I have to give Angelo a huge shout out! This young man is the most kind hearted human! We are vegan, and very particular about our order, making sure there is no animal products on our food. He's always so thorough, and triple checks for us before handing it over. Tonight, a young lady passed us the soda, and he asked for my husband's coke back. Confused, I handed it back. He explained he noticed the syrup was low and wanted to make sure we got a fresh soda that wasn't watered down. Most others would've let us drive off without a care in the world. He quickly came back and apologized. I was shocked he was apologizing, because I was so grateful and thankful for him going the extra mile. I complimented him and told him to never stop being so kind! I worked in the service industry for almost 10 years, and I know how difficult it is. People are unforgiving and relentless. I realized something today. I've been to this Taco Time like, 50 times and they NEVER, EVER get my order wrong. I don't check the bag. They state what's in it (after asking if I want hot sauce or ketchup) and I drive away into the night, cradling my recyclable Taco Time bag like the baby I don't have. And I order crazy, too - ask my boyfriend. No beans. Wheat wrap instead. No tomatoes. Add rice. Fat-free sour cream, please. Diet coke with LIGHT ICE. (I am that annoying beyotch who will literally hand the drink back to the drive-through guy if I detect too much ice. I'm paying $2 for a freaking fountain soda that cost you 20 cents - give me my damn soda light ice.) But Taco Time always gets it right. Not always the fastest, but I know this is because they're making this shit fresh, and they're making it RIGHT. It's always busy -- glance inside the lobby during peak times like I do (the eerie creeper that I am) -- they're crawling with families, high school teams, adults like me. Oh and, just for the compulsory review stuff: --Huge Chipolte-sized burritos - BOMB --Crustos - BOMB --Mexi Fries - BOMB (boyfriend is a Taco Bell guy. I made him try The Time and at his first Mexi Fry, he looked at me with his eyes wide. What's better than a crispy beef burrito and tater tots???? When I go to Taco Bell, it always seems to be missing something, maybe tater tots or French fries! So hubby and I were soooo happy to see a Taco Time near us during a recent stay in Seattle. Looking for a really late late night dinner, we went to the drive thru. Ordered four combo meals, totaling $50!!!. OMG!!! What happened to the $1.29 Taco???? Okay, inflation and 30 years later...okay whatever!!! When I got home shaking with anticipation, one combo meal was missing from the bag. Called the store and whoever answered apologized and said I could come back tomorrow to pick up my meal. What???? This Taco Time is my favorite in the West Seattle area. I drive a little further out of my way to go to this one. They have the fancy soda machine here where you can get your choice of 100 different flavors of soda. I also like the fellow patrons. Good people watching while you're having lunch. So it's totally strange that I'm posting a Yelp review on a fast food place but this joint earned a 4 star review! I was here a couple nights ago for the first time to this location. I was massively taken aback by the VERY kind cashier! Wow! She was so nice, I thought for a minute she was hitting on me. Then I realized she was just beyond freaking amazing and loving her job. And I didn't have to repeat anything that I said in the drive thru like I usually have to, over and over, because I have a high pitched voice that seems to not translate well over the intercom. They actually heard me, and they actually got my order right. Food was all quite tasty and fresh, nothing stale or under a heat lamp for hours on end. The right amount of ice in my soda, too. In general, I love Taco Time. Its just about the only fast food I will eat. I usually get a beef soft taco with the mexi fries, a side of ranch and some hot sauce... AKA... flavor sauce. Its bomb. Not hot but some damn good flavor. My other favorites are a crisp bean or beef burrito and a crunchy beef taco. With that said... This location... Every time this older lady is working the window, usually rush hour after work, I never get my full order. One time I was missing 2 mexi fries and a crisp bean burrito. Eat atleast once a week. Drive thru mostly. My grip is they always get me order wrong. Today I asked for corn tortilla for coconut shrimp combo and the person who was taking my order said it is corn tortilla even though the description says soft flour tortilla. After confirming verbally that I will get corn tortilla I paid and got my order. Came home and it was made with flour tortilla. Thank God I don't have wheat allergy or else I would be in trouble. One time I paid for corn chowder and never got it. Other time tacos were missing from my order. I have decided not to go there anymore. I can always go somewhere else. Where to begin. The food here is bland, flavorless, small and overpriced. Price/food ratio aside, the sheer blandness of the food is so apparent. It makes me question the taste palette of those giving this place five stars. We ordered a chicken burrito combo, a veggie burrito and Mexican fries - a whopping $22+ meal. A big no no is calling tater tots, yes literally tots, Mexican fries. C'mon, they were flavorless potatoes from a store brand/Safeway equivalent. The chicken tasted processed and again flavorless. The veggie burrito lacked vegetables, go figure. I rather eat processed Taco Bell or del Taco than this "healthy" alternative. Drive through service wait time was moderate (10-15 mins on a weekday night). The service it self I would give 5 stars. Sorry, we really wanted to like this place. I always stop here for a yummy healthy cilantro lime chicken salad for lunch on my way to or from job sites. I don't use the cilantro lime dressing but a mix of their hot sauce and ranch. The location on 164th St SW in Lynnwood can't make this salad as tasty. Something about the smaller amount of grisly chicken, wilty lettuce and hohum service. This is hard to do as I really like the staff and food here. However it's gotten to the point where I drive by it and can't help but notice how LONG the drive through line is. I realize this is a first world problem but it's gotten to the point where the drive through line is so long that you can't get into the parking lot (no kidding it wraps around the building). I even sent the GM a note asking if he's considered looking at his drive through staffing model. He was nice and replied but yea it's not changed. I timed the drive through one day at 18 minutes (not to be exact). Like I say yes you can go inside and get a beef burrito in 3 minutes IF you can actually park in the parking lot. The drive through is actually that long so you can get into the parking lot from 35th Ave. So just for a sanity check I've driven to the Rainier Ave store and the White Center store to compare. It's half the time to get food and you can actually get into the parking lot and park and go inside if the drive through line is long. I also noticed they raised prices about 10% in January 2017. The White Center store did not raise prices. The server said it's about the minimum wage being raised to $15 an hour? This store has the best food and the staff is super friendly but the logistics have taken it off my weekly Taco Time stop (and I live 1 mile away). Whelp, looks like I'm gonna write a yelp review for a fast food restaurant. Why? Well, the wife and I have made an executive decision and good ol' West Seattle Taco Time is our go-to "don't wanna make dinner but wanna eat at home and watch netflix" spot, which means we're there with some regularity. The food is legit business. But duh, right? Everything is fresh and sooooo not greasy at all. Heck, we even run the risk of being "those guys" in the drive thru and order the sweet potato mexi-fries, knowing it'll take longer, because they're so damn freshy delicious. But what really blows our minds is the staff there. In our darker days, when we'd midnight run to Jack in the Box, we always felt like we were the biggest inconvenience to the poor sap who was stuck working drive thru graveyard. But not at WSTT. Every single employee we've had hand us our delicious food has been impossibly kind and friendly and deals with our requests for "a couple more things of salsa" with grace and awesomeness. On top of that, they've got a drive-thru line that is winding absolutely haphazardly through the parking lot with no end in sight, and they just keep hitting us with big smiles. The last time I went through I couldn't even get to the drive-thru, there were so many cars jamming up the lot. So I went inside for the first time. Uhhh. LISTEN TO ME, DRIVE-THRU ONLY CUSTOMERS: The soda machine in the lobby is amaaaaazing. There are about 1200 different options in a TOUCH SCREEN soda fountain. Mindblown. Oh right, the last time I went through... Service was slow-ish. Probably related to that huge line of cars. After I fiddled with the magic drink dispenser for a bit, the manager came out with my to-go order and was, as the rest of the staff there, SO awesome and friendly and "thank you so much for coming in!" that I immediately forgot I'd been waiting a bit. Plus, at this particular location, the store is always super clean. The employees have always been very helpful and friendly. I can't get enough of the crispy beef burritos. Ate them growing up in the Northwest then moved to the Bay Area where to my dismay, I found that they had no locations. So when I moved back to Seattle recently, particularly in West Seattle, I was happy to once again indulge my taste buds with those crispy beef burritos. The Taco Time on 35th in West Seattle is by far my favorite Taco Time. I've been to the one in Whitecenter which is just as close to my house as the one on 35th but the reason I prefer the one in West Seattle is the service. Kenny was extremely friendly behind the register and when I ordered a medium drink, he reminded me that there were free refills. Thanks Kenny! He also reminded me that sides of sour cream are also free. Besides Kenny look in' out for my best interests, he and the other gentleman that brought my order out provided exceptional service. I don't mean the kind of textbook robot like kind of service, I mean they were down to earth, genuine good people that you could easy have conversation with. Other previous visits have been just as good and from what I've observed, there are usually a few patrons that seem to enjoy this Taco Time just as much as I do. The quality of food is what you would expect from Taco Time but the service here is what sets them apart from the others. Time for another crispy beef burrito! read more

I was disheartened to see the 100-button pop dispenser though - service is slow enough here that the "lobby" area is often crowded, so this ooh-wow gadget is sure to exacerbate the problem. I guess this is supposed to be like the Taco Bell of the PNW? I was kind of excited to try this place, but in the end was just disappointed. They locally source their ingredients which is great. The first time I tried this place, I ordered a fish taco and a shrimp taco (the shrimp taco was like a special limited time item) - both soft tacos, and both just ok. I also had the mexi-fries, which are just tater tots. Tater tots are always good, so these were tasty, but they're just tater tots. On my second visit, I ordered a soft beef taco and a soft chicken taco. Both of these looked more like mini burritos. And they also tasted like tacos from Taco Bell. And there was so much iceberg lettuce. They have soft tacos, and crispy tacos, and burritos and crispy burritos, taco salad, and soups too. The food isn't terrible, but it's not really worth the calories. The food is two star at best, The staff was really nice but the first time I visited my food took forever. read more

Perfect for family dining. I love the staff here -- friendly and helpful, and they never bat an eye at my four-year-old's bizarre request to have his quesadilla served deconstructed and uncooked. The food here is clearly fresh and yet super fast. It is a winner over typical fast food, but fortunately for us, the atmosphere is similar, considering we have two little kids. Speaking of which, the kids meals are a really good deal. The only bummer is the supa cool new soda machine they installed that tempts my preschooler away from the milk and over to the grape Hi-C. He loves the color but not the taste, so he just drinks mine instead (half cherry vanilla Pibb Zero and half raspberry Caffeine-Free Diet Coke, because I can). Good thing there are free refills. I love the surprisingly filling Crisp Burrito (those crunchy ends are to die for), the gooey, cheesy goodness of the Soft Burrito, the crisp veggies in the Veggie Taco, the sauce of the Enchilada Platter, and the yummy combination of light lettuce and flaky shell of the Tostado Salad. My husband tells me the Fish Taco is unsurpassed, so I'll take his word for that. Is it clear that we eat here too often? I don't care -- it's inexpensive, fresh, and filling (oh, so filling), and no one gets mad at us when the floor underneath our booth gets strewn with cheese shreds. read more

Several times my order has been wrong in the drive thru. And a couple times I didn't get everything I paid for. I wrote in a concern to corporate about my disappointment. I received an email of apology from a Amy | Guest Relations Coordinator the very next day apologizing and said she would love to make it right by either crediting my app account or sending something to my home address. I provided her with both. Annnnnddd......NOTHING!!! I emailed her back and got NO response. It's now been three weeks and STILL NOTHING! At first I was impressed with the quick response but then NO follow up on promises or emails. VERY POOR customer service. Hopefully they do what is right. Absolutely horrific experience!! What was going to be an excellent review I was going to write up b/c of Tracy a week earlier (which is why people always need to be consistent in their service) when my husband and I dined in...turned into a horrific experience when I went through the drive through. When I went through the drive through, I kept saying I wanted the large beef burrito and that is all I wanted. I said it several times. Then, SEVERAL TIMES, IN A VERY ABUSIVE, NASTY AND NEGATIVE TONE, she said, "So, you are saying you want the meal then with a drink?" and I said, "No, I want the beef burrito." And she said, "Oh". LONG PAUSE. Then, she got on and said, "Well, ma'am, if you are going to say you want the burrito then you need to say if you want the meal." And I said, in a NICE TONE, "I have repeatedly said that I want the BURRITO NOT THE MEAL." And she said,"Okay, do you want a drink?" and I said, "No", and she said, "Why?" and I said, "Can I just get the beef burrito?" and then I asked for a Manager and I said I was concerned about the service, but she told me to pull through. When I pulled through, and I waited so long, for SEVERAL MINUTES, that i had to turn my car off. When i finally pulled up, a bully millennial named Sam, who was young enough to be my grandchild, started acting like she wanted to fight me by snapping her fingers in my face and said, "Well, b/c you were not clear and you complained about me, I did not order that food for you so you are going to have to wait." So, I said, "So, after waiting, my food is not ready?", and she said proudly, with a very STRONG, NEGATIVE, ABUSIVE ATTITUDE, "THAT IS RIGHT!" while her little millennial friends laughed at me. I asked for a Manager, and she said, "Does that mean you want to talk to one?", and being the more classy one, I smile, and said, "Yes." So, the manager was Tracy. A week ago, Tracy was nice to my husband and I dining in. She recognized me. She said, "Oh, hiiii!" seeming shocked that it was me and sensed there was a problem. Instead of asking her employee to leave so that she could hear me out, she let her abusive employee, Sam, (the angry, wanna be gangsta millennial) yell and cuss at me. And I said, "All I wanted was to be spoken to with respect and I am just trying to know why my food is not ordered." And Tracy said, "Well, I am not going to have my employees treated with disrespect", and I told her I was not, and that I would really appreciate if a really ugly on the inside employee could move away so that I could talk to Tracy one on one, but then Tracy ganged up on me WITH her. So I left. What a horrific experience. One that I NEVER HOPE happens to anyone again. They were my neighborhood Taco Time. They lost my business forever. Instead of apologizing to me for the experience, offering me a coupon, I was demeaned and degraded as a woman and a person and heard them calling me names. I am angry and I feel violated, so say the very least. I hope they get new management. I hope that this all changes soon, but I will not be there to see the changes. As far as fast food joints go, this Taco Time is friendly and super clean. The manager even made a point of saying good-bye to us on the way out. How often does that happen?! Also I love a place that serves cripsy tater tots! and their newest addition of the multi-flavor fountain soda machine! *gasp* It's not your regular, "hmmm, I'll mix orange Fanta with Barg's root beer and Sprite with a splash of coke" kind of machine. There's several flavors under each soda. Push Coke and 4-5 options of flavors pop up. Choose Fanta and again, more flavors to choose from. My husband has been waiting for our dinner inside the restaurant for 30 minutes. You can't possibly call that fast food! He's asked about our order twice, someone goes to check on it, and never returns. We're full time working parents and cannot dedicate 45 minutes away from our daughter to pick up this "fast" food.
