We've been coming here for over 4 years now, and the food and service has been consistently great. The portions are huge; we usually order the carnitas burrito and burrito bowl and it ends up being over a lb each! The quality is fresh and tastes delicious (plus it's healthy), and the restaurant is very clean. The owner, Juan, is a hardworking nice friendly guy and always greets us with a warm welcome. Do not order pickup here. I ordered 2 tacos and burrito bowl. When I arrived the worker said they did not get any online orders. I showed my online receipt, and was told they could make it. However, the worker was rude and rushed the order. He would just put the same ingredients across all of the dishes, and in the end wouldn't even give utensils claiming they were out. Not sure if this is an issue with the restaurant or the system they use, but service was not great either. Maybe only go here if you order in-person. read more

Food is ok to good. However the service not so much. Online resources state that they open at 11am. Today, the employees had just rolled in at noon and stated that they wouldn't be able to serve until 12:30pm. I happened to go last night as well and again, supposed to close at 9pm but employees had closed by 8pm. I hope the owners are reading this. Your business is going to tank if this keeps happening.... Don't sell me a taco salad with when you don't have lettuce. Ordered online for pickup, claimed he didn't understand my instructions to leave sauces on the side. New owners??!? Went today and it was bad! Normally this is our go to lunch spot on the way back from Overlake but today will definitely be the last time we go here. The meat was horrid! I should have stopped them when I saw the glowing white chicken chunks (far from the normal looking stewed chicken), but for some reason didn't. Got myself a chicken burrito and my husband a ground beef burrito... Got home and after my first bite, almost threw up it was so bad. Upon further investigation, 90% of the chicken was cartilage and rubber bits of 'chicken'. My husband said the beef was bland. The queso tasted sour and the chips were stale. Saw new people running the place today and can only assume it's new ownership or they are maybe trying new product??!? I got a burrito and my sister who is a vegetarian got some tacos with fake meat in it. She said the tacos were very good, and I loved my burrito! It was also really clean inside, and the various food choices looked delicious and not like they had been sitting out. Ordered online. One of the burritos was supposed to be vegan and one was supposed to be wet. Foe the wet one, they did not add the sauce and was wrapped pike a regular burrito. The vegan burrito has a bunch of cheese in it. It looked like cheese was put on about half the burrito; it was more than what might have been on accident from one of the other ingredient bins. I called and asked for a refund on the vegan burrito, but all they said wqs just bring it back. Cheese makes we sick rather quickly, so that is not an option, let them know and again asked for a refund. read more

The quality at this taco Del Mar is going down immensely. The guy never has a good mood, the food is not prepared right compared to the other taco Del Mar's and when I asked them what's going on? He just said talk to the owners. The beans are so watery and the chicken they don't even bother shredding. So disappointed. read more

Was pretty disappointed with the deceptive uncharging while building the burrito, it should be clear adding sour cream costs extra. (This was presented as "Sour cream and salsa?") Also very little attention to detail, my burrito was split open when wrapping it and that was just ignored. Fairly ho-hum taste/presentation for the price, I won't return. read more

I give 3 stars because nothing really stands out here, if you are looking for something different than McDonalds this is your place, but that is about all that is provided. The place has very little traffic, which is nice if you want a quick burrito or taco etc.. but avoid during peak times because the staff can't really seem to handle much more then 1 person at a time. Drink selection is extremely basic, the biggest problem however is after 3 tries my food always seems to be sloppily made. I've been the only person in the store and felt either rushed, or that I'm inconveniencing the staff. The mascot for Taco Del Mar has ALWAYS been a fish, having fish tacos should not seem like a chore to make. It honestly feels like going to a food court location, without the mall. To put it simple, if they hired employees that were patient in getting your order just right, with the staffing that makes future crowds and rushes taken care of in a breeze, and perhaps a premium drink selection(Mexican Soda's and Beers?). Then I would be returning to this location weekly, giving it 4/5. read more

Pretty decent serving sizes for a Taco Del Mar! The place is small but clean and brand-new with just a handful of tables. They are always so friendly here, albeit a little slow for a fast-food joint. I am sure they will be up to speed and fully-staffed soon, as more and more local residents and 405 commuters realize they are now open for business.
