Worst restaurant EVER! It's too bad because the server was kind and worked so hard! One of our friends was upset that the drink order kept coming out wrong so he talked to the manager. I guess you're not allowed to complain because as we went to the bar to ask for another bottle of wine, we were told we wouldn't be served anymore and we were asked to leave. The bartender came to our table of 16 as we are still sitting there and he started removing everything from the table. How do you ask a big party to leave because of a complaint?? I am completely appalled at the customer service at this place. We were a large party from out of town that decided to go there to celebrate a special occasion. We ordered drinks and dinner. The drinks were served and were not the right order. We asked for a manager to tell them we did not receive the right order. The sequence of events that transpired after that was inconceivable. Our party of 18 was KICKED OUT of the restaurant before being served. Who does that?! Where is the customer service?! It was not the waitresses fault. Management hid behind the scenes. A staff member was sent to clean our table before we even left! What a terrible excuse of a restaurant. I'm sure the food is decent but I have never ever experienced anything like that in my life. Visited this place for the second time with my husband. We sat for almost 10 minutes before we were greeted at our table. We had a few questions about the menu which seemed to bother the server(who was also a bartender). He gave us water and told u he'd come back. After approximately 10 minutes he came back and took our drink orders. He then took another 10 minutes to come back for our food order. The food took so long to come out that my husband had to look for someone to find out where our food was. We both ordered Birria tacos. They were bland. The drinks were good. The service sucked. Seems like an average Mexican restaurant, location just makes it more desirable. The chimichanga style burrito was pretty gnarly.

Food was not good. Would not recommend. Margaritas weren't what we were hoping for either.

Was excited to try this place and figured as part of Big Fish group it would be great. Was very underwhelmed. Atmosphere was very nice and table out on patio was great. Salsa was very good. That's about where it stops. The chips brought out with the salsa were half crumbs/bottom of the bag. Menu was rather small; nothing exciting to choose from. Server brought water for all but one at our table. ??? Soda ordered hadn't been chilled ahead of time. Food was decent but not anything to get excited about. Waitress became very inattentive once we had our food. We were ready for her to take our check and she was off cleaning tables, and it was toward the end of the night so it wasn't busy with customers. Finally, the restaurant was blasting 90s rock music - and I mean blasting! - which seemed very out of place and ended up killing the atmosphere. Won't be in any hurry to go back. read more

Worst tasting food I had this year. I had the $18.00 birria tacos. Rice tasted like cardboard. Tacos barely had meat and the meat was bland. I order the $5.00 sweet plantains as well and it came with cheese on top of it? The water cups were dirty and service was slow. I went to taco grande on a Saturday at lunch with my mom and dog. Taco grande has 2 different out door seating areas, one covered and one completely open. My mom went into the resturant to ask the host for a table outside while me and the dog waited, the hosts said "we do not allow dogs unless it is a service dog". Every other resturant on the river front accepts dog outside. If they didn't have an outdoor area I would understand no dogs. However, there was no one else sitting outside at the time either..... I guess I will have to keep going to Del Pez on the river front for my Mexican food since they accept dogs outside! read more

I get it. They're new. Which is why they shouldn't be this bad. Now don't get me wrong, the food is great, for unauthentic Mexican, but it takes more than good food for a place to be at least decent. This was my second time here and I cannot tell you which visit was better because they both weren't great. Both times, we sat and waited to get greeted. Just as long as it took us for drinks it took us to get a food order in. It was a good 35 mins before anyone came back around to take our food order. Not only that but on this last visit, she obviously forgot to put in our food order. From the moment we sat, until we received our food, it took a total of an hour and 23mins. Not to mention they started shutting down the bar around us as we had just received our longly awaited meals. So not only was it a long wait, but then I'm having to smell hot dishwasher steam and bar trap juice, as I'm trying to quickly polish off my meal, that I feel rushed through, even though I purposely made sure we arrived 2 HOURS before closing time, just to avoid this very feeling. It was apparent we were forgotten about. It was apparent that we had to hurry up and eat so that their clocked out staff could have some fun. I've worked the service industry myself for years. It's pretty apparent what went on tonight and not for anything, just because these owners have multiple properties doesn't mean they shouldn't have standards. It's apparent their bar staff has no idea what they're doing. The fact that you have three bartenders on and all of them are too worried about service tickets and not one worried about taking care of the bar... no Bueno. I much rather go to Mr.Taco, grab take out, go next door get a bottle of tequila and head home. Saves me not just money, but the annoyance. read more

I should have known that this place wouldn't be worth going to. The food is not great. I had the fajitas and the seasoning wasn't normal or good and they came with 3 tiny (the size of my palm) which isn't enough but to get another one you have to buy 3 more. I think it is bad business to charge for more tortillas especially when you don't give enough. The salsa and the chips are usually an indication of how the rest of the food is and they were not good (salsa ). The service was good but it was pretty empty at lunch and the decor inside was pretty cool. Great chandlers. read more

I heard of this new taco place and have been DYING to try it. I called up yesterday for some much needed take out after a long exhausting weekend and was told "we don't do takeout". I've worked in restaurants before and that surprised me. It's similar to people who go dine in and don't finish their food and have to bring it home. How is it they could not take a to go order that definitely would've been $50 at least so I can have a nice quiet dinner in after a long weekend. This definitely soiled the restaurant for me, Poor customer service & it's a new restaurant. The hostess also had hung up on me when i said that was unheard of. Definitely was looking forward to eating here, but that was diminished very quickly. read more

I hesitated to give this place a 3. I strongly considered giving it 2 stars. The food was not great at all. The guacamole had so much Lemon in it that it was hard to eat. The queso reminded me of melted velveta and the salsa was watery and thin. I had the shrimp quesadilla and it was just ok. Nothing comes with it. No beans or rice. Everything is overpriced. My husband ordered a chicken burrito and got beef instead and it wasn't very hot. The Margarita's were very weak. Service was ok. We won't be back. The food was amazing, taste, presentation. The personnel beginning with the hostess stand needs to be more friendly and smile, they were totally dry and not even a welcoming smile; our server Angela at the first encounter wasn't too friendly but she warned a while after we were in the restaurant; the assistant manager a complete different, he came to greet my husband when he find out we were military, he spoke a while wit. I've only sat at the bar, so I can only speak to the bartenders' service. I've gone several times now and every time I've gone, I've been able to get seated quickly at the bar. Obviously since they just opened, they're still working out some kinks, but the food and drinks are solid. I've yet to order something that wasn't delicious. I am obsessed with the brussels sprouts (and I'm not even vegetarian). The fajitas are superb as well (warning: the blackened chicken does pack some heat). My go to drink is the Fuego Verde. It's not "authentic Mexican" but it doesn't ever say that it's trying to be that. It's delicious regardless and is becoming my new go to place read more

Happy to see a new restaurant fill the vacancy left by Joe's Crab Shack. The inside and outside decorations of the building are great. And the outside bar utilizing an old shipping container is a great idea. The outdoor bar seating is a very nice touch. Service was also very good. The house margarita is okay for $8. The Primo margarita, which can only be ordered inside, for $14 is much better. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were good, but the rice and black beans lacked flavor. Arrival to the door, the hostess never make eye contact, speak with each other under their breath, when 3 of them decide where to sit you, mean while not speaking to the guest. We waited for about an hour this was on a Friday at 7:00 pm for 2 people so very much anticipated and with the riverfront being right there it's not a bad wait at all. The food was absolutely amazing. We got the Mexican corn, amazing! And the enchiladas and a burrito (both chicken). Our food arrived very fast to the table we did not have to wait long at all. The burrito was out of this world melts in your mouth basically. The service was phenomenal our waitress, Angelica was always attentive and super nice. I highly recommend this place. I got a house margarita and I would say it was good, not excellent. I wish their outside area was a bit bigger, but they are new, so I get room for improvements. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I decided to dine here because everyone had been posting about how good it was and how great their experience was. It took almost 15 minutes for our server to greet us after we had 3 different employees apologize for the wait and that someone will be right with us. Then when he finally got greeted we weren't even asked how we were doing, word for word it was "so what are we doing? Getting drinks or food?" Not really how I expect to be greeted after waiting 15 minutes to put in my drink order. Once we were greeted we felt like we were rushed by the server. Once we got our drinks they were just dropped off with a I'll be back to get your order even though we had questions about the menu. We finally placed our order and once the food came out we were missing a taco which I had a feeling was going to happen since the order was never written down. Also the al pastor taco was missing the pineapple salsa so all it was was pork. Worst of all my girlfriend's tacos were cold and we were given corn tortillas when we specifically asked for flour. After waiting for another 15 minutes after finishing we asked for the check and told them that we wanted to make sure the spicy beef tacos weren't on the check since we never received them and there was no apology or anything. It was a pretty disappointing experience when I've heard nothing but good things before going there. This is my third visit here. Visit 1 was so bad we didn't even have to complain. The manager came to our table and compted our meal. Then gave us a gift card to return. Visit 2 was good at least the alcohol was. The meals were slow to come out but our server was so nice about everything. Food was good. That's why we returned tonight. Visit 3 was horrible. Service was good but my drink was incorrect and had too much cinnamon. Nachos were not the same as we had previously had and just yuck. My husband found the wings too spicy. Like most places, this restaurant seemed understaffed. Food took a long time to arrive and our drinks didn't come till we were about done with our meals. The waitress didn't seem focused and another staffer was loudly chopping onions right behind our table. The place was nearly empty and they could have seated us anywhere! The grandkids got restless -- too bad as the most likely audience here is from the Children's Museum next door. Food was tasty when it came. read more
