Sometimes you find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that's incredible...this wasn't it unfortunately. The food was mehh, service was fine. Don't need to go back when there are so many other good Mexican options in the area.

The place was spacious and can cater big groups. They have bar area and indoor seatings available. But apparently they also have an outdoor which I didn't see at the time we visited. The staff were fast and accommodate us immediately. Got us a seat as soon as we enter the restaurant. We went here on a weekday night so this probably why not too busy. All of the food and drinks we ordered hit the spot like we are in Texas again. Food was good and will surely come back again.

Absolutely amazing. Stopped in for lunch with a coworker, our 1st time here. We were kinda worried when we arrived to an empty place but we ordered. Food was fast to come out a was amazing. I had a shrimp and steak combo. By far the best steak I've ever had at a Mexican place. 10/10, will be back!

We've been to Dos Jefes (2 Chiefs) three times. It's like a bar and grill with lots of TV screens. There's a deck out back too. Last night they were playing Carribbean music at a good volume. Service is consistently very good, including nice touches like sweeping crumbs off your table and promptly taking away used dishes between courses. Dos Jefes's exterior sign indicates the cuisine is Tex-Mex. No, it isn't really; it's Salvadorean. Unfortunately, prices are very high. For example, the Azteca steak (carne asada) is over $27 (not $25.95 as shown on the website menu). Three tacos are gonna be over $15. The one dish I can recommend is the birria beef tacos. These are deep fried and served with some kind of thin red sauce (not consommé as the menu advertises). They have a good flavor and lots of meat. The Chile Con Queso is a Velveeta-like cheese sauce with bits of red pepper. It has a good flavor, but last night the tortilla chips accompanying the queso dip were somewhat burnt. The Ground Beef Enchiladas with red sauce come with Mexican rice and refried beans. The enchiladas are not bad at all even though they have very little red sauce. The rice, with bits of vegetables like scallion, peas and corn, is just so-so. The refried beans were excessively salty and inedible. The horchata was definitely not Mexican horchata. It was curiously dark and tasted like peanut butter.

A whole in the wall joint you have to try at least once. We came in right when they opened and sat at the bar. We only ordered margaritas and guacamole. The area is a little sketchy but we decided to still give it a try to say we did on our self created bar crawl for Sunday football in Alexandria. My mango margarita was great!! I wouldn't steer you wrong on this. The guacamole was excellent!! We ended up getting 2 orders...Medium spicy. We decided to head to another place to get wings but I'm glad we tried it and the bar tender was attentive and friendly. He even changed the tv to our preferred game.

Love the food at this neighborhood restaurant. I recommend this place to everyone. Good service and a nice atmosphere and they have a back patio for outdoor dining. Happy Hour is 3-7 M-F and they have all day Happy Hour on Mondays & Wednesdays. Don't park in the pizza place parking lot next door, they will tow you.

Service was decent . Food was also decent. We went twice and both times had bad stomach issues after. So can't recommend. Prices weren't bad. Drinks were pretty good also.

I came here for lunch with some friends because I love. Tex-mex and wanted a margarita. The restaurant is located within a small strip of a few other businesses, however the parking lot is divided by poles, so you'll want to be sure you enter the lot on the same side as the restaurant. When we got there it was pretty quiet which was fine by me. The waiters were very attentive and nice. I started with a passion fruit margarita which was really good. One of my friends got a bloody Mary with tequila but didn't like it, take that for what it's worth since she didn't get it with vodka. Chips and salsa come with the table which is nice. My friend ordered queso and chips, I wasn't a fan of the queso, you can probably skip it too. I ordered the lunch tacos carbon with steak. The tacos were really good! The steak was juicy, tender and flavorful. My friends enjoyed their meals as well and had positive reviews. Overall I would definitely come back for more margaritas and the food, just not the queso. Salud!

I visited 2 Jefes on a late night and it was as a good experience. I had the sangria margarita and the chicken quesadilla. I will definitely be back because the food was delicious! The service was quick mainly because we were the only ones in there lol.

I'm constantly seeking out great Tex-Mex. My cravings for nachos, enchiladas, tamales, and queso runs deep. While I was delighted to find 2 Jefes, I wasn't 2 thrilled with the food. The chicken burrito was just OK, nothing too exciting. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I was also disappointed that they were out of the draught beer I ordered. Prices seem to be average. Service and atmosphere was good. Plenty of parking in front. My next visit might be to check out their happy hour!

Came here with friends and solo on Taco Tuesday, which is a good deal. Service at the table was a little slow, understaffed, but didn't have any issue at the bar. The place is what you might expect from a tex-mex place. The parking lot is small for the number of businesses here, so don't make the mistake of parking next door at Old Chicago, but you can park across the street.

He was in the mood for Lahmacun (sounds like Lahamajoun) super thin, crispy pizza topped with a mixture of minced meat with peppers, tomato, herbs, and spices. More fine, light, and delicate than the typical American thin pizza. The service, drinks, and food were beyond stellar in Narman. We felt like the only customers there and were waited on by many staff. The highlight of the day there was their pizza and their beverage presentation and flavors. We came on a weekday night and were the only people there in the end. My husband was impressed at how upscale the restaurant was and it was the finest Turkish restaurant he ever visited. He said it was similar to the hotel dining place he lived at in Turkey. This was our first restaurant in downtown Alexandria and one of our best experiences in Alexandria. The Lahmacun was the finest Turkish pizza my husband ever had. He ordered three of them! Each pizza was served on a large wood board with extra toppings on the side like lemon wedges, cilantro, and onions. They are so fine and thin that you can roll them up to eat. We had to put some of the last pizza aside for take out. I ate the takeout piece and was very impressed how delicious it was after being in the fridge overnight & re-heated. I loved the flavors of the Lahmacun and I don't even care for pizza that much. It is my most preferred pizza in my life ever next to the Crazy Ex in The Thirsty Goat in Clarksville, Tennessee. I ordered a Turkish dish with a rich and ancient history, Hunkar Begendi, or "Sultan's Delight." It dates back several centuries, and it was prepared for the sultans and high-ranking officials, and was served during special occasions and celebrations. The Hunkar Begendi had lamb and velvet soft eggplant with spices. I ordered it with a side of rice. It was very delicious and unique. Yet the Lahmacun despite its simplicity stole the show and cost 1/3 of the price of the Hunkar Begendi. For my beverage, I ordered The Elma. It has a stunning presentation in a smoke filled glass box. The Elma is a beverage with Bourbon, Peach liquor, vanilla maple, Apple butter,Lemon juice, and Apple cider. You have to watch the videos of how it is presented at the table. At the end of our dinner, they played happy birthday and surprised my husband with an ice cream and pumpkin dessert with a candle. So wonderful & heartfelt. It was a fascinating and flavorful dish. The pumpkin tasted like sweet potato & was different. This is a must see place for Turkish cuisine and the finest restaurant service. Prices are low to fair for such high quality food and service. Five Stars.

When we arrived, the place was busy with people waiting, and we were quoted a 40-minute wait. We decided to walk back to our car, which was about two blocks away, but before we could even get settled, we received a text that our table was ready. From the time we got back to the car, it was maybe five minutes. So despite the crowd, there really wasn't much of a wait at all. The hostess was no-nonsense but friendly, which I appreciated. Every staff member we saw coming in and out with food seemed pleasant and welcoming. There was both indoor and outdoor seating available, and since we chose first available, we ended up outside. The weather was beautiful, and it turned out to be the perfect spot. The menu made choosing difficult--in the best way possible. I always love when a restaurant has multiple dishes I want to try. We considered ordering more because we've done that before at places we really enjoy, but we knew we'd be doing a lot of walking afterward, so we showed some restraint. We started with the Scotch eggs, and let me just say: 10 out of 10. They were absolutely fantastic and ended up being one of my favorite things we ate all day. My husband ordered the cornmeal pancakes with mole syrup and a breakfast biscuit sandwich, devoured. I went with the classic breakfast--eggs over medium, bacon, home fries, and coffee. Everything was delicious. The bacon was another standout--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Honestly, every bite was good. We left full, happy, and already talking about what we'll order next time. The server was awesome, the food was memorable, and the entire experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Final Verdict: 5/5 Stars The Scotch eggs alone are worth the trip, but the combination of great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere makes this a place we'll definitely be returning to.

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!
