I went for lunch the other day b/c I wanted to try more local Mexican food. I ordered the supreme burrito with carñe asada. I was a little confused if I was ordering it right. The lady at the window was super nice and corrected me accordingly. There was very little wait and I was able to get back to work fast. The burrito was great. I need to make adjustments the next time I go back but that's on me. The burrito was too big to finish in one meal. I like that! I also liked that they had drive up windows on both sides so if you have a passenger, they can handle the order if the regular side line is too long. Overall I was very happy with my expert here. I was craving a crunchy taco. That's all I got. It was a good price. The tortilla is probably fresh made and was crunchy, but a bit too thick for me. The meat tasted fine, but was a bit too chewy. I don't think this is a fair review, because they have a big menu. I'm sure there are wonderful items, but I probably won't be back. The service was very friendly, not the fastest. Alright y'all- last fall I had carne asada fries from the north location and was not impressed (seemed more like hamburger and salsa than authentic carne asada), so hadn't been back since. However, my friend insisted on me trying their breakfast burritos and I'm so glad I did!! The bacon burrito was $7 but they give you a solid amount of everything! I've picked up orders from this place while delivering for Doordash at least one or two dozen times, but never tried it myself. This morning I thought I'd give it a try for breakfast, since I had heard good things about their breakfast burritos. The drive thru line was long, but it moved quickly enough. I got the Super Breakfast Burrito for $7.99, with bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese. I also ordered a churro on the side for $1.99, since I thought the burrito would be reasonably large but not massive. I was wrong. The burrito I was handed was GIGANTIC, at least 10 inches long and absolutely packed with ingredients. They didnt skimp on anything at all. It was delicious, 10/10, especially with the green salsa added on, but almost certainly a caloric nightmare. However, that was balanced out by the fact that I didn't need to eat lunch that day since my breakfast was so filling. I had one bite of the churro and saved the rest for another time, and it tasted average but good. Overall, I highly recommend this little drive thru if you want huge, fat, uncompromisingly meaty and cheesy breakfast burritos for a decent price. read more

Ordered carne asada fries. Food was "ready" in 2 minutes or less which leads me to believe that it was sitting there forever and not made fresh or made too fast. My fries were not cooked all the way through and the meat was fatty and disgusting. I've ordered from here for years and this is hands down the worst I've gotten from you guys. I had a 9 minute drive to get here I (and everyone else) would appreciate fresh, thoroughly cooked food when they had a long long day and just wanna eat something good. Chorizo Breakfast burrito that we waited for 15 minutes for was terrible. Dry and hardly anything in it. Arrived early before opening. Gave the business 5 mins grace period to open. Actually saw the person go outside to their red truck and go inside and lock the door again. We checked the hours 3 times without acknowledgment. Finally knocked on that 3rd time. The guy said they don't open until 9 despite the sign saying 8. He said the door was unlocked and it was not. Then took our order for 1 crappy chorizo burrito more like a tortilla over anything. Should've been a free burrito at that point. Doesn't deserve a job. How hard is it to open a place on time? 8:17 is ridiculous. We have been on vacation for two weeks the food at Taco Express was the best meal we've had all vacation I had the taquitos came with guacamole and cheese on top they were crispy not soggy like at other places my husband had 2 carnitas tacos and a fish taco they came with pick de gallo and salsa he also said they were great. I ended up getting an extra order of the carnitas it was that good The staff works hard as I watched them. This is one of our favorite places for takeout Mexican food! Our family has tried almost everything on the menu over the past several years and absolutely love it all! We do have our constant favorites like the Ground Beef Hard Tacos, the Beef rolled tacos, Ground beef tostadas as well as the Bean Tostadas. And they also have the best (huge) breakfast burritos that come with Bacon but I add sausage as well and it makes it perfect. And, as I said, they're big and filling and go so well with either the green(my favorite) or the red sauce(my wife's favorite). I like the green as it's not as spicy but still has excellent flavor. In addition, the people that work there are the nicest and most helpful with answering questions about the menu and great guidance on what's best. It is a fast food takeout type place so it's better to take home or to the park and eat on a nice day. Cannot go wrong with this place! read more

First of all the prices were outrageous! $7.50 for a drive-thru burrito? But the real disappointment was that it was almost all potato. Just looks like your average taco shop when you drive by, but WOW. Best Mexican food stands in the springs. The give veryyyy generous portions for a very fair price. I love the mixed beef burrito or their(all day!!) breakfast burritos, especially the steak egg and cheese. Their burritos are pretty much all I get, although their carne asada fries are pretty amazing as well. The reason I gave them four stars in for their lack of super friendly staff lol, but also for how pricey any kind of sauce or add on is. Just sour cream will cost you about a $1. Hubby and I just didn't feel like cooking tonight. Taco Express is close, good and reasonable. The Carne Asada Chips with Guacamole is usually our go to dish for $6.99. They definitely don't skimp on this dish, great portions. We have also enjoyed the breakfast burritos and beef tacos. Be sure to get the red and green sauce though, as they are both delish. This is my go to place for tacos and breakfast burritos. I have been to two of the locations and both have provided great food. Obviously its just a small drive through so not much ambiance but I don't care much about that. The tacos are relatively large for street style ones and their rolled tacos are really good. I will say I can't comment much on their salsas/chilis as usually I don't feel I need to add it to my food. Even in a line the service has always been timely. It's perfect late at night (they are about the only thing still open at 1:30am), and the day after a long night of drinking... if you know what I mean. Overall, the food was so oily and messy. Expected from fast food, but not really. Tons of tex-mex, etc. that is delicious and not full of fat. I didn't like the flavors at all.
