I think the cheese melted away in the process of deep frying . There weren't many people ahead of us, so our order was ready in about 5 mins. Awesome! This place is GOOD! We happen to drive by on our way shopping; and I noticed a small group of maybe 6 people standing around this old food stand. The vintage building with TACO TREAT sign is eye catching. I told my passengers , on the way back , we're stopping there. So we did.... I'm glad we did. I hadnt been to a place where the burritos were only deep fried making them "chimichanga's" and the meat only groundbeef; making it delicious! If you're in the area ... THIS IS A MUST TRY! Great food, but don't expect it to authentic! Fried Beef and Cheese Burrito (4.5/5) - Unhealthy, but delicious and creative. Pretty cheap for its size too. I will definitely come back for this. Side note: This is how I imagined a bufriedo when I read Looking For Alaska. Taquitos (3/5) - Not really worth its price. I wouldn't be surprised if they're deep fried taquitos from Costco. Chili Cheese Fries (4.5/5) - Huge portion, also delicious. The fries are fresh and crunchy with layers of chili, cheese, and minced onions (you can ask for no onions if you'd like). Orange Bang Drink (4.5/5) - I drank this all the time as a child. I'm so glad I found another place that serves this. My go to hard taco spot is Taco Lita but they are closed on Sundays. Decent sized parking lot. Walk up ordering only. No indoor seating. Cash only. Monday and Tuesday they have promo deals. Service was super friendly and nice. Bean & Cheese Burrito - $3.40 - I hate beans but I loved this bean & cheese burrito. Something so simple but made really well. Good combo of beans and cheese where one did not over power the other. They are made chimichanga style, deep fried perfectly and not oily. Huge burrito for the price. Taco - $2.35 - Probably the nicest packed taco I have had. Each layer was so nicely stacked. Very good ratio of each topping. Meat at flavorful. Very thick taco. Again, simple but made perfectly. If you have a fried food craving, if you're ever in the area, you stop in at this place right here. My best friend had finally said, let's stop here for a byte. I told him, I lived in this area since I was in high school, I had no inclination to stop here what so ever. He then replied, now we really have to stop here. I ordered the regular tacos where it's the hard shell with loads of cheese. Fairly quick turn around so you don't have to wait too long. Tables to the side so you can stuff your face. Simply put, the food is great. My wife and I have gone there twice. The first time was good. The second time (just yesterday)was a whole different ball game. I don't know if it was my tattoos or my Trump hat, but after we ordered, we were told to wait about 10 minutes. When I went to the pickup window (15 minutes later), they asked, "2 burritos, right?" I replied, "No, 2 taco salads, remember?!?" Then I went back to my car and waited another 10 minutes. This place is an icon in the area. No frills place. It's a large shack with plenty of parking. From what I hear they've been serving their American Mexican food for decades. I admit for years I drove past this place without a second thought and finally stopped in to try and glad I did. They have an amazing bean and cheese burrito. It's huge. Like over a foot long and fried perfectly. Now be warned that burrito captures and retains the heat. So eat slowly lest you get burned. It stays warm til about the last bite. I'm ambivalent about this place. While the food had flavor, I was under-whelmed by what I pulled out of the bag! The taco was a pile of grease- saturated right through the ENTIRE wrapper AND taco shell. There was NO crunch to the taco shell at all. Had to use a spoon.
