Ordered online and was told it would be 11 minutes. Upon arrival roughly 13 minutes later I had to wait an additional 32 minutes to get my order. My order of a small chicken quesadilla was made with beef, my cabana bowl was made without lettuce and my large chips and queso came without the queso. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

This my first ever bad experience with a Taco Cabana. I ordered a beef fajita taco combo. The tortillas weren't nearly as fresh and soft as they usually are. The beef was so salty my tongue was burning. It also had a chemica/cleanser type aftertaste. Dipping it in the cold nacho cheese made it tolerable. On Tuesday, November 03, 2020 I decided to drive through to pick up a quick, early dinner for the family. The line was short and quick so I thought things were going well. I mistakenly trusted that the meal I ordered would be in my bag. At home I was reminded that humans can't do their jobs correctly as half of my order was missing. I returned to the restaurant and found a long line so I opted to walk in to get my order corrected since the huge banner (posted) stated they were open. They are NOT. I saw the apparent manager running the drive-thru outdoors so I asked if the dining room was open. He said the sign says it's closed...I said the banner says you're open. He rudely said the sign on the door says closed. I returned the rudeness by telling him to take the banner down so people aren't fooled out of their cars to discover they've been misinformed by a small sign on the door. He eventually tried to offer a free meal which I declined (I only wanted what I paid for). Ultimately I've had to lower my expectations of human performance another notch. read more

I shall visit again in the near future. +1 star. Original post below. I didn't want to leave a negative review after only one bad experience. I feel it isn't fair to judge a restaurant if I happen to be there when they're having, for all I know, a rare bad day. So I gave them another shot. The first time, the store was dirty, the wait from register-to-table was long, and they forgot the chips for my queso. I had to ask two people behind the counter for my chips. The second time, the store was dirty. The wait to order was long as the sole cashier, at one point, interrupted the order of someone ahead of me to clarify the previous order with the previous customer. (It was a complicated order, from what I heard, and I'm not blaming the staff for a difficult order by a customer, but interrupting the next guest mid-order wasn't cool.) While I was ordering, the cashier mentioned at one point that she was tired because she'd been here since 6am (it was a little after 12pm at that point.) I then waited about 12 minutes to get my food. My order was correct this trip, but the wait was still long, and the restaurant was still dirty. +1 star for location +1 star for Taco Cabana overall; I've been a lifelong loyal customer, and I encourage readers to not be put off by the performance of this location alone - 1 star for batting .500 with my order -1 star for long wait two weeks apart -1 star for wait, cleanliness. I grew up eating taco cabana when I was younger. I love their tortillas. However after years of not visiting this place I decided to stop by for a Taco. Bad choice literally. I asked for a carne guisada Taco and I this is what I got (see below) I had no clue I was only going to get sauce and no meat. I will never come to this place again. Ohhhh. I have been needing to write this review for a while. Ohhhhh. I'm seriously Lol'ing right now because the experience was the worst. I got to TC at about 1:30, the drive thru line was atrocious so I opted to go inside. I had time on my hands. I was pregnant and craving a Taco Cabana taco salad specifically, don't ask me why, pregnancy does some strange things to your brain and belly. So I get there, inside is kind buzzing, as in people standing around waiting it looked like. I put in my order and sat down at a table to wait patiently. Only then, was I aware of the hell I had just enlisted in. These people were all sitting with no food in front of them and angry faces. I spun to the left, the same. Spun to the right, more hungry angry faces. What was this?! I looked towards the service counter, a lady with her hat flipped backwards stood with her arms crossed, tapping her foot irritatedly. Woah. We are waiting I see. 20 minutes later and we are still waiting. An older man and his what appears to be his daughter walk in and order, I was shaking my head at them dramatically writing "HELP" in the air with my index finger. He squinted at me and speed-walked the furthest path to the furthest table. Ok, sure whatever, he would know soon enough. We waited. The tensions were growing high. Every once in a while someone would yell, "what's going on back there?!" A couple tables were served but when I looked around the dining area I had to be at least number #12. I thought about leaving, but pregnancy cravings kept me focused. Then, older guy walks to the service counter, I would have warned him about flipped hat angry woman but I didn't because at this point I needed some entertainment. He stepped in front of her to inquire about his food. She snapped at him aggressively. She said something along the lines of... can't you see we are all waiting you dummy. Sheesh, I laughed. Then an employee wandered out into the court with the nerve to refill the toppings bar. The nerve. That's like watering your rose garden in a drought with an audience of dehydrated people. We are in here struggling with hunger, waiting on our food and you have the audacity to refill cilantro and salsa?! If you don't get back there and work for the cause so we can eat! One heavy-set woman pounced on her and she wheeled her toppings cart back to the kitchen with a haste. At this point, we were looking at each other like lions, waiting for the next victim, the next meal. Then my food came and I lost interest in everyone else and dived in. I waited nearly 45 minutes. There was nothing fast about this food. Then to top it off my food was n-a-S-t-y! Nasty! My food ingredients slowly started to melt and coalesce together into a liquid in my taco shell. Even the taco shell was melting! Now I knew what was taking so long! They were back there forming fake food from mush and refuse. They had some sculpting skills but the food didn't hold to true form, unfortunately. Gross. I didn't know what I was eating after a while. It was just one big GLOOP. Why did I wait for this?! I threw it in the trash and walked out. I will never enter this establishment again. I have been scorned. read more

From chicago, in town for a family reunion. After hittin a bar in rice village and gettin the munchies, my cousin took my sister and i to this place. Now in Chicago, our late night mexican joints are quick, greasy, and mediocre. Of course, delicious when you've had a couple of shots or beers. But Taco Cabana does a great job delivering quality food. A Mexican joint that speaks for itsself is one that does great tasty meat without having to dress up a taco with a bazillion things to make it more flavorful. So thumbs up from me! Really yummy steak. Love that their salsa and pico de gallo are in cups on the side to prevent premature sogging if you're taking food "to go". Delish! My only gripe is? No horchata. First, they honor military discounts. Businesses that do this, are always appreciated. Second, there are certain things I can eat. Taco Cabana food can be modified and still enjoy their food. I cannot eat breads or sugars for now (getting healthier). I was able to eat the steak fajitas. I ordered the plate and Sabit (sp?), was very kind to help modify my food. I had romaine lettuce and tomatoes with the steak fajitas. Healthy and nutritious for me to eat. A big thank you for this!!! Did I want the delicious other Mexican dishes??? Absolutely!! Lol!!! However, it is not nutritious for me and will not keep me on the healthy food intake. It's about choices and making the right ones to meet your goal. Thanks again TacoCabana!!! I am not a fan of Taco Cabana usually, just not my style of food. But it was late, I decided why not give it a go? I should have just went literally anywhere else. First off, my order was taken wrong. I told the girl that actually took my order and she asked me, "did I take your order?" We were two out of the 5 people in the place. And she got my order wrong. Then didn't remember me less than 5 minutes later. I got it easy. My friend waited 30 minutes for his food. Nothing at Taco Cabana should take 30 minutes. But yes, after 30 minutes he asked about his food. The reason it took so long? They had no lettuce. They just forgot to mention it, and didn't make the plate because they didn't have lettuce. In short, I won't return to this location. I don't even want to look at it when I drive by. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. read more

What can I say...Taco Cabana is pretty great! I'd never had TC until about 2 years ago when we arrived in Houston. I was a little apprehensive assuming it was just a Taco Bell clone (and I sort of wore out the magic of Taco Bell in college). Turns out its much much better than Taco Bell, the interior is almost...fun(?) to be in, and the overall experience always feels really laid back. We like grabbing taquitos or fajitas and an ice cold beer and relaxing after a long day. The chicken taquitos are fantastic, the sour cream chicken enchiladas are great, and the fajitas are surprisingly good for a counter service joint. I am a big stickler for customer service and I have to say that for as busy as this place ALWAYS is, they keep cool heads, stay friendly and helpful, and always manage to be smiling. I love to go here and get bean & cheese tacos my favorite but haven't been in about 6 months to this location since its closer..........every time i went i would tell them fresh tortillas please and there response is "THERE ALWAYS FRESH" and my response was "NO THERE NOT"!! The tacos are plentiful and fresh. They have a large machine usually making the tortillas while you wait for food. My usual combo is a black bean & shredded chicken taco for about $3. The food is at a higher quality than comparable fast food places. Watch out for the water. Pearland water in general is dangerous. read more

This place was such a let down. All glitz and no substance. My husband and I lamented hard after our meal. We should have just gotten taco bell. It would have been 50% cheaper, 50% tastier, and 50% more filling. Such a ripoff. Almost 20 bucks for a half full, lackluster burrito bowl and 1 burrito 2 tacos. It lacked flavour, the meat was so sparse my husband thought his burrito was vegetarian instead of steak. Terrible place. Their only saving grace is the drive through. Final grade: D Never again!
