I love eating at Taco Time. Good food, fresh ingredients, fairly healthy if you choose wisely. I've been going there for 50 years. My one star rating is for the Lake City location because it seems they can't properly fill an order! More times than I can remember in the last year they have given me the wrong food (usually a bean burrito instead of beef), missed some ingredients (no chicken in a chicken tostada salad) or just flat not put food in the bag. Tonight it was the drive through, and them completely forgetting an order of mexifries. I live a few miles away. I won't take 30 minutes to backtrack so they can do their job. It wasn't until I went to a different taco time when I realized how sub-par the lake city taco time really is. The tater tots are barely warm and soggy. The tacos that I pay $6 for has barely any meat and the ingredients are not well distributed so each bite is a surprise...mostly tortilla or a mouth full of just lettuce. The employees aren't much better. While a order taker furiously works there are at least 3 others standing around not doing anything but talking about things not work related. They need to step it up. Crispier tots that are hot-tacos that are well made and employees that are able to work well together to create a more pleasant experience. read more

I ordered a classic burrito with no lettuce, and a side of mexi-fries. Well, the burrito arrived with lettuce. And, the mexi-fries had a long, greasy, curly hair mixed in with them. NASTY! Only eat here if you want to die. I was at the counter to place my order. You have an unobstructed view of the food prep area. One of the prep tables has an insert you can remove for cleaning. An employee removed the insert and dropped it on the floor. Then she put it back on the prep table, covering open food containers. I said something about it to the manager, and she said her employee was going to clean the insert. Nothing about the contaminated food nor cleaning the prep table. I have had other issues at this location, and I was going to use a coupon for a free menu item I received from corporate because of the lousy service from my previous visit. Probably the worst Taco Time of all. Super slow service, the staff is not professional at all, and they are constantly messing up orders. They don't greet you when you arrive at the order menu, they don't apologize after waiting in the drive thru for 10+ minutes, they don't apologize when they mess up your order several times, and they show no sense of urgency while they chit chat with their co-workers. I keep hoping it will get better each time I give them another chance (because I do like the food) but they disappoint me every time. read more

Slowest drive-thru I have ever been through. I have been through more than once hoping for a different experience and it's always the same. One of those attempts, I drove through and saw three employees just standing there. I was the only person in the drive-thru and I waited for ten minutes with no explanation for the wait. I love Taco Time, particularly the one in Edmonds. Always great customer service, quick and clean. This one in Lake City is none of those things. I have been twice and won't be returning. Both times the customer service has been deplorable. If you are working with the public, suck it up and be nice -- it's your job. I am always very nice to service workers and today when I said "thank you" with a smile when getting my order I got nothing in return, no smile no "you are welcome" zippo. And that is after waiting 10 minutes in the drive through with only two cars ahead of me. If I could have, I would have driven away but you get trapped and can't leave. The first time I visited I was charged extra for ordering "light beef" on my soft taco. What?! It's sad to see this location offering such a subpar experience. I won't be returning. read more

The service is very very slow. They serve everyone in the drive through first and everyone inside has to wait 20 minutes for their food. When I said there was no sour cream on my tacos, which I made sure there wasn't before asking, the cook got very very sassy to me and rude and claimed that there was sour cream on it. Jesus fuck this place is horrible. I love taco time, and have never ever been to any other location that consistently fucks up every single time like this one. I've been here three times. Two of those times the drive-through order was incorrect, two times I was not given a receipt despite specifically asking. The one time my order was correct - a single serving of mexi fries (I guess they can handle single-item orders without producing the wrong thing, at least) they were so oversalted they were completely inedible. On the same trip I had to practically negotiate away my left arm in order to simply get a printout of my credit card receipt after a very scheisty-feeling situation where my card was taken, the window was shut, the employee Took a good 45 seconds fussing around with the register opening and shutting the drawer twice, did not offer a receipt, and then specifically did not give me the credit card payment one after I asked for it. And of course, a generous waved arm and a "the self service table is over there where you can get your own" when I have the nerve to ask for ketchup packets for what was supposed to be a drive-thru order in the first place. Sigh... But regardless, after having walked in to return the uber-gross fries and seeing the even-more-gross state of the kitchen, including dirty food prep table and open bins of taco and salad shells being kept 3 inches up off the open floor right underneath where the food preparers are putting things together dropping little bits of food, and kicking up whatever just dust or dirt is on the floor, I'm perfectly fine with never returning again, and saving myself a potential bout of food poising. read more

So I've given them time to get over their "just opened" issues and have been back a few more times despite my coworkers constant complaints of messed up orders and my own experiences with how poorly they fulfill the orders. Today was my last trip to this Taco Time. My 2 beef soft tacos were served at colder than room temperature... I don't mean to say that they were not hot... I mean you could have picked up anything else that had been sitting in the building for 10 minutes and it would have been warmer to the touch than my food was. Sadly, I didn't discover this till my food was back across the street to my office. I bit into my beef soft tacos (after I microwaved them) to discover not only were they NOT beef tacos but there were huge chunks of tomato in them. This kid is allergic to tomatoes so you can see how this is an issue. I could have forgiven one mess up on this order but two fairly substantial screw-ups gets them a 1-star review and the lack of my business forever. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. I have been here a few times wasn't so impressed however I stopped by on my way home from work on 01/07/2020 at 5:55PM. I went thru the drive thru and the guy in front of me was ordering a lot of stuff and was asking a million questions. The young man taking orders was so patient with him and got him taken care of. When it was my turn to pay the young man was very courteous and let me know a few times my order was almost ready. I wish that everyplace I went had such a courteous worker. When I got home my food was great. I only took away one star because remnants of other food were in my ranch sauces. Keeping the food prep counter cleaned and changing gloves often can help with that on the food prep side. Try this place again it's way better than when they first opened. read more

Two stars since our service was very friendly. However, our food was unacceptable - we ordered two crisp burritos and both were lukewarm and limp. As in, not crispy. The Mexi-fries were also lukewarm and tasted stale. The boyfriend also ordered a burrito and said the tortilla was peeled off by the wrapping, so that he was left with a very thin layered burrito holding everything in. If I could give zero stars I would! I ordered a simple #3 combo, with NO CHEESE! Which was stated on the screen. After paying and being charged over the amount because he gave me 2 Mexi-fries rather than debating it was my side of choice. I tried to look for cheese but the car behind me was getting super impatient. So I parked and checked and it had cheese. I'm also pregnant and allergic to cheese. I went back through the drive through explained what happened and asked for a replacement and he said they had no more chicken for the day. So I went through and didn't want the beef offered. Got to the window and the employees were really rude asking about my allergy, so I just said I didn't want it and if I could get a refund and the kid said "we can't but we can send your info to corporate" like I'm gonna give out my info to thah rude and lazy of a person and wait for $13?! Don't waste your time. Also the drive through employee was wearing sweat pants and the "manager" had on a uniform. Kinda gross to not be dressed properly for the job at the window. I love Taco Time so my disappoint is enormous that I can not support this one. First the service is just terrible, they are always understaffed. Every time I've gone in there are only two people and the focus is on the drive through not the walk-in customers. On the visit that has me writing this review, I walked in, there was no line but I was told that it would be a 20 minute wait to get food...at 2 in the afternoon! There are a lot of businesses in this area and lots of employees who want to head out for a quick turn-a-round to get lunch without paying the delivery fees that come with Doordash and the like. But at my job as a whole we have agreed that it is just not worth it to try to get lunch at this restaurant. A few months ago a customer of ours tried to get lunch while they were waiting for some service and came back frustrated because in the half hour they had they could no get served. So I sit here today wanting Taco Time, it is the closest restaurant to me - walking distance and I am going to get in my car, drive to Northgate and go to Taco del Mar. My second complaint is the that the restaurant is always too cold and no one bothers to wipe down the tables. There are TV monitors but they don't work. So in summary, not a good restaurant experience, extremely poor customer service (try to get the cashier to smile at you, no way...), frustratingly long wait times and uncomfortable to eat in the restaurant. read more

I have been a here a few times and every single time, it takes forever to get through the Drive-Thru. White chicken chili, new recipe, just plainly uneatable. Big navy beans uncooked. Next fit-hit salad, black beans hard as a rock. I don't think that any of the employees working there were over 16yrs. When I called the young lady over to our table and explained how dissatisfied I was with chili she exchanged it for a different menu item. I than tried to eat my fit-hit salad. The black beans were so hard I could have broken my tooth on them. I once again called her to the table and gave her one of the black beans and asked her to squeeze it and see how hard it was. She was not able to smash it. She just said sorry and walked away. When I saw the construction of the new Taco Time in Lake City I was really excited about it. I grew up in White Center where the first Taco time was built. The food was always of the highest quality. Taco Time has responded and will comp. my wife and I a free meal so I guess that they have done their part. This was my third time here and, like many of the other reviewers here, I expected that they would be past the awkward "we just opened and we're all new stage." I was sorely disappointed. I've done my tour in fast food and spent a decade or so in retail...so I'm completely sympathetic to the stress and challenges a new guy fresh behind the counter can face. THAT BEING SAID...He was grossly undertrained and had not one clue about what was on their menu. He told me they didn't offer chocolate milk (for my kids' meals) in spite of the fact that I was looking right at the chocolate milk on their reader board and I've ordered it before. They had chocolate milk, he just couldn't find it on his till. He should've asked for help. The ordering ordeal took far too long and the order was wrong. I had ordered it to-go (he asked me twice) and it was handed to me for dine-in. The order was wrong, I got the wrong tacos. And *sigh* the mexi fries were cold. Rest assured...I don't like complaining. I enjoy writing positive reviews. But this place is in bad shape which is sad for a new restaurant. read more

I was so excited for a Taco Time to open up near my house! Unfortunately the mexi fries were not crispy at all! They are soggy and oily and falling apart which I've never experienced before! They also forgot to give my friend his crispy bean burrito which he went back for and they gave it to him but still very annoying. And my soft taco was not wrapped well and was extremely messy. I'm hoping the employees are just new and it gets better because I don't really like driving all the way to Wallingford for my Taco Time! read more

This taco time is absolutely the worst one I have ever been to! They did get our order right today though they never have before. The staff is pathetic. Not friendly or quick. The kitchen (that you can see from the drive thru window) is filthy. They guy at the drive thru did not review our order or tell me my total. Handed me dripping sodas then practically threw me a napkin when I asked for one. The food also was cold and terrible. If you normally like taco time go to the one on 45th or to the Kenmore location. Went through the drive through today, while waiting I could look inside and see that they have awesome flat screens with the news on. Also the inside is all new and very up to date, I wish they renovated the older taco times to look like that. The wait was pretty fast considering their new employees, I waited less time (same amount of cars) as I would at other locations. I have read the other reviews about the food being off. That's never happened to me, and I eat here fairly frequently. The food is usually spot on, and I travel some distance to get here as I really like Taco Time's food, and there is no alternative anywhere in northeast Seattle. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the service is unbelievably slow. The drive-through is slow, slow, slow. Slow. I've been in that line many times (I have a kid and it's hassle getting in and out of the car) and I can tell you that the rule of thumb is about 5 minutes per car, and I'm not exaggerating. The service was beyond slow (talking 25 minutes for an order), the order was wrong, and the employees appeared to all be under the influence of marijuana. As a native Washingtonian that has lived out of the area for the last 20 years. Taco Time was one of my favorite fast food chains from childhood so this is one of my first stops when I come into town. Sadly, I was highly disappointed with the service and the quality of the food. All of the food looked like slop once we got it home. The nachos were reheated to a blubbery blob of cheese and meat. They also forgot 2 of my items. The tater tots were ice cold. I returned every item and asked for a refund. I will remove this food chain from my list of favorites and will never return. read more

I was charged for extra cheese which other locations; Kenmore, Kirkland, Issaquah don't. Then the $5.29 taco was so small compared to other locations mentioned above. They didn't seen busy and I watched the girl make my food. But somehow the taco that was supposed to be in the bag was not there when I got home. I called them. She said she saw it do I want to come back. Not now that I'm home. I saw it there. Don't understand how it didn't make it into the bag. This is an example of a new store going down the drain. The employees are stiff and bordering robotic, and the manager is seeming to be lost in her own head. The food a classic chicken burrito and soft fish taco weren't very good at all. The Fish Taco Tasted like something cheap, old, and VERY fishy.
