I steered clear of Taco Mac for a long time due to the poor reviews. I wish I hadn't. This place gets a bad rap. No, it is not a five-star establishment, but it is a quality spot to get some better than average food. Hubby and I finally decided to give it a go despite the bad reviews we kept seeing. It instantly became one of my favorite go-to spots for good food at good prices. The service can be hit or miss, especially if it's crowded, but out of the 7 visits we have had since we started coming here, we have had decent service for at least 5 of them. Now we scope them out. If we arrive and most tables are full, we won't bother staying and usually have plan B lined up as a backup. But don't be fooled by the parking lot because sometimes it looks packed in the lot but it's not too bad inside. My favorite thing on the menu is their original wings with medium buffalo sauce. Their blue cheese and ranch dressings are the best I think I've had at any restaurant and pair beautifully with their delicious wings. The queso dip is also mouthwateringly delicious. I've also tried both egg roll options (the one with jalapeno and cheese is my favorite), the buffalo chicken tacos (they were decent), the buffalo chicken sandwich (not really a fan) and a smashburger that had caramelized onions in it (amazing). Hubby loves the wings too and the mild ones are perfect for him since he tends to be sensitive to too much spice. The fries are often crispy and have great seasoning. They are even great as leftovers next day, which is rare for fries. I'm guessing most of the reviews come from days when they are slammed because we did have to walk out on one of our visits because we realized it was not going to improve after we had been sitting for more than 10 minutes with nobody coming to even get our drink order. That is why we won't come back in if they are crowded but if you go when it is less than halfway full, you likely won't be disappointed, especially because the food is really good and reasonably priced by today's standards. We will be back regularly as they are my new favorite spot for wings. read more

If I could give this location negative stars that would be more appropriate. We put in an order for Super Bowl Sunday way ahead of time through Uber Eats for pickup and they said they not only had no record of it, the manager Travis told my fiancé multiple times that they couldn't cancel it and that it was all Uber's fault. Tons of people were waiting for their orders and no one could get straight answers. Travis made no effort to make it right and it was clear that the restaurant was completely in chaos and not at all prepared for the number of orders you should expect for the Super Bowl. They could just close ordering if they can't fulfill that kind of volume. Gave up and got burgers elsewhere, which sucks because we do like their wings a lot. read more

We came in on Tuesday night for dinner at around 6:30. The restaurant was about half to two thirds full. We were quickly seated as a party of four and a toddler. Our waitress was very inattentive, she would ask if we needed anything and then quickly walk away. However, that was not the downfall of this location. We waited 45min- 1hr for our food. It arrived cold. All of our food. We asked to speak to a manager, and here was where it's quite obvious this place is unlikely to improve, the only manager available was the kitchen manager. There was no leadership for the front of house. If the only leadership available is in the kitchen and not customer focused, then they should be trained in service recovery. This gentleman was certainly not. Essentially the reason our food took an hour AND was cold was because we came in at the end of a rush. After waiting an hour he offered to remake it, which took another 20ish min. We decided to take the food to go. Why the server didn't bring the check (no discount or admittance of being at fault) with the to go food baffles me. We spent 1.5hrs in the restaurant waiting for a to go order. The whole experience might be the worst dining experience I have ever had. From a chain restaurant that should have systems and accountability from leadership, it's obvious the management for this location has no standards. read more

Last night, we had the worst Taco Mac experience in human history (and I say human history, because the only reasonable explanation is that this waiter was either from outer space or so high that all he could hear were stars whizzing by) The night started hopeful. Our waters and queso arrive with no issue, but from there we would embark on a journey of the oddest proportions. To start the night, I tried to order a Guinness, a wintery favorite. They were out, I was told. Understandable - we were there the evening after New Years Eve - the national hangover holiday for customer and waiter alike. "That's fine," I say, "what other stouts do you have?" "Oh," he returns. "I like... don't who how to find out that information." I ask for a beer list. He hands us a booklet that "probably has beer in it." It doesn't, so we send him back to outer space with our dinner order while I find the beer menu online. "I'll have the Monday Night Stout," I say when he returns. A few minutes later, instead a dark delicious beer, he returns with something pale and a lime wedge. Confused, I say, "I'm sorry but I think I ordered a stout, that's something else. The waiter, working for the Baskin Robbins of beer replies, "Oh, I didn't know what that was so I just like picked one." Am I the one in outer space, I being to wonder? I ask again if I could get the beer that I ordered, adding that if they didn't have the Monday Night stout, I would just take any stout they had at this point. "Stout? I don't know what the means," he says. I explain as gently as I can without my eye twitching that it's just the name of the beer. He stares at me. I stare him. He stares at me. Clearly, he has no plans to get the beer. "I'll just... drink whatever this is." "Cool!," he says with a giant smile, "thanks!" At this point, he believes he's doing an excellent job. I try a few sips of the beer, then desert it into a condensation pool of rejection. It's definitely not a stout, and I'm starting to suspect that I'm in a sort of Twilight Zone where waiters order whatever they want and customers just have to take what they can get. To test the theory, I look at my friends and ask, "am I the one being weird or did that man just say he picked a random beer instead of bringing the one I ordered?" No, they confirm, that is indeed what just happened. An hour goes by, and after the queso has been picked clean and our martian of a waiter asks for the fourth time "you good?" We ask if our food will be ready soon. "Ohhhhhh," he snaps his fingers. "you DID order food - let me check." He returns from his spaceship to say our order "disappeared" (probably into outer space) but it's definitely going to be out soon, but only half of it because they ran out of everything else. At this point, the final tortilla chip has been broken (split into several pieces for us to all share), but we're just a bunch of girls that don't have the heart to call the manager. "I think we just want to leave. Can we get the checks?" "So like, you want the food to go?" "No," I say, staring deep into his soul, hoping he will somehow how realize what a colossal failure this entire experience has been without having to raise my voice. "We're going to eat somewhere else. Just bring us the check for the queso and drinks." "Oh, so I have to cancel (half) your tacos?" Yes, sorry for the inconvenience We are then sent on our way with nothing but a "my bad, guys" and a charge for beer I didn't order and didn't drink and a queso that fed us like the loaves and fishes until we made it to the Marlowe's across street an hour and a half later. Ordered 2 different wings - one 10 wing original and one 10 wing oven-roasted - and was disappointed with the result. The original was perfect and tasty while the oven-roasted should be changed to oven-burnt. The oven-burnt was for my wife, and she tried to make the best of it. She ended up eating only 6 wings before giving up. Never had a problem before, had been there at least 4 previous times, but the fact that the cook seemed okay with over-cooked wings is a problem. I have always enjoyed the choices of beers, but I will not going back for a 6th time mainly because my wife has other wing options to choose from nearby locations. read more

We grabbed Taco Mac to go for dinner to satisfy a chicken wing craving. Typically, I don't go out for wings as I am very particular with the way I like my wings, but hubs didn't feel like cooking so we ordered take out. We got the original wings with a two sauce split ($21.99) and a side of fries ($3.99). The hot sauce was good. I did not care for the honey chipotle sauce at all. Ridiculously, I'll admit, I was expecting the thick and super sweet glaze they serve at a popular chain with a big red pepper as the logo. This is not that sauce. I guess taco mac's is more sophisticated? I wasn't looking for sophisticated though. Hubs enjoyed both sauces so we can just chalk it up to personal preference. The fries were excellent once we reheated them in the air fryer. Wings don't ever travel well either, so I don't blame taco mac for the soggy wings and cold fries that came home with us. Hubs was more pleased than I was overall - but it was a long shot for me anyway. Tough wing critic, remember? Important to note, these wings are smaller because they are springer mountain farm chicken wings which are typically on the smaller side but a much better quality - humanely raised and antibiotic free. Extra points for never freezing the chicken, too. Gun to my head if I needed to order wings again from a restaurant I'd return here. That said, we probably won't be back for a very long time because we normally make chicken wings at home. I can't speak to the service/wait times all the other reviews seem to mention. Stop by taco Mac at crab this evening for a quick bite. I ordered the wedge salad and a cheeseburger with bacon onion and tomato. I have a dark L beer that was quite tasty and I'm now sitting and waiting for my food! it would've been nice if my wedge salad had come out first, but it looks like it's all gonna come out at the same time unlike my last two visitor the service is a little slow tonight. I recently moved back to the area. After being gone for several years, I was craving the classic Taco Mac experience. My brother ant I went to watch the Falcons game. I honestly had a great time. The wings were great! That homemade ranch dressing is freaking great, and I had forgotten how good it was. I tried the wedge salad and some wings and really enjoyed it. I'd love to be able to give this Taco Max Five Stars and boost its rating ... but it never goes out of the way to impress. It has been consistent for my family at least. We come here and we always receive good service. Rarely are there events where we are waiting for a server to assist us. Convenient location. Never an issue with the food - although I could do with a sub for cilantro rice...just not my favorite. Cold beer when we want it and my son gets his chocolate milk. A couple times I've gotten charged for a drinks (kids) even tho drinks are supposed to come with the kids meals. I have started to point it out but I never shirk on the tip...I figured they should know it's happening (2 drinks = a kids meal so it adds up). Anyway, I haven't had an issue so give it a chance and hopefully it will work out for you read more

This place has smelled like dirty dish rags & taps for over 15 years. It's nice and spacious with lots of TVs. The staff has always been consistently good. When I'm hungry for some hot wings there are few places that compare to good ol' Taco Mac. Our nearest one is in Roswell and it wasn't too crowded on a Sunday evening. Got seated right away and Bresha, our server, was on point with great service. Kenneth, the manager, checked in with us to ensure all was good. We had the onion ring appetizer to hold us over for our entrees since we hadn't eaten since breakfast. I ordered the lettuce wedge which was "huge" with about a third a head of crisp chilled iceberg lettuce, bacon crumbles, cherry tomatoes and chunky blue cheese. TM's blue cheese is one of the best around! My lovely wife had a tossed salad with sliced chicken that had a smokey and slightly spicy flavor. I had a 10 piece original wings bathed in Death Sauce. Fantastic flavor and zippy heat. The fries were cooked perfect and the iced tea was plentiful and refreshing. Lots of televisions to watch golf, basketball or baseball - pick your favorite. I am giving this experience a 3 because it was good experience but not great. Opportunity for improvement. I came here on a week night. I was not ready for a 1 hr and 20 minute visit. Usually I can just chill, but the temperature inside was uncomfortably warm. The server acknowledged she had several complaints and finally told the manager to turn on the air. It takes time to cool down a building. This should have been done earlier in the day. They also got rid of my favorite street corn. The experience was not not great as a guest. Taco Mac gets some hate but I really like it. I keep going back on a regular basis and I never have issues. Maybe if you are like the other reviewers and care about plating at a sports bar, smelling other people's food other than what you ordered at a public restaurant, or have no idea how takeout works, then you might not like this place either. Anyways, you can't beat the beer selection here. It doesn't matter how many hundreds of beers you have had here in the past, you can always find a new one you haven't had. The brewniversity program is one of the best beer programs out there. The fact that you can keep track of the beers you have had in the past is great if you love beer. I wish other restaurants that revolved around drinks had ways to keep track and find new libations you love like Taco Mac does. I also really like the food here. The baked wings just really fit the type of wings I like. The sauce is good too and a variety that you can change up. I love the fries here. Always cooked right and tasty. I think over the years they have changed some things like the sauce recipes and wing provider, but overall has been consistently good and keeps me coming back time and time again. Two pieces of advice for management. First, if there is a big game on, they always have it on when you come in. However, if it's a normal night I usually have to ask for sports to be put on. They turn it on sports channels and leave it but that means so many times there is 30 for 30 playing when it should be on one of the 5 basketball games currently being played. Also, some nights get busy and it seems they still only have one bartender behind the bar. We ordered the queso for appetizer and it t"never came, just after 20 minutes the bartender came over and said they were redoing it for some reason so we asked him for chips and salsa while waiting on our food that it took about 30 minutes to come out. Wings were good, fries were old, I don't understand how the manager allowed them to sell those fries. Also our broccoli side came in a chipped plate, again the manager allowed it to be sold that way. We never saw the manager and he never came to apologize or see how everything was. We love the wings and sweet potato fries here. The homemade ranch is unlike anywhere else and the chocolate stout pie is decadent and dare I say, heavenly. What can I say? I'm a sucker for good food. Special mention goes to our favorite server, Katie. She always gives exceptional service and gives us great recommendations. Wings: Medium Buffalo and Honey Chipotle - our go-to flavors! Fries: Sweet potato fries are a must!! I did not like sweet potato fries before having the Taco Mac ones. The seasoning they put on it and the fact that is a thinner fry sets it apart. Dipping: I normally get blue cheese with wings but the ranch hits on a different level. Thanks to our server for recommending to try it and telling us that it's different because it's made in-house. My sister-in-law and I went to this taco Mac location today for lunch. We have not seen each other in a while, and wanted to take our time to catch up with each other. The server was also the hostess, and she sat us, and immediately asked us if we knew what we wanted to eat. We told her no, because we had just sat down and had not had a chance to look at the menu. She left, and approximately two minutes later came over and asked the same thing. She did it again approximately two minutes later. I finally told her we were going to be there for a little while to talk and catch up. She told me just to flag her over when we were ready to order, which we did. As we were eating our meal, several of the wait staff came by and asked if we were OK and if we needed anything, and we told them, we were fine. We had been there about an hour, and then the manager came over and asked if we needed anything and if we wanted to go boxes. my sister-in-law, and I were very surprised, as they seem like they were trying to get us out of there in a hurry. We were one of approximately five tables which were occupied. The rest of the location was totally empty. The manager came over again and brought us boxes dropped the check down, and told us we can pay. We felt like they were trying to rush us out of there. I know they like a quick turnover on tables, but we are very good tippers, and always make it worth the wait staffs time in the way that we tip. The manager came over yet once again and asked us if everything was OK and have a good day. We finally gathered our go boxes up and left. We felt very rushed, and very unwanted in that location. It was clear all they wanted was their money and for you to get out of there as quickly as possible. We will not be going there again, and I will certainly let everyone I know know about it. read more
