I got the chicken enchilada with red sauce and I'm beyond impressed! My household makes our red sauce from scratch when doing homemade enchiladas and I haven't been able to find a place that can compete but this place knocks it out of the park! Took my MIL here when she visited. We all had super burritos. The staff were so friendly. They let me try my Spanish (I'm getting better..). They weren't super busy so it was nice to chat a bit. Our food was very good. I am originally from NorCal (I know, sorry) but haven't been back in 15 years. This food reminded me of the Mexican I'd get there. I added rice, beans and creama. The meat was so tasty. I got carne asada (steak for you gringos) and my wife and MIL got Carnitas (pork) my MIL was so happy with her food, I didn't have to listen to her talk for at least 30 minutes. The very first time I came all my orders were good. The crane asada fries were really good, the chimichanga was crispy, but I've been two times since and each time has gotten worse. I ordered a chimichanga today that wasn't crispy at all, the tacos were thrown together and cold, and I ordered a supreme burrito and maybe I didn't read it right but it comes with no meat. My gosh! This place is that little hole in the wall that everyone passes. Great service, food and drinks! We tried the carnita platter - nice serving!!!! Not a buncha fat pieces either. Rice and beans are good too! Chile Rellenos were good too, not greasy and cheesy was good quality didn't get hard after first cut. You gotta always eat them hot. I absolutely love Taco Express carne asada nachos (even better than the fries. I have ordered the carne asada fries or nachos from other restaurants but Taco Express is hands down the best. I can't BELIEVE how good their food is. I love the carnita tacos and get them almost everytime, but honestly their entire menu is delicious. Their tortas and burritos are to kill for, honestly. Its my go-to mexican place since it hits so close to el paso TX taco trucks haha. This is my go to for burritos! I usually get their breakfast burrito (bacon, egg, potato), or sometimes their Colorado burrito. They are among the best in town. Can't speak to the inside as I always use their drive thru, but service is usually very fast and always tastes great! I like both the red and green sauces. Prices are reasonable. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My son and I go to Taco Express off of Tutt at least twice a week and order the exact same thing every time.... But today when Esparanza took my order she tried to say there was no butter for my tortilla, which I know they have because I always order the same thing. She told me to go to the window with an attitude, so when i rolled up to the window, I had her repeat my order. I asked her why she was charging me $1.99 for butter for my tortilla when i have been coming here for over 2 years and they have NEVER charged me for butter... She told me in her EXACT WORDS, "WELL........I AM CHARGING YOU FOR BUTTER!" It took everything in my soul to remain calm and asked her to speak to the Manager. She closed the window and when she came back she told me she called her Manager and he said to charge me for butter. I asked for the Managers name, Mariano. As a Manager, I would expect him to listen to both sides of the story, so shame on him......I have done customer service for years and would never allow my workers to treat any customer like this.... especially over melted butter! If CUSTOMER SERVICE is important to you when deciding where to eat with your family......... I found the Carne asada tacos I have been searching for! I have not been able to find good steak tacos and I am so happy to find this place. The meat was surprisingly SO tasty and flavorful paired with onions, cilantro and lime wrapped up in two delicious corn tortillas (that are actually huge!) They are the real Mexican tacos That I crave!!! The only thing that wasn't amazing was the guacamole pretty salty and basic but the salsa verde is spicy and so good!!! They could possibly look into a new intercom because it's so hard to hear the worker on the other end to order but this is just a sidenote I'd like to point out. I've been looking for a good Colorado Style Breakfast Burrito (yeah, that's actually an official burrito style) in California and they are amazingly hard to come by. Usually when I get to Colorado I go straight to get a breakfast burrito, which is why I was delighted to find this new Taco Express open near my parent's house. This location is just as yummy as the Centennial location, but although they claim to be open 24 hours I don't think this location is. However, this location has a big inside dining area and it's very clean.
