Love this place .. food is fresh and great .. I believe it's better than the Massapequa one

Girl behind the counter was talking loudly in Spanish to a coworker across the restaurant the entire time she was taking my order. Sitting down with my burrito I noticed there was no music playing which isn't exactly bad but it made it harder to ignore the loud banging going on in the kitchen. A couple bites into my burrito it completely fell apart which was annoying. Maybe if the worker had been focused on her job instead of her conversation (which continued loudly the entire time I was seated) the burrito would have remained intact. We live closeby and have been waiting for this location to open for some time. We finally gave it a try last night, getting take out, and it just didn't live up to the hype. We got the following: Blue Tahoe Fish tacos - They didn't come out the way they were described on the menu. No pico, no dressing, lettuce instead of cabbage... The hard shell was stale and the fish dry/overcooked. Angel Peak Nachos - we asked for jalapenos, didn't get any. Half Moon BBQ Quesadilla - overstuffed and overall decent, too filling for one person to finish in one sitting. Before you think that getting take out was the reason for my stale fish tacos, we live not even 2 mins down the road, and Green Cactus' fish tacos are never stale by the time I bring them home to eat. Taco Joe's fish was fried long before it was ordered and likely just sitting and waiting to be put into a taco. I would rather drive down to Taco Bell or Chipotle than getting Taco Joe's again. read more

Yuck! Skip this place and go to Taco Bell, Chipotle, or Moe's, at least you'll be satisfied. Went to this location yesterday and it smelled like a moldy mop as soon as I walked in. The air conditioner wasn't on or maybe not working properly so while waiting to order it was extremely hot and stuffy. The workers DO NOT listen to what you want and even if you order off the menu by the name of the product they still have no idea what they are making. We ordered 2 quesadillas one with just cheese, beans and guacamole, and one with steak and the works(cheese, guac, sour cream etc..). While we were checking out we ended up with 3 quesadillas and the workers just as confused as we were. It wasn't busy enough for them to mess this up. The real kicker was the manager asked us to PAY for the 3rd one (a chicken quesadilla) even though we didn't order it. Horrible! The quesadillas were sloppily made, and over stuffed, then they pile the food on top of eachother so you can't even separate it. They fell apart from being soggy. Why was it soggy? Because they fill their guacamole with water to make it stretch and charge you extra for it as if it's fresh. The food was bland and disgusting. I wouldn't eat here again even if they were giving food away for free. You'll have better luck at pretty much any other Mexican food establishment! Sorry, not sure what all the hype was about. I have visited this spot pretty frequently and overall it's not a bad restaurant. Good food, large portions and relatively same or less prices v.s their competitors. However this past visit the food was eh. The beans didn't have much flavor, rice was also bland, chicken was okay, and the corn salsa kinda sucks compared to other places. On a separate note with pricing i would like clarification if anyone knows... because the guy at the register had no clue. So i ordered a burrito bowl so basically a burrito with no tortilla. I did NOT get guacamole. The cashier charged me for the Grand Canyon. I believe i should've been charged for a little Canyon (on the menu the only difference is the guacamole). I told him i didn't get guacamole and he proceeded to explain that i was charged based on the size portion they gave me... mind you i have no control over that. He told me regardless of getting the guacamole or not he charges that price. Honestly he didn't make sense but i wasn't going to fight over the $1 and change. I had my food to stay and took the rest home. Funny enough i went back to the counter on my way out and asked for the side of guacamole that i was charged for. The same cashier gets me one and said in front of another customer who was getting ready to pay "that's on the house". As if i didn't just get charged for it anyway based on the price and menu. I think the manager needs to retrain this guy because if you know this place you know the portions are big so basically he has overcharged everyone. Or just a warning opt to get the guacamole! Your paying for it anyway. I'll be at quadoba or chipotle where the taste is better, prices are true, and portions are just as big. read more

They give you EXACTLY what you ask for, ordering is very fast, the food is good & the place is clean. PERIOD! I love these people who talk like they expected white table cloth fine dining!!! Staff was super nice & attentive. I was more than happy with the size of my burrito. (I got the Grand Canyon with no rice) All of the salsas and guacamole used in my burrito were delicious and tasted super fresh. Loss of a star for no salsa or pico de gallo provided at all for the chips you get, and my steak in the burrito left a bit to be desired. Didn't have much flavor, and was a bit over cooked & "pot roast-y". Price was fair. Overall, I will be back again. But, will maybe try a different meat. read more

LOVE THIS LOCATION! The workers are extremely sweet and kind and the food is so freah and delicious, you won't regret it!

Love me some TJ's from Massapequa. Found this location to not be as good, but the food is still fairly tasty. The line was very long and took awhile to get to the counter to order, Massapequa moves much faster. I also thought this location skimps more on the food. Still cheaper than moes and chipotle, yogurt and such is also located inside and you can get a yogurt with a kids meal. read more

Personally i prefer this place over Chipotle and Moes. I eat pretty healthy and can honestly say that you can build yourself one hell of a salad. Happy Hiker: Spicey chicken, corn salsa, black beans, pico, chipotle dressing. Frekin solid!! So good! I also believe theyre very generous with meat portions and i have always been served in a timely fashion (in and out in 5 minutes) Great job, keep up the good work! read more

Delicious and inexpensive southwestern food. I tried tacos and quesadilla. The portion is big, quesadilla has a really good cheese.

First of all, what is the big deal in giving you the amount of food you pay for. These kids ration off the food as if they were giving away diamonds. Joe's ass is so tight you couldn't drive a peso into it. Also no brown rice, weird. As if the burrito wasn't enough to skimp on, they shoveled a whole 9 chips onto my cheap styrofoam plate (no class). When I asked for a few more on the plate the girl told me it's 50 cents. Really? Go to Moe's where the chips are unlimited and they don't chince on the food. read more

Don't ever order the fish tacos. It was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. They taste like the fish has been sitting around for two days. I nearly broke a tooth on it bc the edges were so hard. Other items there are much better like the fajitadilla and other tacos and burritos but I'm weary of any items that don't have a relatively fast turnover as they may not be fresh. read more

Let's put it this way, IF YOU WANT REAL MEXICAN FOOD- don't come here. This is a classier version of Taco Bell. They don't even have salsa verde, the special plates should come with sides of guacamole sour cream and pico but they don't- the food was OKAY I won't ever come back tho. read more

Quality has steadily gone down. Staff isn't very friendly and portion sizes have been inconsistent. The portions are either on par with it's competitors or smaller. It's a real shame since the food tastes good but if I'm not full after the meal then I can just go to another place like Moes or Chipotle down the road. My go to place for Mexican food just got closer to my house and I was so excited!!! I love taco joes because they're 10x fresher than moes or chipotle. BUT this location has nothing on the massapequa location. The food is awesome, but I'm knocking off three stars because the service is horrible. I don't know why these people feel so entitled because they work at taco joes, but they do. I brought my boyfriends mother here because it's my favorite place, and as she was asking questions they were incredibly rude and rushed her through every thing. The food quality is also nothing compared to the massapequa location. It's like it's a chore at levittown, where as in massapequa everyone is incredibly happy to be serving you. Ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats. The order arrived pretty quickly, but was missing a $9 item (a burrito). We tried calling the phone number for the restaurant (which was pretty difficult to find) and they did not answer after 5 separate call attempts. We're trying to get recourse via Uber Eats, so we'll see how that works out. As for this restaurant, any business that does not answer its phone should not be frequented. I've eaten at the Westbury location many times and I couldn't wait for this place to open because it's closer to home. I like this place very much. The ingredients are fresh and they prepare it the way you like. I recommend the Grand Canyon or the Little Canyon (same but smaller version). The Little Canyon is still a big meal. Beware ordering too much jalapeno peppers, your eyes will be tearing for a long time. read more

I got a chicken quesadilla and a side of queso. I was told it came with chips. It did not. At the register the cashier charged me, not only for my food but also the guys behind me. He had to get the manager involved to do a refund. Amateur move. Food was decent and what you'd expect. read more

Before I begin...this review is for the service at this location. The food is good. A step above Taco Bell and even Chipotle. I've always ordered meat based meals but today I was doing a food run for someone who eats vegan. I ordered the nachos and the server asked what kind of meat I wanted. I replied no meat. She then grabbed a scoop full of nacho cheese and asked if I wanted it. I replied no, that this order was for a vegan. She rolls her eyes and flings the container to the gentleman working the toppings and says with an attitude "he'll help you". Ok, someone's having a bad day. The toppings guy is backed up because of an indecisive couple ahead of me so the same server attempts to help out by grabbing a handful of shredded cheese and asking me sarcastically if I wanted cheese. I replied no and she rolled her eyes again and again flung the container at the toppings guy. The toppings guy was finally done with the indecisive couple ahead of me and asked me what I wanted. I said onions and peppers (fajita mix) and he added raw onions and jalapeño peppers instead. Luckily the person I was ordering for wanted jalapeño peppers so not a total loss. I've always liked going there but today kind of has changed my outlook. read more

Ordered a Grand Canyon Burrito today and asked for a little more guacamole on it since they kind of skimped on it in the first place, and that's just what I got a very little more. That was bad enough, but then they charged me $1.95 for what had to have been less than a half ounce. That would mean they're getting about $64.00 a pound for it. I was a steady customer but I think I'll give Moe's a try next time. I wonder if whoever owns Taco Joe's has anything to do with United Airlines because they seem to be making the same type of business decisions? They got the extra $1.95 but they're losing out on my twice a week patronage. Ripoff enough little people and eventually you're going to feel it. read more

Went to grab dinner here tonight and when I got home there was a hair in my food so when I called to speak to a manager I hear one kid asking some guy are you the manager and then he gets on the phone and can't speak a word of English and when I tried explaining to him about the hair his response was oh my god and had nothing else to say then when I asked if he was still he replied with well what would you like me to do?? This is probably the most mouth watering food around. I personally get the Grand Canyon and it is delicious. Nothing like sitting down to a big juicy burrito after a long hard day at work. If you want a full experience listen to the following. Get a nice hefty burrito, make sure you get some sort of dressing/ condiment because you want it to be very slippery inside. Next you need to insert your scrotum in either side of the burrito. Also you won't have a good time unless you go balls deep. Make sure you have a drink because after your done you will most definitely be out of breath and parched. read more
