When my family from Hawaii come to visit, they always want to come to Taco Nazo in Bellflower. This is our choice to satisfy our fish taco cravings. The fish is fresh and flaky and that crispy golden batter is what you love in a Baja fish taco. We also enjoyed a shrimp taco combo. The shrimps are cooked in the same batter and remind you of a sunny day at the playa in Mexico. We decided to also try the mixed ceviche with fish, shrimp, crab and octopus. This was fresh and very delicious. A great mix. The service is friendly and attentive. You can tell the staff are valued and treated well by how engaged they were. What an amazing experience for first time customer. Was introduced by coworker. Advise that this is a popular food chain that I must try out. Upon arrival, the parking lot was pretty busy with cars parked infront and at the back but was able to secure a spot at the back without any wait time. I think they're pretty ballsy with a taqueria on the other side of the street and a Taco Bell right next door to steal all their customers. Their food stays consistent and has excellent service. I went down to place an order and immediately noticed how packed their parking lot was for a Thursday night. I figured they must be doing something right given how busy they were on a weekday. I waited in a moderately sized line for about 15 minutes before ordering. I went with the two-fish taco combo plate, which includes rice and beans. My boyfriend opted for the fish burrito. I also decided to order an extra side of salsa and a side of their signature crema since the cashier mentioned they only give one or two salsas per meal. Our two meals (including drinks) and the extra sauces came out to around $48. After placing my order, I was directed to a designated carry-out seating area where guests wait for their number to be called. The restaurant itself is decently sized and has a vibrant atmosphere. In terms of taste, the tacos were good but they were VERY heavy handed with the salt. I also probably didn't need to order the extra sauces since we already had plenty. I wasn't too fond of their signature cremá as it tasted like a mix of mayonnaise and ranch. Their regular salsa was good, not spicy but flavorful. Overall, I'd rate the tacos a solid 6/10. The rice was a miss, but the beans were good. Nothing mind-blowing, but decent, I could see myself grabbing takeout from here after leaving a bar or something. My boyfriend liked his burrito but also agreed that this place is somewhat overhyped. Overall, not the best fish tacos I've had, but definitely not bad either. I keep hearing about Taco Nazo for a reason! But first, the parking situation is a little confusing. They have a security guard at the entrance of the lot, and you have to stop to let them know if you are there for Taco Nazo. They will direct you on where to park in the lot which gets very full. It's basically one way in and one way out. Once you head inside, there's a line to your right, and then you order at the counter. They'll provide you with a number and direct you to a table to sit at. We got a Three Taco Combo with a fish, shrimp, and potato taco. It also comes with rice, beans, chips, salsa, and a drink (you have to pay extra for an agua fresca). The salsa is their chip salsa, which is really good! My favorite was their World Famous Shrimp Taco! It has light battered and fried shrimp topped with cabbage, onion, tomato, cilantro, and their signature sauce. Their World Famous Fish Taco is basically the same but with fish. Their Taco Dorado is a little different in that it's a crunchy taco with mashed potatoes inside, along with cabbage, onion, cilantro, tomato, cheese, and signature sauce. This combo is definitely super filling! I think next time a Two Taco Combo would be enough food! All of their tacos come with a chile guerito, a pickled and grilled pepper. They also have their Signature Salsa on the table that has a little bit of a kick to it. It looks somewhat similar to their chip salsa but is a little different. (it was also Sunday so completely understandable). There was plenty of parking so we didn't struggle at all getting in. We saw a line by the door and immediately picked up the sense that this place gets pretty busy. This place did an amazing job at making the line go by crazy fast. The beauty of it too is that they have servers going around greeting you and even offering sample trays. There was this guy named Mathias that asked us if it was our first time and even surprised us with a free signature fish taco. They even assisted us with finding a table the moment we paid. The food was extremely time efficient and the environment is so nice. They have a great selection of music, A REALLY GOOD AC UNIT, and the vibe is extremely welcoming. The food was doing so much of the heavy lifting as well. We paid a little under $44 which was for 3 huge fish and shrimp tacos with beans, rice, and chips on the side and a free drink! The management at this establishment is bleak, and the leadership feels nonexistent. I unfortunately had a nasty experience at this place. While eating, I found human hair and other unidentified black particles in my food. It was embedded in the melted cheese on a taco platter. It was plainly gross, to say the least. I called them immediately and explained what happened. The initial conversation was pleasant; the person who answered the call was empathetic and understood the gravity of the situation. They asked me to give them the opportunity to remake the entire order at no cost to me. I asked if I should have some type of confirmation or who I should reach out to. They said my name and order number could be provided to the manager on duty, and they would take care of it. I did not want to go back. My past experiences there have been frustrating, as they are often missing items. The staff seems careless or incredibly overwhelmed. It is a challenge just to get food from there. However, my spouse likes this place, and at her behest, I went back. I asked the staff about the comped order outside, which then turned into being sent inside to speak to someone else. This person was not very articulate and simply stated they could not find any record of the customer service promise. They attempted to send me on my way. I asked to speak to the manager on duty. A very young man came out, probably not older than 20. He was not impolite, but he lacked the words or tools to properly deal with the issue at hand. They essentially implied that I was possibly lying. I had the receipt, the call log, and the notes I took when I spoke with customer service. Despite that, they were unable to help and told me to speak to another manager the next day. At that point, I had enough of this place. I left dumbfounded. I unfortunately had to do a chargeback and opted to file a complaint with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health - Environmental Health Division. I got my money back, but I will never step back into this place. I came here to enjoy myself and have a good time, and this place completely misses that point. The food is great, but I am not convinced they follow proper health and quality standards. I would not recommend it.
