Whiskey Taco Foxtrot was solidly okay. Came in for lunch and it was fairly busy. The food was hit or miss. The queso & chips were yummy. I loved the baja shrimp taco and the birria tacos were good too. The smash burger and rock n rye quesadillas weren't my cup of tea. I do think it's slightly overpriced. We'd consider coming back!

If you're looking for a spot that nails the trifecta of great food, unbeatable happy hour, and a killer bourbon lineup, look no further. This place has happy hour every single day--yes, even weekends--which is reason enough to make it a regular stop. The drink specials are generous, and the vibe is always lively without being overwhelming. Now, let's talk bourbon. The selection is outstanding. Whether you're a casual sipper or a die-hard collector, there's something for everyone. From rare bottles to solid everyday pours, the bar staff knows their stuff and will gladly guide you through the list. But the crown jewel? The rock and rye tacos. These are hands-down the highlight of the menu. Packed with flavor, perfectly balanced spice, and that sweet-savory kick from the rock and rye glaze--they're unlike anything else in town. It's the kind of dish that keeps you coming back and makes you tell all your friends. Bottom line: great drinks, daily deals, and tacos worth dreaming about. What more could you ask for?

Great ambiance, amazing food, fun trivia night! The service was also super friendly and helpful. Will do again soon!

Decided to try this place out and liked that we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view of main street. Our server was friendly and attentive. They had a laminated menu where you could pick flour or corn for your tacos. The chips were pretty good but the salsa was a bit disappointing. Also ordered the ghost pepper margarita and it came in a short glass and did not have much spice. The birra quesadilla was pretty good though the consome was strong with cinnamon. The tacos were better with the corn shells were than the flour. The bang bang shrimp was probably the best. The blackened fish looked good but lack flavor. The chicken taco was also just ok. For the price point I would have expected better. There are better taco spots nearby that I'd rather go back to. Although maybe I didn't try the right tacos?

The food all around is okay, they have a very good cocktail and beer menu and a good set up inside. The service is sometimes slow

Okay, but not fantastic. My first impression was really bad as some woman (not my server) came up and immediately berated me for "seating myself". I informed her there was a sign up front that said to seat yourself. Of course she just looked mad I called her out on her BS and then gave me the most unconvincing "oh, sorry, didn't realize" in response. Our actual server, super nice. Me and my friend each got tacos, which were supposed to be on happy hour special. We had to remind our server about it. We started with chips and salsa; the salsa was definitely from a jar and not homemade but it was fine. I got the chimchurri steak and I loved the sauce, but the steak was a bit over cooked for my personal liking. The rock and the carnitas taco was by far my favorite. The "soft crunchy soft chicken" was okay. Drinks were good. I love the peanut butter old fashioned which I had in the past and wanted to come back to try the food. It was pretty obvious they wanted us out, since our server threw the check down and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. Overall, I'm not impressed. For the price and service, I'll just stick with Imperial.

Visited here recently, & mostly unimpressed. Is it a restaurant? Is it a bar? Bar with food, I think. We ordered chips & queso, which was good but VERY spicy. Chips are the thicker type of tortilla chips. We each ordered a couple of tacos. I got the steak with chimichurri--very little steak & grisly-chewy. Yuck. The other was the Asian chicken, which was pretty good. It's pieces of fried chicken & they were so fried, they were hard to chew. Husband had the Rock & Rye, a slow cooked pork, which he said was delicious. He also had the Asian Chicken. Total bar vibe, they added a stage to the front corner, and they had a private painting class going on in a partially closed off area in the middle. They have gone nights & karaoke. Our server was very attentive & friendly.

We were meeting up with some people and decided to meet here for Cinco. This was my first time here and I was excited to check it out. As you can imagine it was crazy busy. The service was a tad slow but nothing unexpected. We ordered nachos and queso and ate every bite. We got margaritas and just enjoyed our time together. I like the vibe in here. I would absolutely come back!

The inside and outside was decorated head-to-toe in festive lights, ornaments, and wrapping paper. My party and I sat in their igloo outdoor seating which highlighted the festive atmosphere. The igloo seating was easy to book online on Open Table with a max seating of 6 people per igloo. The holiday drink menu for the Jingle pop up had a lot of range. I tried their Santa's Milk & Cookies holiday cocktail, which came in a festive Mrs. Claus' mug. The drink was VERY strong! I ordered the Crisper Chicken Sandwich which had a delicious pesto aioli and sun-dried tomato relish which elevated the sandwich. Yum! Between the decor, themed drinks, great food, and the fun atmosphere, this event was such a great way to kick off the holiday season. If you're thinking about checking out a holiday pop-up, Ale Mary's Jingle is absolutely worth it!

From the moment you arrive, the restaurant feels composed and intentional, guided by a team that understands both rhythm and restraint. The staff are warm and attentive, but it is Manager Justin and the bartender who truly set the cadence of the room. Together, they keep everything moving effortlessly, creating an atmosphere that feels polished yet deeply welcoming. Justin, unmistakably a favorite among locals, guided us toward memorable entrées and desserts with an ease that speaks to both expertise and genuine care. The food unfolds with equal assurance. The cheesesteak sandwhich and fries arrive as elevated comfort--thinly sliced steak, richly seasoned and properly prepared on a delicious bun, paired with truffle fries that are crisp on the outside and tender within. It's indulgent without excess, familiar yet thoughtfully refined. The steak frites follows the same philosophy: a precisely cooked steak, tender and flavorful, accompanied by classic golden fries that feel essential rather than ornamental. A previous visit introduced us to the seared salmon sitting on a bed of succotash, a dish defined by restraint and technical grace. A lightly crisped top gives way to a buttery, beautifully cooked interior--moist, rich, and balanced. It's the kind of preparation that allows the quality of the fish to speak for itself. One standout worth calling out on its own is the succotash. Packed with sweet, tender corn and layered with savory depth, it was vibrant, comforting, and exceptionally well balanced. Simply put, it's the best succotash I've ever had--the kind of side dish that quietly steals the spotlight. Dessert lingers pleasantly in memory. The chocolate chip cookie is everything it should be: warm, softly structured, and deeply comforting without tipping into sweetness overload. Simple, nostalgic, and perfectly judged. The bar experience deserves its own quiet praise. Each visit included a beautifully composed mocktail--balanced, nuanced, and crafted with the same care and intention as any classic cocktail. It's clear that thoughtful drinking, with or without alcohol, is taken seriously here. Note, we also tried a lovely wine the last visit. The interior strikes a graceful balance between hip and classy--sleek, well appointed, and effortlessly current. The dress code follows suit: business casual or casual sleek, whatever feels natural in a space that never tries too hard. Outside, the building reflects Birmingham's historic downtown character, with an early-20th-century commercial façade--clean lines, strong proportions, and timeless detailing--adapted seamlessly for modern dining while honoring its architectural roots. Street parking was plentiful on both visits, likely aided by our later-than-dinner timing. Yelp Tip: Ask for Justin, the Manager who is always there. He is a true gentleman, extremely hospitable, effortlessly keeping the room flowing and the experience elevated from start to finish. Townhouse offers consistency, warmth, and understated excellence in its staff. It's a restaurant that invites return visits--not for novelty, but for the quiet pleasure of ordering something you already know you'll love and the familiar faces you will see. We'll absolutely be back.
