So I'm here as a volunteer for the Winter State Carnival. Don't waste your time at this place. Portions suck, Prices sucks, environment sucks, staff sucks... everything sux. And the drive thru sign was so hard to read through the layer of dirt, smudge and half-ass lightbulbs I practically had to get out of my car to read the durn thing. Why I didn't keep driving is beyond me. Thought maybe all their focus would be on the food I guess. A Dont judge a book by its cover type mentality... NOPE When Mr half-awake headset man gave me my order, he looked at me like I was speaking Portuguese when I commented... "so y'all don't give salsa with ur tacos?... "SALSA"?... he says right b4 my 5 min wait for him to find his way to the back, stand there til he remembers again why he's there, and then bring it to me... ugh *To be honest the food wasn't TOO terrible, so I'll up it to 1.3 stars I guess.

My experiences at this location have been very good every time. Whoever is the manager of this place, the message to you is that your employees are so friendly, they totally rock! I've only ever sampled the breakfast tacos because I often venture out to work without having consumed my Cheerios because I like sleep, but also like to venture into the office early and swagger across empty aisles of seats, so it's usually a mad scramble (:-)) out the door sans eggs and toast. The tacos are delicious, affordable and their salsas rock. My favorites I'd recommend - get the STEAK. The steak is so well cooked and toothsome.. no sauce necessary. Other than that, plain egg with potato, or get the ones with bacon or chorizo, if you find them among your choices. I can feed my face for around $5 and meet the work day with vigor! Thank you!

Beyond meat nacho mania - DeSoto location (It's the cheese for me)
    Nicole C.

All Nacho Mania's are not created equal, unfortunately. My beyond meat nacho was totally different from the one my mom received at a southwestern Dallas location (DeSoto) and hers looked so much cheasier & better. Another family member got one in Arlington, and theirs also looked much cheasier and more appetizing. Mine wasn't 100% "bad". It could have been worse, but, it was more dry and with a lot of vegetables from the beyond meat mixture. I guess I wasn't sure what to expect, but now that I've seen others I won't be rushing back to this location for Nachos at least. (You'll see why in the pictures - mine is the one with the sour cream) Even if I hadn't seen the others I wouldn't. Months ago I picked up other items to-go including quesadillas & beverages.

It's a Texas thang well it's Tex Mex but I love Taco Cabana they have some of the best Tex Mex in Texas I like them better than Taco Benuo though and the prices are reasonable as well so yeah I'm just loving this Texas food

Slow service. They were clearly short staffed today, but the few associates working had no pep on their steps, as sluggish as they come. The dining room only had a couple of ppl. They just can't keep up with mobile orders and their regular customers. The manager should really evaluate that. It was a bad experience and we weren't told sorry for the delay or we are working to get your order out. We were asked, what number are you...and after responding, they kept fulfilling other orders. The food was surprisingly good. Got beans and cheese tacos. They had chicken on the grill the whole 20 min I was waiting, cooking on one side, nobody attending to it. They also do not have the salsa bar open. So you have to ask for salsa evertime and one lady runs into the back for 2 min to grab 4 cups of the different salsas, 3 of which you don't want. Get it together this Taco Cabana location.

Nasty bean and cheese taco. With no cheese present and burned flaky rotten beans.

We come in weekly- sometimes more than once. Breakfast food is usually good and Curtis at the window is so incredibly friendly. Today however, we came to the drive thru and our food literally looked like it was a week old. It was not edible at all. The bean & egg tacos were literally hardened and flaking like dried glue almost. Bacon in other tacos was burned as well and eggs were almost only visible w a microscope. We have called to get our money refunded and of course no human ever answers.

The Salsa Verde is sketchy AF and mostly juice...

I LOVE Taco Cabana. I could eat it every day. That being said, this particular location just needs to close its doors. The people that work here have zero ambition, drive, passion, care for the company or its quality standards. In the past two years that I have tried to give this particular location a chance, I have only been disappointed EVERY SINGLE TIME that I have gone there. Most of the time we drive to the Lewisville even though Irving is closer, just so that we don't have to deal with the headache of this store. Here are just a FEW examples of our experience with the Irving Taco Cabana: They let the tortilla pucks sit out in the open air so long before they send them through the tortilla machine that they formed a skin on them that was later COOKED AND SERVED to customers. Once I ordered a burrito and received a bowl. When the guy asked me if I wanted him to remake it, I said yes, he proceeds to put the tortilla on the grill that someone cooked chicken on, thus getting orange colored chicken oil all over the outside of my burrito. The worst part of it is that you know he had to wrap that burrito. He knew all of that was on the outside and he STILL served it. Another time my kids had to wait 15 mins for their pancakes because "they have to cook for five mins"....what about the other 10 mins?!!! AND they were burned?! I could go on but it would he exhausting. Just save yourself the trouble and go to Lewisville.

Shortly later our drinks were brought to us and the servers returned for our appetizer order, which we declined and went straight to the meals. I ordered the Barbacoa Taco plate. It came with 3 tacos filled to the max as well as rice and black beans. My son ordered the Mole Enchilada plate. My tacos were moist and easy to eat, I added a little of the chip salsa to each which added to the flavor. I thought the rice and beans were well done as well. I did try some of my sons Mole Enchiladas. They had a chocolate flavor. He enjoyed them. The music, the decor and the layout are done nicely. You are able to freely talk at your table and not over hear people at the tables beside you. So kudos to that. I did enjoy my time spent here last night for dinner. My compadre and I keyed in on the same dish - hatch chili enchiladas. All of their food is made.from scratch in small batches, so the wait is longer than some places. However, the quality is superior. We both loved our lunches. We also ordered yucca fries and a queso Blanco, which were quite good. The interior was very nice and modern. It was not too loud. All seats are high chairs, which my wife would've hated if she'd been on the trip. For us, it was comfortable. The reason this was not 5 stars is that the taste was not what we expected and the prices were high. If you order hatch chili anything, you expect a little spice from the chilis.. I didn't taste the hatch chili in my entree. Question Blanco was a little bland despite it being much higher quality than what I get locally. It was $25+tip for 2 enchiladas, 1 queso, and a soft drink. I recommend giving them a shot. It is a very nice place with nice people.

When we asked the manager about it, he didn't seem to know they changed this. 10/25/25 was 8.25% tax (including alcohol in the order). All recent bills were anywhere from 13% to 16.5% hidden in the "tax" line, not even itemized. I'm sure because they know most won't realize it. This may explain why on a Friday at 5pm (even with a social hour) the bar was empty except for one other couple. The charbroiled filet mignon was the star of the show however. We were not expecting such a great steak at a Mexican restaurant. The table side charring was perfect! Charred to a perfect medium rare with the right amount of seasonings. If we're ever in Dallas/Irving area...we'd definitely return! Well done.

The inside reminds me of most of the Tex-Mex themed restaurants in Dallas. The FESTIVE colors, chairs & booth seating, bar photos on the wall. Service to the table was nothing exceptional. After scanning the menu, I ordered the trio fajita which is steak, chicken, and shrimp. I wanted to be able to pick my meat combo. I really just wanted the Chicken and Shrimp. Luckily, the Mister was able to eat the beef. They came sizzling! The Chicken was tender and the marinade was not over-powering. The shrimp was cooked but very fishy. I squeezed fresh lemon on it and it pulled out the intended flavor. I was not particularly awed with garnishments. I wanted shredded lettuce and maybe my choice of beans black or pinto. Nonetheless, the overall plate was good and I RECOMMEND for anyone looking for a high protein meal. The chips and dip came out first with both salsa and a bean dip. LOVED the bean dip as a counter to the spicy salsa. They did not have queso blanco but I know this is mostly a lower Mexico to central-America staple.

We ended up getting a trio (beef, chicken, shrimp) fajita 1/2 pound and it was perfect for the 2 of us. You can taste the grilled and charred flavor on the meats. The chicken and shrimp were slightly on the drier side but when combined with the sour cream, beans, guac, cheese, they were perfection. For the two people, the limitation ended up being more the toppings to the fajitas but it was just enough. At about $25 for 2, that was a steal. The queso was about $9.
