Don't try to compare this place to a sit down restaurant. It is what it is, fast takeout. However, to me, it's better than anything else in town. Taco Bell doesn't stand a chance, and you will never go to a Taco Bell again once you have Taco Tico. I have never been inside, but the drive-through is always fast and courteous, well-designed menu, and affordable. Love this place. read more

I was visiting Wichita after not having been here for a very long time. I saw there were some remaining Taco Tico's and had to revisit my past! The restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the food was just as good as I remember from all those years ago. Have enjoyed Taco Tico since 1972. Tyler and Kellogg location. Biggest Change is The Beans Are too Runny and because of that the burritos are soupy. The food generally cold. Service is good. Dining room is clean. I recommend the Tico Dinner as it contains a marvelous beef enchilada which seems to be the only thing served "hot". Closet Mexican fast food around today similar to the Taco Tico of old is Taco Grande on south Broadway and it does not compare to The Taco Grande of old and Taco Pronto east Central. This is an unfortunate review that I have to post cause this is going to either break or make this location This is a critique as well as a complaint and hopefully it gets the attention of corporate May 24- a normal day of ordering some tacos lead to us discovering that we didn't receive 2 Choco tacos and two tacos were not made according to the order; there after I tried to call and only got the drive thru manager on the phone but couldn't hear me. Throughout the night even during operation hours my phone call to de escalate the situation was ignored. May 25- one of the most troubling experiences I have had ever since "CoVid stay home" which I asked for a manager to resolve the ongoing issue with their phone and to simply get the items we didn't receive refunded with the only receipt I was provided by their business. Let's just say, this is a fundamental issue, where I was practically ignored after attempting to say they didn't answer their phone and manager just gave two choco tacos thinking that it was the appropriate thing to do; he continued to say they are too busy to answer the phone and talk to me whilst the other non manager employees are disregarded by how they handle consumer relations. I'm not quite sure on why it's appropriate to justify the lack of care; when it comes to the duties of a manager, to blame that they are simply too busy making tacos to resolve that it could be a simple mistake and address it when I try to call. There was no need for me to confront a manager for something as mundane as this let alone needed to be told that my needs as someone who already paid for their service and food was not valued. I did not take the choco tacos, whether out of spite or principle. I hope no one has to have this experience of being ridiculed by one who doesn't care of your well-being I will be contacting corporate to provoke an investigation on how consumer relations should be addressed. read more

Of all the Taco tico's in Wichita this has to be the worst one. Tacos and burritos always under filled, ask for sauce and they act like you're stealing from their personal stash, long wait times and attitude from employees every time I visit. I have been eating at taco tico for a couple decades now. My favorite things are the green chili salsa and the fried flour tacos. Someone decided to change the green chili recipe to make it so hot it's burned my mouth and is causing a stomach ache. We took them back and the manager insisted it is supposed to be hot. No way. Not habenero hot. This was almost prank hot. Looking at the salsa there were a lot of red peppers added to the recipe. She replaced them with no salsa. What a disappointment. One of the only reasons I choose this place over any other is now gone. Plus when we called an employee said the manager was too busy and to call back. We stated we'd wait on hold but he said no that we will have to call back. So we just showed up instead. read more

This review is strictly for the quesadillas. Taco Bell has their chicken quesadillas at $4.99 and you'd be lucky if there is enough chicken in there. Taco Tico has them for $4.69 AND you get lettuce, pico, and sour cream. No brainer. Their crunchy taco are also good, but sometimes the shell is not fresh/crunchy, but still $1.19 compared to $2.39 at the Bell. read more
