Inflation. Look at prices 9 years ago...

Who doesn't love a deep-fried bean and cheese burrito? It may be different from the norm, but it's worth every bite. I've been coming to Taco Treat since the 1970s, starting at the South Pasadena location. After that location closed, I began visiting the Arcadia location, and it's still just as good as I remember. Some people call these chimichangas, but to me they'll always be Taco Treat burritos. Like everything else, prices have gone up over the years, but the flavor has remained the same. If you've never had one, I highly recommend giving it a try. Even better, they're on sale every Tuesday. Absolutely would recommend to friends and family.

Old school since 1969. I was in the area and was craving a hard shell taco but when I got there I changed my mind and ordered the deep fried bean & cheese burrito. It was busy for a Saturday and customers were getting a little impatient. If you are looking for a different twist on gringo style Mexican food this place is worth a visit and the prices are so reasonable. Plus they had t-shirts for sale so I had to buy one for 20 bucks.

I met one of my best friends at Taco Treat the other day. There was a Taco Treat by our high school, and we used to walk there for lunch almost every day. We loved their deep fried Bean & Cheese Burritos. We've met at this location a few times, but I never wrote a review. We ordered a Bean & Cheese Burrito and a Green Chile Burrito. We asked if they could cut each burrito in half so we could share. The Bean & Cheese Burrito was just as good as it was 40 years ago! We also really liked the Green Chile Burrito. They have two benches outside where you can sit. One table has an umbrella for shade. They are CASH ONLY! If you haven't been here, make sure to check them out if you are in the area. They are delicious!

Long before I knew what a chimichanga was Taco Treat was making their iconic fried burritos, bean and cheese, beef and bean and beef only. Their tacos are ground beef hard shell and fun to eat. I have been eating here as far back as I can remember, every night after a racing event at the original Irwindale Racetrack, we would meet to hang out and eat great food. My favorites are the Bean and Cheese burrito and tacos, they make great chile (a must have on a cold night) and if you want to make your own tacos at home they sell fried fresh daily taco shells by the half and full dozen. Their hot sauce is bold and tangy but not overly hot or spicy, just enough to complement the food. They are a cash only business and the nearest ATM is down the street at the supermarket...JB

The food here is phenomenal! We are obsessed with the tacos and burritos, be sure to ask for extra salsa as it is delicious as well! Prices are very fair, the food is made to order quickly, and the portions are generous. They have a small parking lot and a couple of benches for outside seating, also packaged well to go. I am so glad to see that old school places like this are still around, if I lived closer, I would be here all the time, highly recommended!

Taco Treat is one of those rare gems that's been holding it down for decades -- the kind of old-school spot that reminds you what real neighborhood food feels like. Tucked on the corner of Live Oak, this tiny walk-up stand has been serving up the same simple, delicious comfort food for generations, and it's still as good as ever. Everything about this place feels nostalgic -- from the hand-painted signs and "Cash Only" window to the smell of grilled burgers and fresh tortillas as you walk up. The bean & cheese burrito is a local favorite (simple but perfect), and the green chile burrito has that old-school SoCal flavor that's hard to find anymore. Their taco burger and chili cheese fries are next-level if you're craving something hearty. The prices are fair, the food portions are generous, and the service is always friendly and fast. It's the kind of place that hasn't changed much over the years -- and that's exactly what makes it special. If you grew up in the area, Taco Treat is part of your memories. And if you're new here, it's a piece of local history worth tasting. 74 E Live Oak Ave, Arcadia, CA Cash only -- bring bills! -try: Green Chile Burrito, Taco, Homemade salsa Basic but good for the price

One of the best bean burritos around. They are deep fried so of course that makes it even better. It's full of cheese so it's best eaten warm when the cheese is nice and gooey. We have also ordered the hamburger combo, tostada salad as well as onion rings. The onion rings were always a little too salty for me. The hamburger tasted good but the tostado for us was just ok. They only take cash. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating provide an opportunity to eat that warm burrito right away. No inside seating. Staff is friendly but the food takes a bit of time so be prepared.

You cant miss the Taco Treat sign and this one of a kind gem has the most delicious, deep fried burritos! It's small walk up window, and it's CASH ONLY. You place an order with the window, they make your order, you wait about 10-20 minutes, and they will call you by your order... and then you pay with the cashier. The bean and cheese burrito and their green chili burrito are flaky, flavorful and unforgettable. The burritos are deep fried, and they are my top favorite items here!! I grab one of each and fill up! The tacos are very simple - ground beef, lettuce, cheese. You can ask for a red salsa, it's good with everything! You can eat on site, at their picnic tables or take To-Go. They leave the bag open to preserve the freshness of the burritos, giving it that irresistibly chewy bite.

What I Ordered: -Fried Bean and Cheese Burrito $4.15 Pro Tip: There's a Special on Monday + Tuesdays where you can get a Bean Burrito for $3.80 or a Tostadas for $6.45. I've passed by Taco Treat several times and I finally had the opportunity to stop in for one of their famous Fried Bean and Cheese Burritos. I will be honest I'm not always a fan of a Bean and Cheese Burritos, but as they say frying something will make anything taste good. I won't be so harsh on the Bean and Cheese Burrito because it really hit the spot and blew away my expectations. They make them to order! Be prepared to wait awhile for your food especially when they're busy. Good things in life are worth the wait and Taco Treat's Fried Bean and Cheese Burrito is worth the wait! I loved how goey their cheese was (Obviously - I know). The Fried Bean and Cheese Burrito has a nice crunch to it. The red salsa wasn't overly spicy, but it had a nice peppery taste to it. I will definitely be back for one of those Fried Bean and Cheese Burritos! Taco Treat has converted me over to Bean and Cheese Burritos.

Ordered at the window, the lady who took our order was friendly and answered the questions we had. We ordered the chile verde burrito, that tasted good and was good ground beef. We liked the bean and cheese burrito a little more it has a good cheese pull. The taco shop has a couple benches to eat around that were clean and decent amount of parking available. It was a nice day outside not too hot, Taco Treat is cash only. So bring out the Benjamin's :)

Been coming here for years. Pick-up orders for me only. Can't beat the bean and cheese burritos (chimichangas), the tacos are good and I've had the tostadas huuuge. Definitely way better then Taco Lita. This my go-to spot for white people mexican food lol. Service is good and the food is fresh..

    Do they have potato tacos?

No, I don't remember seeing those on the menu but you can ask to make them for you. Maybe they will.

Do they now accept debit/credit and Apple Pay?

    Cash only.

Do you cook with lard and deep fried burrito on lard?

I believe they deep fry it in oil. If that indeed, is what you are asking.

I'd never been before, but I'd been wanting to try it for a long time. As soon as I walked in, I noticed two ordering kiosks with people waiting in line. Before I could even figure out what to do, a young lady with the biggest smile greeted me and asked if she could help. Her name was Patty. I told her it was my first visit, and she patiently explained the menu, especially the different spice levels. Since I enjoy spicy food, I confidently ordered the Hot level. Looking back... I may have been a little overconfident! When my food was ready, Patty brought it to my table with the same genuine smile she greeted me with. The food looked incredible, and the chicken was juicy and delicious--but after a few bites, I realized the Hot level was hotter than I had imagined. I laughed to myself and thought, "Next time, I'm definitely ordering one level lower." A few minutes later, Patty came back to check on me because it was my first visit. I told her the food was great, but I'd overestimated my spice tolerance. Without hesitation she said, "I'll change it for you." I immediately told her, "No, it's okay. I don't want you to waste food." She smiled and replied, "I want you to enjoy it." That simple statement really impressed me. In today's world, you don't hear that very often. It reminded me of something I had just read about Dave's Hot Chicken--"Keep us honest." Patty truly lived that philosophy. She wasn't just serving food; she genuinely wanted my first experience to be a great one. The food was excellent, but Patty's kindness and customer service made the experience memorable. That's the kind of employee every business hopes to have. I'll definitely be back--and hopefully Patty will be there again. Thank you, Patty, for making my first visit such a great one. You turned a first-time customer into a returning one.

It's really heavy though; one piece is practically equivalent to a regular adult's entire meal's worth of calories lol. The orange crème slusher was also really delicious and is pretty much orange bang on roids.

My family was craving a breakfast burrito so I brought them here, because they serve breakfast items all day. I noticed they had a grill with open flames and thought their burgers must have that nice smoky charred taste, so I got a pastrami cheeseburger. The breakfast burritos were both good and filling, but there was nothing about it that stood out over some of the other burger spots around Monrovia. The pastrami cheeseburger unfortunately had no charred flavor at all. It didn't even have any grill marks, so I'm not sure what the open flame was reserved for. What tasted like thousand island dressing overpowered the beef and pastrami, so I mostly tasted the sweet sauce. Well, we got what we were craving, but I was left disappointed. That's just me expecting too much from a $11. burger, from a place that has the same name as me, and the word 'Burger' in its name.

They don't always seem to be in much of a hurry to keep the line moving. Sometimes, an employee will suddenly walk into the kitchen while customers are waiting. But once it is finally your turn to order, the atmosphere seems to change completely. The employees suddenly start rushing you through your order -- "Next, next, next." I actually feel pressured and uncomfortable because I feel like I have to quickly decide what I want to add before I hold up the line. I can see that there are often several employees working at the front, and they do seem busy. At the same time, it sometimes looks like they are under a lot of pressure, especially when one employee is handling several customers at once. Maybe that is why they seem so rushed when serving customers. I understand that working in a busy restaurant can be stressful and tiring. However, **the way some employees interact with customers can sometimes feel impatient, rushed, and even somewhat aggressive.** It makes the experience uncomfortable. What I find most noticeable is that many employees often have an expression that makes it seem like **they don't really want to be there.** I don't expect employees to smile all the time or be overly cheerful, but a little more patience, professionalism, and courtesy toward customers would make a big difference. I like Chipotle and I keep coming back because I enjoy the food. But honestly, **this is something I have noticed at many different Chipotle locations, not just one particular restaurant.** I really think the overall customer service experience could be improved.
