The focaccia bread it comes on is so soft and warm, the chicken is a thick breast-cut filet, the queso fresco is unlike anything I've ever had, and basil aioli adds so much flavor! I love it just the way it comes with tomato and arugula on the panini as well... yum! The asparagus fries are a signature side here... man are these something special. The light batter is perfect for veggies, and the asparagus has a crisp bite to them. Truly very additive! The service was very personable. They greeted us by letting us know their names, made course recommendations, informed us of the specials of the day, asked us if we wanted dessert, and kept up refills on our waters throughout our experience. The food came out at an average amount of wait time- no worries. Some things I generally don't like about Marlow's locations is the dark lighting inside. It's also pretty tacky... I know it's suppose to be an old style tavern (hence the name), but the mirrors that line the dining room, the faded maroon colors, and the outdated exterior design are not my favorite. I never drive by a Marlow's and feel enticed to go there... but obviously the food is pretty great for lunch or dinner. read more

They do everything right at this Marlows. I went with a group of 10 women for lunch. Everyone raved about the food. I had the cobb salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious and very fresh. The prices are reasonable too. Our server was delightful. She was attentive, but not fussy. We were seated on the patio where it was quiet and there was a cross breeze. We decided to try this other location since we've been to other locations before. Our waitress was Sandra who was attentive. We ordered two of the "Mexican Stand Off" which took FOREVER to come to our table and the restaurant and bar wasn't that super busy. That part was disappointing. For an appetizer we ordered the Shrimp & Crab "Nacho" plate which was yummy. I ordered the Chicken panini which was delicious and my partner ordered the Black & Blue Burger which was delicious too. Something to remember when you read the review, the restaurant was not busy at all and neither was the bar. The restaurant has the typical Marlow's ambiance, dark with low lighting. Our server was Sandra, she started rocky but she ended up being really nice. Our drinks took a realllllly long time, was very unsatisfactory in my opinion. The nachos were good, as always. Marlow's has been a weekly staple for me and hubby since we discovered it and generally, we love it. But tonight we had family in town and decided to take them all out for a tasty dinner at Marlow's and ended up changing our plans after we were seated and leaving to another restaurant before things got even worse. We asked for a table for 10 and the server who saw us come in arranged a few tables to accommodate us. It ended up forming a long table with an opening only at one end and since that would make it uncomfortable if anyone on the closed end needed to get up for any reason, we asked her to move it slightly over to create an opening on both sides, which she did but not without looking rather annoyed at the request. This was not a server we had seen before on our many visits. After being seated, our party sat and talked for about ten minutes waiting for someone to come and give us water or even menus but that never happened. This was a Monday night, so the place was pretty dead and there were only 2 or 3 other small tables in the whole place besides us, so there was really no reason why we should be ignored for as long as we were. We kept looking around to see if anyone might help but the lady who sat us was just kind of lingering near the kitchen and wouldn't even look in our direction and nobody else checked on us. It sucked because we were with some of our elderly family that aren't easy to move around with too much, but if nobody gave us so much as the time of day in the first 10 minutes of sitting, we were pretty sure things were not likely to improve by waiting longer, so we decided to give it up and go to another nearby restaurant where they were much more eager to serve our large party. While it was not the norm that we have experienced here, it was quite aggravating to have to move our family from one place to another. The fact that we are regulars here made it sting a bit more because we definitely expected better treatment, especially considering that we spend quite a bit of time and money here. We ended up going to Rojos Mexican in the shopping center across the street and it did not disappoint, so it worked out in the end. I realize this was probably an off day and maybe just bad timing with staff we didn't recognize but it was disappointing enough that we will likely take a timeout before returning for a bit and we certainly will not be coming back with family or friends anytime soon either. read more

Attended a large meeting of more than forty people at this location. We were seated at one long outdoor table. Appetizers had already been pre-ordered and we chose our own entrees. Quality of food was quite good, including the bang bang shrimp and the Atlantic salmon with couscous. Service for such a large crowd was adequate, though the food came out essentially one person at a time, and the servers had no idea who ordered anything, so it was sort of a crapshoot whether someone got their correct order. However, the service was friendly and hospitable. The vibe of the restaurant is sort of bar and grill'ish, but they did have nice cloth napkins and the food was definitely a step above the average bar and grill. read more

I ordered my fave - salmon with couscous. When they brought it to the table, the server told me that the cook had oversaturated the sauce. I thought it would be okay, so I accepted and told him that I liked the sauce. However, it was so overpowering. The waiter also asked me if it was okay, and I didn't return it. But, after eating it, I realized that the sauce was way too overpowering ( since it was doubled); and I should have sent it back. I absolutely loved this place. First of all, the service here was amazing. We ordered the wings, but they dropped the order. When I asked for it, they acknowledged and offered it for free. I notice a decline in some restaurants since the pandemic .... but Marlow's -- both the service and food -- is as good as it's ever been. Catching up with an old friend, our server was attentive but not hovering, which was perfect for a leisurely lunch. Though it's been off the menu for years, the kitchen still prepares banh mi sandwiches, which has always been my pick. One gets a choice of grilled or fried chicken -- grilled is better! -- and a side. I think their garden salad is good and the ranch dressing is better than in most restaurants. My friend ordered their crispy grouper sandwich with a Caesar salad. They can prepare the sandwich somewhat spicy (as described on the menu) or not -- which was my friend's preference. Prices are commensurate with the area, and parking is easy in the shared lot. As I've noted before, Trader Joe's is in the same strip mall which is convenient for a post-lunch visit. read more

This is my local Marlow's Tavern. I've been here dozens of times but this may be my first review. Through the years, the service and food have always been consistently good. In the past I've really enjoyed their Sunday brunch. Prior to 2020 they offered a breakfast buffet that offered a great variety of options. If you download their app or join their Insider program, you can receive rewards including a free entree during your birthday month. When I dine solo I typically sit at the bar. This time I tried their filet and substituted for them twice baked potatoes side. The steak was super tender and grilled perfectly. The potatoes tasted very flavorful and the broccoli was super fresh. Mercedes the bartender provided excellent service. I'll definitely be back again and again to enjoy all of their standard menu items and try some seasonal menu specials. read more

If you're hungry, this isn't the place for you. I've never seen a smaller portion size of salmon. Definitely not the place to take a family unless you love swinging thru a drive through after dinner to fill up your kids. Add another Marlow's to our list of Marlow's that my son and his wife want to try. My son and his wife and three children live in Marietta and every time we go down to visit, we take them out for lunch with the stipulation that it is their choice. They seem to like Marlow's Tavern which has a goodly number of locations in the Atlanta Metro area and each time they want to try a different one. Originally, we just stayed with the East Cobb location but they have branched out and this time they wanted to try this location in Roswell. Roswell in east of Marietta but only about a 20-minute drive from their home. After shopping for shoes at Coggins for the Grandchildren we drove over and easily found the restaurant. Not that I am that good a navigator or have a GPS but we were in Brian's Car and he knew the area. It's a nice restaurant and when we got there, they had to do a little planning. We were after all, a party of seven with two adults, two senior and three very active children 9 years and less. A restaurants worst nightmare but fortunately the kids were very well behaved. No one killed anyone else. We started with some beverages and my wife had a Black Russian, Jill (my daughter-in-law) had a glass of white wine, my son stuck with Craft Beer and I had unsweetened tea. The kids all had juice. We started out with some sharables for the table which included Kettle Chips, Hummus and my wife's favorite, the Asparagus Fries. Jill is a fan of the Hummus. For the main course, my wife went with her favorite Black and Blue Salad. Jill had the Crispy Grouper Sandwich while my son had the Tavern Burger. I had the Black and Blue Burger. All were great and for the kids, like most young children, for some reason their meal of choice is either Mac 'n Cheese or Chicken Finger. They scored on both and were in hog heaven. Marlow's Roswell was crowded on Sunday night but we got seated fairly quickly. Matthew was our server and he was as congenial as he was competent. (We'll ask for him next time.). My darling wife and I split a Caesar salad but had to request "no kale" in it. (Who puts kale in a Caesar salad in the first place?). My wife's chicken panini sandwich was tasty as was my French dip. The French fries were exceptionally good - fresh, hot and with a slight crunchiness on the outside. The roast beef in the French dip was plentiful and flavorful. The melted Jack cheese and caramelized onions on it made it that much more delicious. Marlow's doesn't disappoint and we can't wait to return again. read more

So I normally do not write reviews but my experience here was absolutely terrible. I got a blackberry mojito that had chopped up mint that made the drink undrinkable. I also did not realize that the tavern burger does not come with cheese. Kind of odd, but oh well. What really sealed the deal was my waiter's terrible attitude towards my table specifically. This was a Return visit to this local business. Once again the staff makes this location enjoyable to eat at. The staff graciously welcomes you and the waiting team quickly meets you at the table to bring you refreshments. The menu items are always tasty. I try different selections each time. The exterior of the building is simple and straight forward and the interior of the place is a little dark but somewhat okay for spacing. ] IS IT CLEAN? | [For the most part, test it is clean and they keep it that way for the majority of their opening hours.] FOOD & DRINKS | [ For the main part of the review, food & drinks. All I have to say is that there were more drink options than there were food options. I wasn't expecting them to have such few food options for a place that has mostly booth-style seating. When the waiter was helping us get food, he emphasized how fresh the food is and its in-house made. They gave us recommendations on what was good and which ones were the best, but I saw they were recommending the more overpriced items. We ended up getting the flatbread, tavern burger, and veggie burger. The flatbread was good but it was the ranch that honestly made the difference of the flatbread and made it a pass, but everything else about it was meh. The burgers were ok but weren't delicious. The only thing that was good out of everything was just the fries. I had the veggie burger which was honestly sweeter, mainly because of the carrots, but was not the best veggie burger out there. It was a little underperformed for that style of burger. For the regular tavern burger, it was ok as well, it wasn't the best because the taste was a little underwhelming. I've always liked Marlow's for their consistent food quality and reasonable prices. Had lunch here yesterday and they have tweaked their recipe for the Very Very Veggie Burger to absolute perfection. If anyone from Marlow's reads this review, please don't change this recipe as you've finally got the best veggie burger possible. The only negative of our visit is I took my sister out for her birthday lunch and they didn't offer her a birthday dessert. Service was fast and friendly. Inside is tavern welcoming with nice booths and clean. Service was probably near the worst I've had in a year and normally I'm fairly forgiving. Wine took about 20-25 minutes, nobody checked in and didn't come until we asked again. Asked for ketchup for kids burger, never came. Asked for tarter sauce on the side, never came. Next the food. Asparagus fries delicious, which bumps it up to 3 star review. Had the filets, minimal or 0 seasoning. Potato pankake was not a potato pankake at all, incorrectly named on the menu, it was hashbrowns, extremely fried to a crisp. Wife's grouper sandwich was good. I'd be willing to give it another shot, may have been an off night, but if service is that slow a manager should probably step in or atleast give some explanations.
