Malísimo Servicio... POOR Customer Service. This place is getting 1 star for one type of pupusa that was really good and for plate presentation. Other than that, the service was HORRIBLE for an empty place at mid day on a Monday. Entered establishment, was not acknowledged even when from a distance within the restaurant a server could see me, she didn't care and kept on assembling the silverware in napkins while looking at her phone. A few delivery drivers showed up for pick up and we all waited in the entrance for at least 5 mins for someone to come to greet us. When the attendant came to door way entry, even when I was standing in front, she spoke directly in Spanish to the drivers behind, I guess she didn't think I spoke Spanish. Well, in Spanish I ask to be seated to which she waived me to go sit anywhere, fine, I sat. This same person passed next to me twice with out giving me a menu or speaking so I waved her down and she looked impressed, like if it wasn't her job to tend to my table/order. I ask for a juice and a menu, her response, give me a few minutes I'll be right back. Well, she went to seat a "good looking" guy that came in and IMMEDIATELY took his order, no delay on that. So I once again ask for the menu, she brings it and by then I knew what I wanted as it's not hard to go to a pupusa place and not order pupusas. I requested the revuelta, 2 chicharrón con queso and a shrimp one. But I also asked about the way they do their fried pork with yuca, she explained and I requested that they do not cook my pork bites too much which makes them dry. She walks away with my order. 15 mins later, she brings my yuca con pork bites which were extremely toasted and dry. I let her know but she just walked away, however I have no utensils at the table, I wave her back but she looks bothered. I try to dive into the food but it's flavorless and dry, I placed to the side while waiting the pupusas. A friend joined me, ordered the steak plate, his meat was over cooked and bland, I still wait for pupusas and make her aware. Happens that she did not put in my original order so I request that she packs them to go. I asked for the check, that took some time to arrive. When paying, I let her know about all the ways she messed up the service, she rolled her eyes and just left. I get home to find that 2 of the 4 pupusas were not the right ones. How much more annoying could this experience be?! All in all, while at establishment I felt some sort of discrimination and unwelcoming behavior. Not a place I recommend when there's a host of other great Salvadorian restaurants in the area.

would be great without the raw onions.

OMFG!! how hard is it to follow instructions... I even wrote in spanish!!! More like La Pupusa Retardo. Again, with the onions. I left a message via Grub Hub. IT'S EVEN ON THE RECEIPT!!!!!!!. I've ordered via grub hub MANY times. out of maybe 10 orders I had 3 orders that arrived as requested. NO. ONIONS. Is it really that hard to not put the raw ugly onions these tiny tacos?!?!?!? it's a shame because their food is decent. Done with them.

This place is 10 out 10, the pupusas are freshly made and delicious and their curtido is to die for.

Let me just say -- WOW AMAZING. Todo quedó perfecto!! I ordered cheese pupusa, cheese and frijoles pupusa, tamal de elote-- they did not disappoint. I love how everything tasted fresh, and so flavorful. I was so skeptical ordering on door dash, I came to yelp and didn't find any reviews--Google reviews were decent but I wanted to try anyways. So glad I did!! The size of the pupusas were perfect too and I can appreciate the cheese being an easy pull unlike some places it just gives a chewy texture. I will be ordering from the again and plan to visit in person

Pupusa Familiar is a must-try. Pupusa the size of a pizza. Restaurant is much less crowded/busy than the Herndon location. Baleadas are also super tasty (and well-priced)

    Pupusa chicharrón y queso

Great pupusas! Lots of filling and priced very reasonably. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

My friend chose Don Taco because it's one of his favorite spots, and he kept raving about how great the tacos were. And because really, you can't go wrong with chips, salsa, and drinks for a quick happy hour. The salsa which is not pictured had a great smoky kick, the tacos were very flavorful, fresh and hot. The host and waitress were very sweet, kind and attentive. The atmosphere was pretty cool, nothing to complain about. A lot of space, we sat upstairs which I enjoyed. We had the entire upstairs area to ourselves, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, and I loved the mini fans placed throughout the space--perfect if you're feeling a little too warm or have enjoyed a few drinks! As for the service, it was a bit hit-or-miss. The young lady who took our orders was pleasant, but it took quite a while for drinks to come out. There were also several missing items from people's orders, which caused some frustration since those items had been ordered well in advance. Now, onto the food--the real star of the experience! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and had great things to say. I ordered a salmon taco, which I actually saved and ate the next day for lunch, and it was still delicious. The queso, however, wasn't a favorite among our group. On the other hand, the chips and salsa were a hit. The mocktails were excellent, and everyone seemed to enjoy their cocktails as well. Despite a few service hiccups, the food, drinks, and atmosphere made for a great experience. I would definitely visit again.

The protein in the taco is well made and tender and comes on a single flour tortilla and a sauce and some veggies. It is missing the double corn tortilla, Cilantro and and sautéed onions I associate with a authentic Mexican street taco but still is very tasty just the same and definately not one of the Americanized abominations you see at so many restaurants (: . Chips and Salsa were quite good as well and they make a nice house Margarita that was reasonably priced (Thank you Happy Hour!) that is well made with a good 100% Blue Agave tequila. To be honest with you the Margarita's and Happy hour pricing is what brought us to this restaurant and we were definately not disappointed. the restaurant itself has a nice industrial vibe to it and does not have the colorful Mexican decor many of the restaurants do that I am used to in Michigan. Having said that it is still a very casual and comfortable environment that definately adds to the overall dining experience. Staff was quite friendly with good follow up and definately a strength of the business. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience with their own unique spin on what they call a street taco. Good food, Reasonable prices and good margaritas are hard to beat making this an excellent dining spot if Mexican food is your thing.

The accompanying salsa was tasty. We also liked the queso dip that we ordered as a side. JP ordered the attractively presented breakfast burrito and found it to be very good. The rest of us ordered the ground beef enchiladas. They come with Mexican rice and refried black beans. I thought the enchiladas were good but really needed substantially more cheese and red sauce because they were kinda dry. But there was a question about the preparation of the margaritas. JP requested his first margarita be agave free (i.e. not sweet). It turned out great. But when JP and our friend ordered another round, the second round was yellowish orange instead of green, and they were sweet. Our server insisted the margaritas were made the same way the second time. She did agree to have them re-made, but the remade ones were identical to the ones that we sent back. Since I don't drink margaritas and don't have a vested interest in that aspect of Tacos and Tequila, I'd like to come back to further explore their menu.

We arrived at 4:03 p.m. and left by 4:46 p.m. Our plan was to relax at the bar, enjoy happy hour margaritas, have appetizers, then dinner while watching the soccer match--a leisurely vacation evening. The hospitality, unfortunately, was lacking. Although our bartender wasn't rude, she seemed to be in a constant rush to get us to order, despite the restaurant being relatively quiet with only a few tables occupied. We even mentioned that we were hoping to enjoy a slow, relaxing evening, but we still felt hurried throughout our visit. The happy hour margaritas were very lime-forward with very little tequila. We switched to a regular menu margarita ("The Perfect"), but even that tasted weaker than expected. As tequila fans, we were disappointed. We also found the food to be far from authentic Tex-Mex. Having lived in San Antonio, I realize that's a high standard, but this didn't come close to what we expected. In the end, we asked for our food to go and left. We found another restaurant where we could relax and enjoy the kind of hospitality we had been looking for. I don't enjoy leaving critical reviews, but this was a disappointing experience, and unfortunately, I can't recommend it.
