Food and service was very quick, Flautas were slightly over fried but it did not effect the flavor too much. The Agua de Piña was delicious. Looks like they add Chia Seeds to it. The seeds gave the drink a different feeling that I enjoy! Didn't seem too busy around lunch time. I would come again for a quick bite! read more

Have been in here a few times, and it is never busy, even though the food and service are good. I hope this place does well, because it seems like a bit of a hidden gem. I'm glad the owners of the El Gallito taco truck finally opened a restaurant. The best part is that I live less than a 5 minute drive from the shopping center where the taqueria is located! The best $1 tacos you'll find in High Point! I haven't tried much of the menu because of how cheap and delicious the tacos are. El Gallito cook up some of the best lengua(tongue) tacos in the triad! Always cooked perfectly. Definitely try from this place if you've never have them. The chorizo taco is another favorite of mine. It's freshly made unlike a few spots that use store bought chorizo. The shrimp taco is pretty good also and only 50 cents more than the other meats. The chicken and steak tacos is always a favorite for my friends. There's so many places that overcook the chicken and steak to the point that it's dry and you have to drown it in salsa and lime juice. Not Gallito! Juicy and finely chopped. I've been to their food truck on Main Street a few times and the food has always been great. I saw they opened this restaurant location and had to stop by and check them out. It's in the Westchester Commons shopping center between Dollar General and Big Lots. Their menu is mainly Mexican street food type items like tacos, tortas, burritos, gorditas and a few other items along with a couple of plate options. Their banner out front has buffet listed on it, but not sure when that is available, there wasn't any type of buffet on my visit. I was in early just after 11am and had the place to my self for a little while, the waiter brought out a basket of wagon wheel chips with my drink order. I had an order of sopes, which comes 3 to an order. I ordered 1 each of barbacoa, al pastor and chorizo. All 3 were fantastic, the al pastor was probably my favorite of the 3. The server brought bottles of their red and green suaces and both were great added the the sopes. There was definitely plenty of the meats piled on the little corn sopes, they have a layer of beans on the bottom, then topped with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese and avocado. My lunch was really good, I'll definitely have to come back. read more

I think I stopped here on Cinco de Mayo. Seemed to be the spot. Tried Asada, el pastor and barbacoa. Not sure which one I liked more since I got them suprema, with lettuce, tomato and crema. Tacos were good and salsa was on point too. I love tacos. Only wish they had avocado like some other taco spots. read more

This place has true, authentic Mexican Food. I've gone to a lot of places where they don't make the food the way it should be, but this place hit the spot with all the dishes we ordered. The Agua de Horchata is one of the best I've tried, and has a sweet, natural flavor to it. The service was also really good, and they made sure we got everything we needed. read more

The literal best tacos in High Point and possibly NC? Like a true glutton, I scarfed my food down before I could snap a pic. We got Al Pastor and Asada tacos, an asada Gordita and two sopes (one asada, one pollo) and two cokes (cane sugar, none of this corn syrup crap) and hell's bells was it amazing! While everything was delectable the pastor tacos and Gordita made my eyes roll all the way back in my head until they came 'round the other side. I borderline don't want anyone to know about this place because there was no line at 6:15 on a Friday but the world NEEDS TO KNOW! Do yourself a favor and get one of everything. 10/10 this place is fantastic!! I was skeptical pulling up because there wasn't any one there on the weeknight. But, service was friendly and fast. The food came out piping hot! I got myself a quesabirria and it was wonderful!!! I ordered a beef and cheese soft taco for my 3 year old who is extra picky at times. The taco came out and it was actual steak and so flavorful! Really delicious, unpretentious food. I'm no expert but pretty much everything seems homemade to me. Servings are huge and our bill hardly ever breaks $20 for the two of us. My son, husband and myself stopped here for dinner. My son got steak tacos. My husband and I opted for a steak taco and pork carnitas tacos. They were in corn tortillas with cilantro and onions with green sauce and red sauce to add. My son has eaten here before and LOVES it. This was the first experience for my husband and myself. I have to say that it was really good food and we will be back to try other flavors as well as the burritos. This place is amazing! Went there yesterday with my husband and tried about 7 different kinds of tacos. All were great, but the chorizo and pastor were the standouts for me.
