My son and I walked in and went straight to a table. I was under the assumption we would receive menus but we were told to order at the front counter as soon as you walk through the second doors entrance. Then you can sit to eat or order to go. The food was piping hot, and fresh. The chef calls your order out loud and you walk up to the window to pick it up. It was quiet the day we went but tvs were on and most of the seating is those old large booths.

Ever since I moved from San Diego a few months ago I have longed for a good California Burrito. I debated on if I should share this review since SD is debatably the best place in America for you to get Mexican food so we obviously have high standards, but ultimately decided to because as I waited for our food, two others waiting as well said they came from SD too, and thought this place was "as good as you can get for here (in the DMV)". The place seems authentic and the decor of the restaurant reflects that. It's a bit dark but I liked being able to watch them cook the food, and to know that what I'm getting is fresh. Now for the *meat* of the review: upon first bite, I was so happy to taste the freshness of the cilantro, guacamole, and salsa verde, but by the time I got to the steak, it tasted a little off? It may be in the quality of the steak - I really don't know. To add - there wasn't much, and it wasn't evenly spread through the burrito so while one side felt like it got a lot of love, the other was just vegetables and onions, with a little bit of the fries. I just can't bring myself to finish this burrito and I've only had half of one. I had high hopes but will have to continue my quest.

Came across this place as I was driving down Richmond highway. I'm a sucker for a good taco spot. They have a bunch of other items aside from tacos, but for a first time visit, I went with the tacos. Place appears to be very authentic, with its decor and overall vibe. Nothing fancy, but in my opinion those are often the best spots. They have 3 options for your style of taco. I went with the first option; which is corn tortilla, onions, cilantro, and went with my 3 go-to meat options (carne asada, chorizo, carnitas). I also added a side of the rice and beans. Total order was $16. Tacos were $3 a piece and rice and beans I believe were around $3. Not bad in my opinion. Food was done pretty quickly. Waited for less than 10 mins. Got home and was excited to dig in. I was not mad at all at the quality and authenticity of the food. The chorizo was my favorite followed by the carne asada. Both were well seasoned without being overly salty. The chorizo as expected was greasy. I was ok with that! The carne, which can sometimes be tough was nice and tender. The carnitas was my least favorite and will likely stay away from that one next time. Meat was dry and not very enjoyable. The tacos come with radishes, carrots, as well as one green and red sauce. I asked for a second red sauce, since 2 is just never enough. The red was nice and spicy, green was more of a mild sauce. Rice and beans were a great addition. Yellow rice and refried beans with cheese. Whoa!! Def more food than I could handle, but I had to go all in. Super excited to go back again. Great hidden gem.

The food is here is what you expect from an authentic Mexican place. Which is... very good and full of flavor. Although Lengua taco I had wasn't my favorite I still chowed it down with no problems. I especially loved the fact that they give you a generous side plate with the toppings to add. Most places only give you a little. Reasonably priced as well.

I was in search of an authentic Mexican restaurant that made good Tortas. Taco Jalisco caught my eye. I checked the reviews on Yelp and decided to give them a try. When I arrived I noticed that the parking spaces were very tiny but there was plenty of parking. When you first walk in there a counter where you can order. I was greeted immediately. They do have Apple Pay,which is a plus! The young lady took my order and I waited near the door. They do have a waiting area in the entrance of the restaurant, but I decided to just stand inside. The ambiance was what to be expected. Plenty of seating, and very clean. When my order was ready, the cook just yelled "Torta" from the back. I didn't realize he was telling me my order until I looked back. I decided to eat in the car. The sandwich was a 6 out of 10. It was lacking a little flavor and I'm used to the white cheese. This came with a shredded blend. The 2 sauces it came with helped. Overall, I would give them another try to taste other menu items.

I ordered 3 tostadas with lengua, asada and carnitas respectively. I love how tender the lengua is, and the carnitas is so delicious. I've been to places that give you really fatty pieces. The carnitas here is meaty, fresh and flavorful. The asada was good too, but personally I liked the carnitas the most. I think the salsa could be more flavorful, and heads up the red salsa is pretty spicy but not with much flavor. Price is reasonable and the place is pretty spacious, I'll definitely be back!

I really loved this place the first time I visited. Unfortunately the second time was not good. I ordered the quesadilla de birria and the torta cubana. The quesadilla had a yellow cheese in it; I think some sort of cheddar. Traditionally a quesadilla should use a queso Oaxaca. The torta cubana did not have a milanesa or jalapeño at all. My partner ordered the polzole which seems to have made him a bit ill through the evening. I truly enjoyed my first visit, but unfortunately the second one was so terrible that I don't think I'll be returning.

    Gucamole Chips and Guacamole

This is the guacamole, mostly onions and tomatoes and no avocados. Orders the tacos too, and the meat tasted stale. I will not be coming back here.

Taco Jalisco is located in a little shopping area with a bunch of different businesses. The parking lot can get full at times but I came right at 11am since I was starving and craving Mexican food. Upon entering I was greeted and the lady explained to me that you order your food first then sit down, then the food will be brought to your table. After taking my time looking at the menu I decided on getting Pozole and Desayunos Mexicanos. Like I said I was starvin like Marvin! Pozole- This dish was perfect for the chilly weather today! Its a traditional dish made with pork and seasoned with chili peppers which gives it that red soup base. The pork was nice and tender and the soup was good. I just wish I had some avocados inside or on the side for the soup. Desayunos Mexicano- This is a breakfast platter that has 2 eggs, re-fried bean, Mexican rice and chilaquiles. The chilaquiles with the cheese were so yummy! The eggs with the Mexican rice and re-fried beans were amazing together. Who would've thought this would be a great breakfast? This place is a winner in my book and it's close for Fort Belvoir so they do give military discount. WINNING! All in all, this place serves amazing good and its priced very well. Give it a try!

We tried Taco Jalisco a while ago and absolutely loved it, tried their catering at a friend's event (pre-pandemic) and it was fantastic, and had it again today and it was just as good as I remembered it to be. Husband is from southern CA so we have tried a lot of great tacos and burritos. We haven't been able to find a lot of similar places in the NOVA area, but Taco Jalisco is definitely the closest to what we crave from CA. Everything is always fresh and flavorful. We previously tried their other meats like lengua and have loved it! The tacos have a good portion of meat in them but need a little sauce cause it can get dry with multiple big bites (may or may not be speaking from personal experience). The green sauce is solid, red has a kick. Definitely call in to order, otherwise there may be a wait. There are always people here when we go but it's poppin' for a reason!

We arrived at 4:03 p.m. and left by 4:46 p.m. Our plan was to relax at the bar, enjoy happy hour margaritas, have appetizers, then dinner while watching the soccer match--a leisurely vacation evening. The hospitality, unfortunately, was lacking. Although our bartender wasn't rude, she seemed to be in a constant rush to get us to order, despite the restaurant being relatively quiet with only a few tables occupied. We even mentioned that we were hoping to enjoy a slow, relaxing evening, but we still felt hurried throughout our visit. The happy hour margaritas were very lime-forward with very little tequila. We switched to a regular menu margarita ("The Perfect"), but even that tasted weaker than expected. As tequila fans, we were disappointed. We also found the food to be far from authentic Tex-Mex. Having lived in San Antonio, I realize that's a high standard, but this didn't come close to what we expected. In the end, we asked for our food to go and left. We found another restaurant where we could relax and enjoy the kind of hospitality we had been looking for. I don't enjoy leaving critical reviews, but this was a disappointing experience, and unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

The accompanying salsa was tasty. We also liked the queso dip that we ordered as a side. JP ordered the attractively presented breakfast burrito and found it to be very good. The rest of us ordered the ground beef enchiladas. They come with Mexican rice and refried black beans. I thought the enchiladas were good but really needed substantially more cheese and red sauce because they were kinda dry. But there was a question about the preparation of the margaritas. JP requested his first margarita be agave free (i.e. not sweet). It turned out great. But when JP and our friend ordered another round, the second round was yellowish orange instead of green, and they were sweet. Our server insisted the margaritas were made the same way the second time. She did agree to have them re-made, but the remade ones were identical to the ones that we sent back. Since I don't drink margaritas and don't have a vested interest in that aspect of Tacos and Tequila, I'd like to come back to further explore their menu.

We were greeted and seated immediately when we arrived. There were maybe 3 or 4 tables total occupied during our visit so not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. There is outdoor seating as well. Our server, who was very friendly, hyped the premium margarita so we gave in and said yes. We also tried the passionfruit margarita. The premium was strong but that's probably what you're going for anyway The passionfruit margarita was delicious but not strong at all. We tried the chips and dip and the Platanos Fritos (plantains with sour cream) to start. Chips were fresh and hot. Salsa was a bit creamy. Never had it like this before but the taste was pretty good. Plantains were perfect! While we didn't order the Guac ( Guacamole Molcajete) , it was brought to our table. We found it to be on the bland side with no hints of cilantro, onion, lime or salt. We saw a few bits of tomato but it tasted just like a plain smashed avocado. Not something we would order again. We decided to try all the street tacos except the vegetarian so we could taste everything. Steak, chicken, fish, shrimp, ground beef, pork (al pastor), carnitas. We also got the 3 street taco platter that came with the Mexican rice and beans. We found the shrimp and fish tacos to be lacking in the quantity of meat. But they were flavorful. The chicken, while plentiful, was dry even with the sauce. The steak, al pastor and carnitas were all packed with meat and delicious but both our Al Pastor tacos were missing the pineapple. The ground beef was my personal favorite but was very greasy. The Mexican rice and pinto beans....Both were just ok. Overall, food was ok we were expecting a bit more flavor. Service was great. Pricing was a bit higher than what we usually pay for a similar order.
