And you'll get the food quickly from people with smiling not frowning ("I hate this shitty job") faces. I placed an online order at 5:07 p.m. and didn't receive my food until 5:36 p.m., after standing at the counter for over 30 minutes. When I got home, I realized the order--over $70 worth of food--was not prepared correctly. On top of that, the meat didn't taste right at all. It's really sad to see my favorite fast food be so bad at this location. I went at the end of lunch ~3pm. Only one person in front of me. There are 5 adults over the age of 35 working. The only one with "access" was the one working the hardest. She was a saint but definitely needs more competent team members. I got my food in ~10 minutes. Which was just a burrito. By the time I got to my office next door the burrito seemed like it was never warm when I got it, it was so cold. One of my favorite fast foods in the area. I've been here twice and had a good experience both times. The drive thru took a little long but once I ordered, I was able to get my food pretty quickly shortly after. The person taking my order and handing me my food was super friendly. My second visit, I ordered from my app and by the time I got there, I was greeted right away by the friendly staff. The food was already waiting for me, fresh and hot. Well, just like EVERY Taco Time around lunch time.....its busy. Been in line about 20 minutes already and I am still 2 cars back from ordering. Well, I got up to order and nothing. So I waited......and then said hello. A quick apology for the delay and she was off and running with taking my order. She was thorough and reviewed my order. Not long of a wait to the window...... Just a side note: I have been in line now for 30 minutes. Well, I received my order. MILENA went over everything to make sure I had what I ordered. The crisp burrito was hot and crisp, the soft taco was just as it always is. The only thing I found lacking was the tots. They weren't really hot but they weren't cold. Kinda in that spot that if you cooked them at home and they got like this you'd pass but still ok if you had to eat em kind of temperature. So here's my take. Yeah it was a half hour wait. But worth it. Staff were busy and I noticed that she made sure to go over everything at the order speaker AND the window before she handed the food out. So many times this doesn't happen. I gave 4 stars today cause of the wait, though understandable and the semi cold tater tots. Milena was great. And the meal is almost gone. The downfall of this location is the small parking lot and the even harder parking lot to get in and out of. The Drive threw can be tight for larger vehicles. the food, usually fresh and made to order. At times this location under cooks the mexi fries and will skimp on the salt. I usually order the same items each time I come in (2-3 times a week). A #15 chicken, a crunchy taco light beef with extra cheese, and a crisp beef burrito with a side of ranch. Overall, this place is Fresh and Local. They do have that going for them. read more

Let's be clear: this isn't Mexican food. Taco Time was started in the NW during the 1960's, a take on Mexican (which was exotic, like many ethnic foods at the time) - it's fast food. It's more like glorified wraps than ethnic food. Here's why you go - other than your family went here when you were a kid: it's made fresh on the spot and has a lot more quality ingredients than your average fast food. Where else could you get a solid vegetarian fast food option in the 70's? The veggie "soft taco" ($6) is a great no meat wrap and it comes in a whole wheat tortilla (but they recently took out the sunflower seeds - BOOOO!) So you can get a quick wrap ("soft tacos" have lettuce, tomato & sour cream dressing with your choice of filling, "burritos" are well, burritos - your filling wrapped in a tortilla) that tastes good, fresh, no fried stuff & you haven't gone totally unhealthy. Uh, toxic? no. But this IS fast food - so there are fried things as well - crisp, standard tacos, crisp "burritos" ($4-5) that are more like giant "taquitos" (kids love these) and "mexi-fries" - tater tots with seasoning salt. All you have to do is take one look at the "mexi-fries" to know you're nowhere near the border. Bottom line: not really Mexican, a healthier choice for drive through fast food, pricier than most fast food, kids like it - a Northwest standby. I actually read reviews prior to coming here and I am glad I did. If not, I would have been very disappointed. Honestly, it's between 2 to 3 stars but let's just say that if I could choose between Taco Bell and Taco Time, I would choose the former. It's great that Taco Time is a local chain that uses quality ingredients but for the price and portion, it's a no. I was actually still hungry after devouring their food. I have been in the drive-thru for 20 minutes now and have barely moved...so I decided to check the reviews to see if this is a common issue. Turns out it is and there are TONs of reviews about the slow drive thru. I came here to grab dinner on my way to pick up my kid from her gymnastics practice nearby thinking 30 minutes would be more than enough time. It should have been...but I am pretty sure I will be late now and I am blocked in and can't get out now. This is ridiculous...with all these bad reviews why have they not improved? No fast food is worth waiting 30 plus minutes for! UPDATE - Was in the drive-thru for 35 minutes, was late to pick my daughter up, and will never go to this Taco Time again! You hate to see something you've enjoyed in the past struggle so bad. If you sit in the 45 min drive through line, you have a lot of time to recall what makes taco time great, dedication to local products, delicious food... and you just feel sad that this one is no longer capable of delivering the taco time promise. It's hard. But it's time to let this one go. It's obvious the franchise owner does not care about this location. I hope they can find as much energy to do right by the employees as they close down as they had to get the zoning passed on the ridiculous parking lot. I've been eating better and losing weight and taco time is my weekly cheat lunch, but is still rather healthy. On a family outing we decided to get food at Taco Time, however upon ordering we were told that the "Coke" machine was out of order which is understandable but upon going up to the window they were seen pouring soda from a 2 liter that was extremely flat we were not offered a refund for the drink instead they kept it when we said we didn't want the drink.To add to our disappointment we found out that they were using many 2 liter bottles for their soda because their WHOLE machine was broken.. even after all that when we got our food that we purchased for over $30 wasn't very good the meat was cold and the cheese was cold. It was 90 + degrees, and I went into the restaurant with my sons, who is six-year-old, five-year-old, and a baby in their swimming shorts. The restaurant was hot as hell. Alex, who was barking at his employees at the time of our arrival, discriminately and rudely walked to us and asked us to leave because the children were in their swimming shorts. I didn't see any signs that said "no shirt, no shoes, no services." or No swimming wears. We left before they called the cops on us. So I called the restaurant, and Delanie, who self-pronounced herself as a general manager, answered. She immediately backed Alex up and said that it was their policy, which is bs. She wouldn't apologize until I gave a notice of service and stated that I would file a lawsuit and public discrimination with the Washington State Human Rights Commission. We went to another restaurant, and they had no problem with the children dressed like that. DON'T GO HERE. Their foods are terrible. Long wait. I also saw a giant rat. Obviously, California is of a closer proximity to Mexico, so that's why it has what could be considered more authentic Mexican food. In any case, taco time isn't the only source of Mexican fast food anyway so it's stupid to try and pigeonhole northwesterners based on that. This is my favorite "Mexican place up the street." I don't really consider it true Mexican food but it is pretty good. They use top notch ingredients and I find it really tasty. As a wee lad I remember it being a lot faster, but then again I am old enough to remember when fast food was fast. I'm almost scared and nervous to give feedback at this Taco Time. My review is from my Drive Thru experience only. There have been times in the past that my drive thru experience wasn't the best, where my food arrives but the spoon to eat the rice wasn't included or after driving away realizing there was something missing in the order, so after giving the person my order I asked him to please read it back to me, as he didn't offer to doing that and there isn't a screen displaying your order to read. It's customary for Drive thru to read your order back to you AND offer you a receipt. He told me the order back, and when I pulled up to the window he snapped at me! He told me I needed to have a little bit of faith in his getting my order correct! It seriously shocked and scared me! I felt like he was yelling at me, in the way a boss or teacher would reprimand you! I was too shocked to move. His demeanor and attitude meant business! His tattoos up and down his arm symbolized to me, "this guy is someone you do not mess with" and he said it in a way that I was literally scared and nervous. My 10-year-old son saw how the guy yelled at me and my son told me it made him uncomfortable. Now my son's order is the one that usually gets mixed up, which is why I'd asked the guy to read me back my order, so perhaps it was the way I asked him or something that make the guy snap, I have no idea. The drink dispenser was a sticky mess and there was dust and drink spillage from previous customers (I can only guess). Taco Time is a fast food place don't forget that but when it comes to fast food it actually has some pretty "fresh" meals and I know from experience that about 95% of the food is actually fresh, no fillers etc.... My first job and only fast food job was Taco Time back in the early 90's and the only thing that was sketchy was the fillers mix they added to the ground beef, everything else was fresh from a huge refrigerator in the store. I always loved there chicken soft tacos and also the veggie soft tacos and who can go wrong with a side of tater tots, I mean mexi fries! The sour cream ain't that bad either:) This particular location tends to be pretty busy so don't expect to be in and out... remember everything is pretty much made to order except the fried stuff so be patient. If you're in the mood for a quick burrito/Americanized Mexican food without feeling like poop afterwards, this is the place! I've only ever had the veggie soft taco and the veggie classic burrito, but it is always very flavorful, full, and tastes really fresh and not to mention a boat load of guacamole in the classic burrito! Definitely doesn't taste like it's been sitting under a heating lamp for hours on end. *cough* Taco Bell *cough* They are reasonably priced for fresh ingredients, however I always make sure to ask for light ice because 90% of their drinks are ice and I do believe that their tater tots are a bit over priced as well. I mean honestly, potatoes are the cheapest things in the world. But they are DELICIOUS. The only reason for the lack of a star is the absolutely absurd wait time in the drive thru every time I have come through here. Always takes about 10-15 minutes, but they DO make them fresh so it's honestly so worth the wait. Customer service is always phenomenal.
