as if they didn't have things to do! After waiting 10 minutes, the cook came up & said it's going to be another 6 minutes because they need to drop fresh taquitos! But 10 minutes later, still no food! Then the drive-thru cashier came to the window & said I need to pull up because it's going to be a little longer. Are you serious?? For 3 items?? I've been a taco bueno fan since I was a kid but the Lawton location has lost my business forever. The last three times I've had it the beans were god awful they tasted old and burned. The tortilla chips were stale and covered in oil. The queso is either so bland it taste like water or filled with so much pepper it will leave you coughing for an hour. My last visit the staff couldn't even be bothered to read no chili sauce on the order and covered everything in it. It's pretty sad I've never had a bad experience until they closed down the 38th street location since then the service and quality control has been absolutely horrendous. read more

I didn't think there was such a thing as bad Mexican food. Taco Bueno proved this wrong. It wasn't just bad, it was horrible. I just "finished" two brisket tacos and I wish I could be positive and say one good thing about it but... First the taste is very unappealing. The guacamole tasted like soap and the brisket taco tasted like lighter fluid. At any other time I would be displeased by paltry portions, but I'm glad they didn't give me more of their very unpleasant food. The downsize is I paid $13 and some cents for garbage. Taco Bueno used to be my favorite fast food taco restaurant. Everything was always delicious and hot and fast! Since it has moved locations it has gone down hill. More than half the time I go there now, the wait is super long which would be fine if they would get my order correct! More than half the time my order is incorrect. I get charged for extras I didn't order or something is left out of my order or the meat is switched from beef to chicken! The tacos are sloppy at best and almost inedible at worst. The ground beef tacos drip so much grease.....it's just disgusting! Several times I've ordered potato burritos only to find no potato in them! The last chicken quesadilla I ordered wasn't even cut and I had to hunt for the chicken! My family and I have all but stopped coming here because of the terrible service! We keep thinking maybe it'll be better this time but so far it's stayed at terrible! It will be a long time before we ever give them our money again. read more

Taco Bueno seems to be just Bueno! The staff was interesting, not really much in the line of customer service. They were although very fast when it came to taking care of guests. When I got to the window is where it went funny. I was handed an Unsweet tea, and then a tiny bag, I would have wondered if it was anything, so I asked. The girl then expressed "you would be surprised what I can fit in something like that." Awkward comments may enter your mind but I felt the bag, and honestly I was impressed but my taco was broke. 1 hard taco, a combo burrito, chips and two queso. OMG she fit a lot in a tiny bag. I was very disappointed with the food and cleanliness of the restaurant. First of all, before we even got our order, someone came in saying their order was wrong. They took his original bag and placed it on the counter. They then proceeded to not throw it away and instead give that food to other orders that had what was in the bag. That should have been my first red flag. When i actually got my food, the tacos weren't bad, but the beans were separated because of how much grease they put in them. I had to take my beans and drain the grease from them because of how greasy they were. Finally, when I had to go to the bathroom right before we left, the side of the toilet and even some of the seat had a brown stain on it. I would definitely not recommend eating here. After being treated this way, we walked out. He finally spoke and said, "Are ya'll coming back?" We said, "No." Never been treated so rudely! I have never been so disappointed in this restaurant since we PCS'd to Ft Sill in 2009. I just left this 38th street location. I ordered what I order every time I come potato, egg and cheese burrito add bean and potato. I usually get about 10 of those because I have a big family. Normally the service is superb but today I was appalled. They were rude, short and there was a young man (who by the way, looked like he hadn't washed his face before coming to work because he had dried crusty stuff around his mouth) took my money and dang near threw my food in my car! He sound like he got upset when I asked how long it would take to make more eggs when he said he only had enough to make 2 of the 4 of the burritos I ordered. The experience was so bad that I didn't even eat the food because I was scared they may have done something to it so we just threw it in the dumpster by the entrance to the parking lot and went to Taco bell where we received amazing customer service! I'm guessing the dramatic decline in customer service, availability of food and food is due to the change in staff. The people that are usually there moved to the new location on 82nd street. There's better service over there it's just a little far. But I will not be spending my husband's hard earned money at this location ever again! And I will be sharing my horrible experience with all of my friends, military spouses and every social media I have access to read more
