    Where's the beef??
    Brian A.

Clean and friendly. Environmentally committed. But food quality not very good. Tastes cheap, and beef is really gross. Also, portion sizes weak. Look at picture. Do you see the beef? I don't. Was a nice soft taco salad I guess, only a teaspoon of beef.

The service was prompt and friendly. It took us a bit to look over the menu, but ultimately decided on asada tacos and the Jalisco Philly, with a side of the trio dip. To start all of the dips were delicious. Putting them all on one chip was the way to go. Both of our mains were great. The Philly with the consume was juicy and very flavorful even down to the bread. The Brussel sprouts that came with it(for a small up charge ) were some of the best Brussel sprouts I've had in quite some time. The white salad was good but needed some cojita cheese. All in all we had a great experience, the only thing that fell short were the Margaritas. First I had the jalapeño and cucumber marg, which was alright. No real spice and not much flavor other than the sweet and sour. The second margarita I ordered was the basil (I don't remember what it was called but it said they won best of in 2025 for it) and I added jalapeño to it. Slightly more flavor but nothing that jumped out at me. While the food was great, I had my heart set on a really good spicy margarita, but it came up a bit short. Though I know that we will be back there again for a meal, and the brunch menu looked like something that we were looking into to have soon!

We went while they were serving breakfast/brunch/lunch and they have a fun selection of American and Mexican breakfast favorites. Started off with free chips, salsa and beans which is rare these days. The salsa and beans together were delicious. For our main course. we went with the chilaquiles and the chicken taquitos. The chilaquiles came in verde sauce and were huge and nicely crispy with onions and cojita and a big side of beans and eggs. Taquitos seemed freshly made and were also crunchy with a satisfying amount of chicken. We also got a house margarita and a sangria - both were fine but definitely from a mix so a bit too sweet. Would probably spend a bit more and order something different next time. Service was friendly and quick and there was a ton of space in the restaurant.

We'd heard the portions were huge, so we skipped appetizers and stuck to just main courses. We even skipped the kids' menu for our 8-year-old. The portions truly are massive--especially since we hadn't eaten breakfast, two entrées were more than enough for the three of us. We ordered the Enchiladas Suizas and an enchilada and taco combo. I prefer grilled chicken over shredded chicken for enchiladas, and they were happy to accommodate the substitution, which I appreciated. The service was super quick - we got our food within 10mins or so. Food-wise, it was fairly average. The rice was actually the highlight for me, but everything else was just okay--nothing that really stood out or wowed us. Overall, it's a decent option if you're nearby and very hungry, but not a place I'd go out of my way to visit.

The restaurant wasn't packed, but there were a lot of people sitting out on the patio since it was a nice day. I put in a request for a patio seating (called and double checked it is dog friendly out on the patio). They place us in a good spot that had enough space for my dog, which was nice with them. We checked in for our reservation and got seated right-away. My group ordered a Margarita, chips, guacamole and salsa to start. We also ordered the Smashburger taco to try and the Quesabirria. The Quesabirria came out hot. The consommé for the dipping was very flavorful. The entrée came with three Quesabirria. Definitely be a good entrée to split with another person as it is heavy. For the Smashburger taco, that was on the special menu. It was pretty good as well.

Plus, there was a raffle for a hotel stay and a restaurant gift card. We came within a couple numbers of winning the prize! The first drink was free and I had the Paloma which ended up being my fave. I also had the Classic Marg and the Blood Orange Marg. The best part was the taco bar which had a meatball with a sauce, Taquitos, Elote Corn on the cob, and fresh corn tortillas with a nice beef and veggie filling options. They also had cilantro, green salsa, etc to top off the tacos. I enjoyed the food greatly and the beach party was a fun way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon with a bunch of snow on the ground. This time, I made reservation although was a bit turned off by having to reserve with a credit card and must cancel "up to 1 day before the time of the reservation. You can always transfer your reservation to another person." No-show or late cancellation is subject to $10 fee per person. I get why they have to do this, but instead, like other establishments, they could have a disclaimer saying if you're 15 minutes late, they'll release your reservation. Judging from how busy they got, I don't think they would have had a hard time filling a table of a "no show" reservation. When all the tables are filled, noise level is a bit loud, but still manage to hear our conversation. They played great background music too! We tried a couple from their fresh sheet/seasonal menu: - Peach Pintxo - 21 acres peaches, jamon iberico, cypress grove fromage blanc tarte by heritage baguette. They were good, but nothing to rave about. I think I would've liked to taste the sweetness of the peach against the saltiness of the iberico, but the peach overpowered the taste of the ham. - Roasted Carrots - blue glass farms carrots, crushed marcona almonds, za'atar kefir, hot honey glaze. The roasted carrots were surprisingly DELICIOUS! I didn't think roasted carrots were worth going on and on about, but they were nicely cooked (not too soggy, had a nice firmness to them), and very flavorful! If this is still on the menu, I highly recommend! From their regular menu, we had: - Lamb Rib Chops - romesco, pea puree, mint (3 pcs) -- we were told the lamb was in the mint marinade for 24 hours. The meat was very tender and very flavorful! I highly recommend this dish. - Tortilla de Patata - spanish "omelet", walla walla onion, pimenton aoli (a valdemar family recipe). If you like walla wall onions, you'll like this dish. It had the sweetness of the onion. For drinks: Barrell of Monkeys - rhum barbencourt, russel's reserve rye giffard banana, hazelnut orgeat amontillado syrup, lemon -- this cocktail is delicious! You definitely taste the banana flavor. Cantaloupe mule - mocktail -- a bit disappointed, it was very tart and I didn't taste the cantaloupe at all. It was more of a lime juice. I did ask our server to make it a tad sweeter, but it got too sweet. Lesson learned...stick to alcoholic drinks! LOL!
