Ok- hear me out. You're doing yourself a favor by eating here. I've been ordering from this place only thru DoorDash, BUT LET ME TELL YOU. Everything from the mulitas, obviously the tacos (from fish to meat), but even the birria. The monster taco plate is a great deal and have such an amazing crunch. I don't think it mentioned on DoorDash that it comes with rice & beans but they do. There's 3 or 4 different salsas. All different levels of spice. ALL SO GOOD. There's always a good amount of each with my order and limes too... Which is a godsend cause a lot of places won't send it and the whole order is ruined with no salsa/limes!! Enjoyed my meal completely! The customer service was good and the food was good as well. I slightly preferred the pollo adobado (chicken) over the al pastor (marinated pork) both were good but the chicken had a more pronounced flavor. We did order a side of fries and they were amazing. First timer here. Called in for take out during lunch. Was told 20 mins but the order was completed before then. The phone order: asada quesadilla with the toppings on the side, large asada fries, large asada chips. Upon checking in and waiting my turn to pay, I notice that this place has a taco Tuesday special, so I take advantage of it to try them out. I add onto my phone order 4 additional asada tacos on flour tortillas. Service and atmosphere : the service was excellent from the phone order, to the register, to the receipt of food. The establishment was clean and modern looking. The salsa bar was neat and had a pretty good selection of different salsas. There were multiple bottles of salsa for eat in customers and small plastic cups for take out. There was plenty of seating for customers and didn't seem to be a problem for people wanting to eat in. The food was pretty good but the presentation could use some work. However, that didn't affect the flavor nor prevent my family and I from consuming it. This place is no longer the same and the rating reflects alot of what it used to be... Ive lived in the neighborhood before this place opened up, and they had good quality food before, and it felt like you got your money's worth. (Carne asada fries were seasoned fries before) After gaining some popularity, this place became a money grab. Cheap quality food for high prices. Clean and fun atmosphere with tasty tacos - especially the spicy shrimp tacos!! They are $2.49 each and come brimming with plump shrimp and shredded cabbage. For sure worth the drive of you are debating this one over Lolitas. Shrimp taco and surf and turf were both very tasty. Had a creamy chipotle sauce and a nice slice of avocado on top. They were full and worth the price. Two were for sure filling might have needed a third of I wanted to embrace my inner fatty. Also got the bean and cheese burrito. Beans were tasty, perfect amount of sour cream. Tortilla was excellent. Had that perfect texture that you want at a taco shop. Lastly their salsa was great. Not spicy but very flavorful. Ordered food yesterday. The woman working the register seemed unhappy to be working. When I ordered she did not verbally acknowledge me. When I came to the register she raised her eyebrows seemingly to tell me to place my order. When I spoke she definitely understood. She nodded and rolled her eyes at me when I ordered. When it was time to tell me the total, she simply reached around the outside of the register and pointed at the display showing the total. I stopped by taco lounge thinking I would only get ONE, just to try because I wasn't hungry. But, when I saw that tacos are only about $2/$2.50, I wanted to try one of everything. Just finished my meal and I felt compelled to leave a review. This place is BOMB. I ordered a pollo adobado burrito and large adobada fries for my boyfriend through Door Dash. I didn't request salsa, but was pleased to find a bag with 1 green, 3 different varieties of red salsa and limes. Their salsas are SO flavorful (more than most taco shops) especially the lightest red. I would say they're about medium heat (but everyone's spicy tolerance is different). You can tell they're made fresh and with heart. The prices are great for the quality and the food was prepared and arrived quickly! We spent about $22 for the two of us w tax + fees. As a taco fanatic, I enjoyed the the new taco shop around the block! And I believe it is the best taco shop in the Otay Ranch area. People around here have high expectations for tacos, and the Taco Lounge fulfills these expectations. The shop looks small from the outside, but don't be fooled. Tables are spaced out very well and you can enjoy the clean and clear decor around you. Service was helpful and friendly. I got multiple tacos, one which was taco de birreria. This is where the flavor bomb lies. One bite and the flavor travels, just as someone is giving you a nice big hug! My boyfriend got a carne asada taco and said the carne asada was flavorful as well. All of course with corn tortillas. As pictured, there is a lot of different salsas you can choose from in the salsa bar. The salsa tastes clean and does not over power the tacos. There is a nice balance going on with the salsas. It is a must for me to eat tacos with Horchata. Horchata here wasn't the best one I've had, but it beats the Horchata soda machines companies plug in at their shops. The menu offers many different items and I have yet to try all of them. Taco Lounge is a contemporary take on the traditional TJ style tacos. This is my 3rd time here. Their traditional tacos al pastor are hands down the best ones! The mulitas are also delicious. My daughter's favorite is the carne asada burrito. The tortillas are homemade all day which makes everything you order taste that much better. The restaurant is tucked away in the neighborhood and is now one of my favorite places to eat after my daughter's soccer practice. read more
