I have been looking for a good spot for street tacos in Tacoma and gave this spot a try. Walked in, went to the counter, and placed my order. Man hands me a menu and told me to "ignore the prices, that he would give me a deal." Ordered 4 carne asada street tacos and horchata to drink. Went to pay with a credit card and was told if I paid cash I would get a discount. I paid cash and the horchata was $4 and the tacos $12. Tacos were really small, should have ordered more. I liked the fresh tortillas and the tacos were good. I wish they had a salsa bar inside. They handled me a tiny cup of red sauce and one of green sauce. As I polished off my first taco the man stopped by my table with a habanero sauce that I wish I had from the start. That salsa was REALLY GOOD! This place was a decent casual spot for good tacos. I ordered the tacos al pastor. They were fine, edible and filling, but not the best tacos I've had by far. The meat was a little dry and not as flavorful as I had hoped. I also wish there was more cilantro. I got mine to go and the wait was also longer than other restaurants. I probably won't eat here again unless there are no better options available. read more

Speak to you to see if you speak Spanish and when you don't speak Spanish, they just walk away from you and you wait for another five minutes for somebody else to come out who can speak to you.... I paid nine dollars for two of the smallest tacos I've ever gotten from a taco spot, this is absolutely ridiculous. The prices here are outrageous to say the least why are you charging $17 for a burrito??? Not only that, they have a 3.7% discount when you pay cash but then again they turn around and CHARGE YOU FOR YOUR TO GO ORDER, what do you think that charges? After making a big pricing purchase(I bought my latest car the day I came here) and the nervousness and stress of the whole procedure is behind me I do one of two things. I realize I am starving and need to eat or I want to run to craft beer land. In this case I was very hungry and this place sounded great. And I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I got their Las Vegas tacos with asada and loved the additional filling that went with it like the caramelized onions and the queso. Steve had an excellent burrito. Great tasting tacos and very good service. Parking is relatively easy which is always a good thing and makes the whole experience here convenient after a nerve wracking afternoon. We LOVE coming to Los Tapatios! We come in almost every Tuesday because the food is amazing! It's always fresh, the staff is so sooo friendly (they even remember what we all order). Warning for MSG. I woke up with a very bad headache after eating here for dinner (it was delicious). I reached out the next day, and asked if they use it. Someone said that monosodium glutamate is listed in their chicken base ingredients, and that they use in the rice (but I suspect it's in most things chicken etc?). They come with beans and rice. There's even an avocado sauce that is really good. My husband hates avocados, but loves their sauce. I'd pay the 11$ if it was layered, but everything is just piled on top. Smaller place, only 5-6 tables, bar tables and seats. Walk in cooler in the back just...chillin...for everyone to see..(see what I did there?) Just opened and still getting their feet wet I suppose. No real identity yet it feels like. I'll start with the star I took away- the girl at the counter needs to check her attitude. I came on a Saturday evening during the peak dinner hour. There were only 2 people standing there waiting for their orders. When my total came up, I was surprised to see a bunch of $.25 charges so I asked her what that was about. Her response came with instant sass (she must get asked a lot) that it's for each to-go container. I responded with a comment that I think that's weird, especially given Covid and we have no choice but to order to-go. As I'm pulling out my card, she rudely asked me if I still want my order. Yes, I just think it's weird. She told me food would take about 15-20 minutes. I informed her that I was going to wait in my vehicle with my waiting children... which she didn't acknowledge. But whatever. I came back in at the 15 minute point. Sat there for 20 MORE minutes, and then asked if my food was almost ready. She snapped at me that they were super busy (which yes, they were getting more walk ins and more door dashes as I stood there but that is no need for nastiness). I was appalled at her rudeness. She told me it would take less than half of the time that it was taking, and I had kids waiting in the car. If she would've quoted me 30-45 minutes, I wouldn't be annoyed that my food took 40 minutes. At this point, the chef interjected and was polite and apologizing that it was busy and they were trying. He pointed out that they were halfway through currently making my order. I think he needs to give his cashier some lessons on customer service! Now, why am I still giving 4 stars? Because the meat was fantastic! We tried all 5 meats, 4 types in the Street Tacos and carnitas on the fries. I don't even know if I can pick a fave! (Although the AL Pastor could use more than 1 small chunk of pineapple... even 3 or 4 of the size they use would make take the flavor to the top!) We just ordered lunch for pick-up from here today and I am so happy. Ordering was easy and it was practically ready when I got there. I got the al pastor Las Vegas tacos with a side of rice and beans. The sides were pretty standard but those tacos... My Texan heart could cry. It's been tricky to find a taqueria with food that reminds me of home. Our kiddo ate both of his carne asada tacos and all the sides so I think he's a fan, too. We went on a whim. It is close to our home. We both ordered ground beef nachos and grandson order crispy ground beef taco child plate. The gentleman at the register was so friendly and helpful. I was craving for tacos and wanted to try this place cause it's near my home. I was impressed by the food. I ordered 4 asada tacos, 2 carnitas tacos and a side of rice and beans. The meat was juicy and the toppings were fresh and just about the right amount. The corn tortillas tasted like they just made them when I ordered (I assume they're home made). My wife ordered the burrito with asada. We paid an extra $1 for the asada but they loaded the burrito with so much meat. However the burrito was full of the other toppings that the meat wasn't overwhelming. The tortilla was just as good as they were for the tacos. The only negative comment I could say is that it took 25 min for my order. However, the people who work there are very nice and I do love those tacos. Coming from Southern California (LA/OC Area), we've been on a hunt for an authentic Mexican taco place which is very hard to find in Washington since we were so use to these places being behind our backyard. Noticed this place had a sign of "coming soon" and honestly, soon wasn't coming soon enough. Been dying to try this place and it finally opened, and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. Thank you for keeping it authentic! The tacos are amazing and I love the fact that the corn tortillas are thin so that you're not just filling your stomach with tortillas. We go to allot of Mexican restaurants, large and small. This is a small one that I expected the standard fair. First I was quite surprised to see one of my favorite dishes on the small menu: chili rellenos. At this small place? I took a chance and I'm glad I did:SURPRISE! It one of the best I've ever had. I was flabbergasted, but wonderfully so. My partner had the carne asada taco dish AND again, totally awesomely good. Wow. I can't but recommend this place enough. I'd easily would give it 5 Stars, but I need another (well many) visit. Highly recommended. (as an aside it seems to be a family affair. It's always nice to have a community taco spot. This is a great place if you only have an hour to meet friends catch up and grab some tacos and visit. The carne Assad fries are a great share plate. All the street tacos are simple and delicious. I like the Al pastor street taco but I wish they had a little more pineapple chopped up on them. When eating the dish "tacos los Tapatios", it's like eating a extremely juicy fajita taco. They have great flavor and gooey cheese. Get the guacamole This has the potential to become a staple in our community. We did have a order mix up but the staff was on it and went above and beyond to correct it.
