Stopped in here before a movie last week because I was craving Mexican and this seemed like a good in and out kind of place. I was correct. Super fast and fairly priced. We got here at just the right time, it was empty but quickly filled up as we ate. My friend and I both got the fish taco and can I just say, oh-ehm-gee? So good. The fish was beautifully cooked and covered in fresh tomato, lettuce and a very savory sauce. I also had a chicken taco and it was so so. I will definitely come back and it will be for the gorgeous little fish taco. Yums. Only complaint was that we sat ourselves at the bar and there was only one server who was engrossed in conversation with two patrons and largely ignored us until I interrupted her after a few minutes of waiting. The service at the bar was terrible. I came in 20 minutes before closing and the lady at the main counter said we would still get service at the bar for food and drinks. I decided to sit and give it a try. I ordered a margarita without much sour mix and they bartender refused to make it because it was pre made. When I ordered food the bartender was rude and just wanted to go home. He did not give me any water i had to ask for it after getting my food. Taco Fiesta in Harbor East is a typical small quick-service Mexican restaurant. We ate here because they're one of the only places in Harbor East still open for a quick, affordable meal after classes get out at 9. His plate: nachos - chips with Monterey Jack cheese and topped with tomatoes, jalapenos, scallions, guacamole, sour cream Her plate: mole platter - chicken mole, rice, beans, flour tortillas, and guacamole D's nachos were good, and he especially liked how fresh everything was and that they allowed him to order them without beans. The mole platter was delicious - tender, juicy chicken with a good mole. I had initially questioned the inclusion of guacamole, but it was actually a nice bright contrast to how dark and spicy the mole was. We'll definitely be back - this was an excellent, very well priced meal, and it's odd that a few other places around here (that are reasonably priced) close earlier. read more

I walked in here on day just by luck and was very happy I did. It has everything you want from a Taco place: full bar, salsa bar, and an extensive selection of Mexican food and sides to accommodate any hunger need. I ordered the steak and fish tacos. Both were severed in warm corn tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The combination is great, fresh, light, rich and spicy all at once! It tries to be a more upscale chipotle restaurant but basically to me it's a decent mexican food option in the area but I'm not a fan of the prices. They have 2 floors and a nice bar with a couple tv's so it could be a good place to hang out. Burritos and alot of the options here are $9-10 so that's a negative for me. I really like their fish taco which has tilapia and fish sauce in it. Their salsa bar was just ok because most of the sauces I tried were just not either spicy or had enough flavor. I'm sitting at the bar, eating a fish taco, chicken taquitos and chips and salsa, sipping on a margarita, watching the Olympics and catching up with the best places in the neighborhood. It's not a bad life. It's more about the overall experience than the food. The owner Jerry is pretty cool, the bartender Al is fun, and the poor guys who were trying to clean up and go home at the end of the night while we were still hanging out were troopers. The prices are good, the food is decent and I like the salsa bar, especially the mango salsa. Quick, tasty Tex Mex. I love their salsa bar, which has at least 10 selections. Plenty of help yourself condiments including lemons and limes, cilantro and pickled onions, jalapenos and more. The guacamole is real, and tastes home made (almost as good as my own). The Fiestarita is delicious and I love that they have a large screen television upstairs. Very pleased with Taco Fiesta. They have full bar, a salsa "bar" and freshly made corn tortillas. They have an upstairs and downstairs as well as outdoor seating. It may get easily crowded however I did not check out the upstairs eating area. Taco Fiesta also has several large flat screen televisions which was a nice added touch. Menu is simple...burritos, tacos, enchiladas etc. Unfortunately no fajitas. I tried the chicken tacos with a small side of half beans/half rice. The taco was pretty simple but surprisingly quite filling. I topped it with several kinds of salsa...delish! The rice/beans were well seasoned. Only thing I wish was that they had crumbled a bit of cojita on top. Son had the chicken burrito and loved it! I will definitely be back...just hope I can find parking. read more

I like the location - the bustle of shoppers in Harbor East is nice. We like to sit outside because we can bring our dog (yup, another dog friendly place). Yelp- get the hint- let's create an option (under survey questions perhaps??) where one can state whether a place is dog friendly.... I'm just sayin'. Only 2-tops outside (and I think there are only like 4 of them) The drinks are good and you can't beat a strong margarita after a long week. The salsa bar is fun and always stocked with fresh and interesting salas to try. On Fridays, if you buy drinks, there is a free food buffet with pretty decent food- not great, but a pretty decent array of food that pair nicely with the drinks you are swilling down from a hard week at work. Great self-serve salsa bar and a good variety of agua fresca and horchata. The mango salsa is particularly spicy and good! I wish I could say the same about the food. Not only is it rather expensive, but the quality is extremely variable. Sometimes, the fish tacos taste amazingly fresh, flavorful, and delicious, but more commonly, they taste bland and stale. My favorite menu item, the chicken mole burrito ($9), can be filled with a impressive mixture of chicken mole, beans, and rice, but more often, it comes with less chicken than is worthwhile for $9. If you're not especially particular about the quality of the food, though, you might like the ambiance here. There is a fully-stocked bar as well as three widescreen TVs which are usually tuned into a sports channel. Come here if you're stuck in the Harbor East neighborhood and you're craving Americanized Mexican food, but if you're able to get around, grab some Mexican food in Highlandtown for a much more delicious, yet less expensive, meal. read more

This is the worst taco place I have been in my life! The meat was extremely insipid!! My burrito was a piled high of beans. I asked for double meat and when I bit onto it, it was double beans!! I must say though that the service was courtesous and they took care of such overload. Maybe due to their location but their food is over priced. Warning: Shrimp burritos to die for and highly addictive salsa. Taco Fiesta is another place that used to be in my hood that moved. [Weep, weep] We still make regular Fiesta runs, only now we eat there because a) That's a long way to drive with delicious smelling food in the car and b) The space is really nice. Look we drive all that way to eat here even though we aren't Charm City's biggest fans, the parking is a pain and there are a zillion burrito places nearby. 'Nuff said. My only issue arose on my last visit. That time I did get carry out for myself and some friends who were working at the convention center. I got four burritos. Dude at the register acted like I was trying to steal his testicles when I asked for two larger containers for the salsa. Eventually he gave in, but it was really a silly dispute. Here's why that happened though: Taco Fiesta salsa is slightly less addictive than nicotine. They have a variety of fresh salsas with different levels of heat. You can have fun trying different salsas on a burrito (it is big enough) just to see how it changes the taste. When they were in C.P. they regularly had to stop people from filling up huge containers of the stuff so they could take it home for mainlining. So apparently the salsa is still just as addictive. But if I'm holding four burritos, maybe exercise some judgement? read more

I work near this place and it's a shame because I love Mexican food but I don't even bother with this place anymore. I'd rather go the extra distance for Chipotle at the Harbor or support one of the local Mexican establishments (there are plenty to choose from). The happy hour food offerings aren't impressive but it is tolerable drunk food. Tip for Taco Fiesta- lower your menu prices by at least a buck and I may give you another shot. read more

I'm fairly glad I came here before I read the Yelp reviews, as a majority of them remarked on the authenticity of whether the food here is considered Mexican food. There are other options close by that offer 'authentic' mexican food nearby within walking distance (quotes around authentic because my knowledge on mexican cuisine was shattered when I found out taco bell was not it) - and I am not referring to taco bell this time. The food here is hit or miss. Sometimes they place to much salt on their tortilla chips. Sometimes there isn't enough sour cream. But they make up for this with their 'help yourself' stand filled with a variety of sauces and salsas. In addition, the staff here is friendly. read more

Dinner here is a treat. We escaped the rain and a longer rain-drenched walk to anywhere else and took a chance. SO GLAD we did! Margaritas on happy hour, a place for two at the bar, and an engaging bartend who patiently and expertly guided us to how the place operated. LOTS of salsa/sauce choices to try for chips/dips. I had the shrimp tacos (based on another yelp review; thank you!) and my companion had the burrito. All the sides, including guacamole- which is required- and it was fabulous. Pretty decent fast casual style Mexican food and good service. However, being a native of the Southwest, my standards are a bit high. We got a shrimp burrito, enchilada style. The enchilada sauce was definitely more flavorful and fresh than a canned enchilada sauce, but certainly not the best in town. The prices are reasonable. One of my office mates had a taco salad from here the other day, and it's been haunting me ever since I saw it. I ordered the mini version of the grilled steak taco salad (which is not at all mini by my standards). It's all you could want in a taco salad: flavorful, lean steak, rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, guac, sour cream... and an AWESOME tortilla bowl. I'm not talking a standard taco shell in the shape of a bowl.. this baby is beautiful and fried perfectly! Since all I had was the taco salad thus far, I can't comment on their other food, but I will say that spending $7 for lunch and drinking water to save a little bit of money is definitely doable. Some of the other items were a bit pricey but for the quality of food, I was really happy. I was also impressed with the salsa bar. I chose to get my food to go, and the service was quick, especially for noon. Will definitely return here to treat myself again! read more

A taste of Tex Mex for homesick Texans. The roasted pepper and tomatillo salsas were terrific! The rancheros sauce on the huevos rancheros is authentic and very good. Tacos first rate. The rice and pinto beans are good, not great. And they serve alcohol. But let me talk about the elotes, the ultimate Mexican street food. In Dallas there are almost no food trucks because the elotes ladies have snatched up all the permits. In Dallas, elotes are served with cut kernels in a Styrofoam cup smothered in butter, mayonnaise and creama topped with cojita cheese, lime juice and chile pepper. They serve the corn on the cob here but the taste is just right. Of course there is no comparison between the quality of corn available to Marylanders and Texans. The corn in Texas is just above cattle feed grade. A new favorite place for me. If you go, you must try the elotes! read more

We stopped here for a quick bite and it was really delicious! Though definitely overpriced... 1. Taco platter. $10. You get two tacos, rice, beans, sour cream, a spoonful of guacamole. Not worth the price in my opinion. The tacos were pretty small and there were only a few bites of meat. The rice was pretty tasty though and flavorful. 2. Burrito. $10. Definitely a better value. I got the steak and every bite was filled with juicy tender meat. The burrito was also filled with black beans and rice. I didn't choose the pinto beans, but I was told those are cooked in lard and fat (!!!) My burrito was so juicy that actual bean/meat liquid was gushing out from the bottom so make sure you eat it over a plate. 3. Chips and Guacamole. $6. Way overpriced. Probably on the same level as Chipotle. 4. Salsa bar! They have a section where you can pick your own salsa. They had a variety of different types- some spicy, mild, smoky. I recommend the mango salsa! Chunky, sweet, and so delicious. 5. Price: For our two meals, the chips and a soda, it was $28. OUCH. At Chipotle, we usually share one burrito bowl, get chips/guac, and a soda and its $12. The prices here are definitely ramped up because it's in that bougie harbor east neighborhood. Oh! I went out to lunch with a friend I used to teach with in Harbor East to a place called Taco Fiesta. I let her pick the place and her friend owns it. It advertises fast, fresh and fun Mexican food that comes from generations of passed down recipes from the owner's family. . It is set up food wise like a Chipotle or Qdoba but has a full bar. It offers things such as burrito, tacos, quesadillas, and many more. It has a bright and fun dcor and has a classic rock music playing. It has a salsa bar that has salsas that are made from scratch every morning. On the wall above the bar is a layout and explanation of each salsa. They also have a 26-ingredient Enchilada sauce that I would like to try. The guacamole and chips are also made fresh every day. They use no lards or oils when they make the beans every morning. The steak is lean and hand trimmed. The white chicken breast is lean and skinless. I got the Fiesta Meat burrito with rice, beans, Jack cheese, Fiesta Salsa, and roasted seasoned pork ($8.39). I then personalized it into a Chimichanga- they deep fry the burrito to a golden brown and serve it with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and sour cream (add $2.79). It was very good and the shell had a perfect crunchiness. The meat had a nice little spice to it and the beans and rice were perfectly cooked. We were there during lunchtime and it had a nice crowd. The also have tables to sit at outside. They have a full bar and offer many happy hour and daily specials (check the website). The food and atmosphere were both really good. Consistently great Tex-Mex! I love this place. The shrimp taco bowl is my favorite and go to dish. When I want a light snack; I get the rice & beans alone or with chips and guacamole. In addition, their salsa bar is fresh and delicious, although I think they started adding more spice to the mango salsa (now more medium-hot vs mild-medium). Other than these yummy staples on the menu, they have started to offer breakfast (served all day) burritos (with egg) on Sundays. I used to go for Friday happy hour which includes a free buffet (not the best, but it was free) with the purchase of two drinks. Not sure if they still do this. read more

Coming here for low-to-moderately priced almost-Mexican food is a pretty okay idea. That's the best way I can describe this place. The food was under seasoned but I expected that based on the decor and location, and the salsa/fixin's bar almost made up for the bland proteins. There were friendly staff working, and the highlight was that the margaritas and tequila shots were BOGO (Monday special from 5-10). I like margaritas, and they definitely didn't underperform in that area. The tequila wasn't that great but hey, it was cheap, I can't complain too much about the quality. I was there with a group of rowdy girls and they never shushed us or anything, and none of the guests seemed annoyed. The place has a good timey atmosphere. Equal parts retired heavy drinkers, aged out frat boys and tourists. you could do worse for sure. read more

I absolutely still love Taco Fiesta! The fish tacos are my favorite and are the top thing I order when I come. I have also had a steak taco, chicken bowl, and shrimp taco which were all amazing! Taco Fiesta guacamole is just pure amazing! And I love the salsa bar! On Mondays, they have 2 for 1 margaritas so that is pretty awesome for happy hour. The decor is comfortable and fun with seating upstairs. The staff is always very friendly and pleasant. Whenever, I'm in Baltimore I visit Taco Fiesta! read more

Very good Mexican food...all of our meals were stuffed with meats...everything tasted very fresh and you can tell that the meats haven't been sitting in a warmer all day...nice, friendly staff...the salsa bar is a great way to try their variety of salsas. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table. They were busy on a Saturday night and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant doesn't have the biggest footprint but the 2nd floor eating area adds a nice space to relax while you eat. read more

I had a tough time rating this place. It hurts to say this, but the the food is mediocre. On the flip side this can be a fun/lively place to go and the staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is cool and after feeling poor from going to Whole Paycheck next door and wondering if what you bought is really organic this is a good place to unwind. For the niche of deep fried lovers out there (the very few of you) - I had the deep fried cheesecake - try it once for the novelty, but don't try it twice. read more
