Love coming here! The service is fairly quick despite being busy with limited seating. They have decent decor but not a good date spot. The food is good! The naan is super fluffy and soft. The paneer tikka is really sweet and they decreased the amount of salsa and Hispanic food they add for the fusion. Mango lassi was delicious. Will still return every once in a while while it's still good

What a fun, unique twist on Indian food. Who would've thought that Indian and Mexican collaboration would have worked so well! I opted for the chicken tikka masala taco on stuffed cheese, naan bread. The chicken masala was delicious and very fragrant and flavorful. Adding guacamole on top was the icing on the cake; it added a special richness to the overall meal. Portions were huge and priced very well. I only wish they had a butter chicken option cause I find that to be a little bit more creamy and acidic then tikka masala, other then that, a must visit!

A unique take on tacos. I ordered the chicken Tikka masala taco on roti. Really fresh and flavorful and the roti was the perfect size, just like a tortilla!

We were pretty hungry when we got here and we were looking for something different. Unfortunately, they didn't get our order right. They only gave us one taco and the serving was pretty small. Also, the masala fries were not that big. It's small inside and felt not very welcoming, but not sure what we return again. The flavors of the food were pretty traditional, which was nice. Try them for yourselves.

First of all, this is NOT a "fusion" restaurant... This is literally Indian food made in the form of a taco, making it much easier to eat curry versus the traditional way. We popped in around 8:15pm on a Saturday night and it was apparently prime time for them at that hour! This place is VERY small, so it was very crowded. They only have about 5 tables (most only seat 2 people each) and 5-6 additional seats at the window "bar" tabletop. Also, they didn't set up the inside very well so the line to order ends up blocking the door if too many people are there. And due to the crowd, it was VERY LOUD inside. The sound seemed to bounce around in the room, which was incredibly overstimulating. I ended up staying outside to eat after I ordered due to this. Okay, now that we've discussed the ambiance, let's talk about the food! I ordered the Paneer Tikka on a Cheesy Garlic Naan ($1.50 up charge for the garlic + cheese on the naan, $0.50 up charge for just garlic and $1 up charge for just cheese). It was absolutely delicious! Adding the garlic and cheese to the naan added an extra burst of flavor to the paneer tikka curry that was the filling. This was such an easy and less messy way to eat one of my all time favorite curries!! I was with a group of people and we ordered some Masala Fries to share - these were also very tasty. The fries themselves were SUPER crispy, which I loved. However, I was a bit surprised that they weren't covered in a masala seasoning... Instead, they had some cheese crumbles and chopped onions on top. It was still delicious, just not at all what I had expected since the name of the dish had the word "masala" in it. Also, I want to make note that I ate ONE naan "taco" and a handful of fries and was completely full. Unless you're looking to take home leftovers, I'd say just order one naan taco to start - they are very filling! However, if you choose to order a Roti Taco instead, you might need a second one. Roti is a less-fluffy Indian bread (typically eaten with curry like naan), so it's usually less filling than naan. If you like Indian food, you should DEFINITELY give this place a try!! And if you sometimes get overstimulated (like me), you might want to consider ordering take out if it's busy when you arrive.

Indian-Mexican fusion is brilliant! The staff was so friendly, food was good albeit pretty expensive for the portion size, and there was plenty of seating to get out of the cold. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite in NYC, but I have to say, the best Indian-Mexican food is in So Cal hands down. I enjoyed this vegan option in the city though.

Novelty naan-roll spot with decent food and large portions. High demand, so lots of seating but usually competitive to get. Large portions but proportionally priced. Got the garlic cheese naan with saag paneer and could not finish it. The saag was delicious, the naan cheesy naan was delicious -- but something about the paneer's flavor really threw the whole thing off. I'll come back another time to try the saag paneer again.

For the first time I was disappointed with taco mahal!!!! And this was my first time out of the first 5 being at their other location . Having craved this place for a while now I was closer to here than other spot. And I no longer would ever come here again. I got these 2 items for near to 40$ and I consider it a waste today!! Biriyani is always so flavorful but not today had hints of flavor but not hot it should be and always is. And the chicken masala was even worse . It seemed as though they pull some water in with the rice at the bottom so that watered eveything down . But the masala was also bland and just a bad meal. I even had to add the white sauce to give it flavor. And while placing order by phone he asked if I wanted not spicy or spicy I said medium is fine . I had zero spicy ness

Wow! I got the lamb curry and chicken tikka masala cheesy naan tacos and wow it was incredibly delicious. The naan tacos are big, so one would have been enough but they are so tasty, especially the chicken tikka masala. The mango chutney had a really nice kick to it and added so much flavor to the already delicious tacos. The service was quick and the small but cute restaurant was clean. There are no public bathrooms inside but I highly recommend checking this place out

Visited Taco Mahal for the first time after a workout class with a friend, and it was enjoyable. It's a quick, casual spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor space is on the smaller side, but there were plenty of people dining in--which is always a good sign. The concept of Indian-inspired tacos was super intriguing. We both ordered the Chicken Masala--one as a Naan Taco and one as a bowl. The chicken masala was full of flavor. The bowl came with basmati rice, greens, a scoop of guac (a great pairing with the chicken), and a lentil dal that was healthy, though a bit lacking in flavor. The Naan Taco was tasty too, though the naan-to-filling ratio felt a little off--maybe a bit too much bread for the amount of chicken. Still, it was satisfying overall. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

Loved it!! I've visited India multiple times and have eaten at literally dozens of Indian restaurants and this place is now in my top 10. It's a very small and unassuming location. Only has seating for about 20, at most; but the food was creative and delicious. The roti tacos are okay, but the naan taco was a solid 10/10. I visited twice in two days and tried the chicken, lamb, saag/palak (spinach), and chana (garbanzo beans). Solid choices for any of the above.

Roti Taco with Paneer Tikka Masala ($7) - I loved this unique dish! The curry was sweet and flavorful and the roti was softer than I expected. The garnish went well and it was a great dish overall.

We were in the area and looking for a quick bite when we saw Taco Mahal and it looked interesting. This is a nice hole in the wall for Indian take on tacos and a few other Indian dishes. The space is quite small and can accommodate around 10-12 diners, but most of the traffic is carry-out. Placing the order was easy and the food was ready quickly as well. We ordered the following: Chicken Tikka Masala Naan Taco Lamb Curry Naan Taco Chicken Biryani The take on a taco was unique and interesting. The naan was fresh and well baked. The curries were also good and flavorful. Both the curries were quite authentic, though the Lamb curry had a nice kick to it The Chicken Biryani was good as well - and packed quite a bit of heat - not for the faint of heart. The serving sizes were generous as well - the tacos are best eaten as soon as possible! A good spot when in the area.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. It feels like just another restaurant that's lost sight of creating an actual experience for guests. The lack of vibe is obvious--if you don't want customers, just say so. I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall.
