Wonderful spot right on Orange Turnpike! The portions are generous and flavorful, and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend Taco Tpke for getting your taco fix in Rockland County. FYI - there is limited seating, so while you *can* dine in, you may want a take-out contingency plan just in case it's busy.

Taco TPKE brings all the authentic Mexican flavors to Rockland County. The Birria tacos are a must as well as the Al pastor and burritos. Got the Mexican street corn and chips and guacamole. Fresh beautiful flavors! Great for to-go meals...The space is small for seating and parking but they have plans for expanding soon!

The best $14 road trip surprise find! Three delicious fresh & authentic tacos. I especially loved the fish taco, but the mushroom and pork tacos were also excellent! What's beautifully clean place with a terrific staff. If I lived in this little town, I'd eat here often! I love the outside seating area.

TLDR: Yes! Authentic, fresh Mexican street tacos in ...Sloatsburg? What's happening in this sleepy hamlet? I haven't lived here long enough to know why we have so many good casual restaurants but coming from Southern California, I've been here long enough to long for the fresh, authentic Mexican street tacos. Served on double layered 4" soft tortillas, a variety of great tasting fillings and freshly sliced toppings the tacos are nearly the best I've had anywhere. Nothing about the restaurant screams Mexican food but it is very clean with a nice decor and a small outdoor patio. Indoor seating is also available. Counter service and seat yourself. I had "Hook me up" 3 pack and chose the Al Pastor (pork), the Pescado (fish) and the Camarones (shrimp). All three were delicious l, the Al Pator being my favorite; served nicely with a wedge of fresh pineapple on top, )to aid with digestion.) next I liked the fish, lightly breaded and not overcooked. Last the shrimp was very good and enjoyable. But I prefer without cheese. I could see they used fresh shrimp so next time I would try grilled without cheese. Fresh sliced limes and a bag of chips. Got a cup of Elote Mexican street corn to go so can't opine on that but anxious to try it. As soon as I walked in and saw Jarritos in the cooler I knew it would be a great place! Save the trip to Mexico and get here before they hit their stride!

I will copy and paste this review across the Park Ridge and Mahwah locations so emphasize my appreciate for their consistency in providing great Mexican food. If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.

I took the train up one day, but unfortunately I didn't revisit the town for another 17 years. My Mexican House was a random stop that turned out to be great. I've always been into tacos and in recent years gained a nearly dangerous fascination with cemitas, and a result I may have missed out on many great Mexican entrees over the years. In the chuleta a la diabla, the pork chops were perfectly done and the sauce was an awesome incendiary concoction somewhat like mole. The chips were warm and fresh, the salsa was zingy and the service was outstanding.

We immediately ordered four margaritas, which were good, just not the best ones I've ever had. For appetizers we all split the cheese empanadas, which were actually pretty amazing in my opinion. The portions were pretty generous, so all of us were able to have about 1.5 empanadas. The empanadas were served with red and green sauce, the red sauce is SPICY so be aware! For main course, I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga which I LOVED. It was so good and it tasted freshly made. Overall, was very happy with my experience here. Its not the fanciest restaurant but it was perfect for national margarita day!
